Snapseed (editing app, NIK EFEX(professional photo editing too for photoshop) for Android, Google bought them.): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.niksoftware.snapseed
It has a center blur setting that you can drop anywhere on the photo and change the blur around it. Also, it's free.

Verizon SGT built-in camera has no zoom features. Please confirm. Others camera apps from market zoom freeze the camera application. Any help will be appreciated.

Silly question, but did you try the volume rocker?
I knew about the volume rocker. It doesn't work. I have both Droid 1 & Droid X. It looks like mine is defected. Thanks for your confirmation.

Called Verizon, confirmed the camera zoom feature is not available. Too bad.

It's not just Verizon, it's the entire Tab range that does not have a zoom function for the camera.
There is however a workaround which involves using a third-party camera app named Vignette.
Vignette uses a live action crop tool which is basically the same as the digital zoom you find on any phone camera.
What is so great though about Vignette is it is far, far better in use than the stock camera App on the Tab.
Vignette has so many additional settings and effects for you to use, it's quite unbelievable. Not only that, I did a series of tests between Vignette & the stock camera and found on all accounts Vignette produced much sharper photos with more natural colours. What was also amazing was the crop tool (which is presented as a sliding zoom level) actually produces good results at various levels of zoom.
Go on, give vignette a try, I am sure you will be amazed and quite happy with it. It's become my Camera App of choice now.
Thanks for the info. I will try this out.

I love the photo sphere feature. But am struggling how to figure out how to Change it with fancy effects like a globe. Saw a video where he did a photo sphere and made it look like it was on a globe type of thing? I hope someone knows what I mean ?? Sorry hard to explain it.

After the picture is rendered... there should be a globe thingy on bottom right...while in gallery.
Thanks for the reply, but I don't mean that, its called planet view the following video shows what i mean
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUZzeAqImsM
Middle does the scroll around picture, right is where you can do the globe picture thing.
I know, but look more into the video, there is a nice feature where he clicks button and makes it fish eye an other effects
anyone?
this is a stand alone application demo from another company, its not actually in the Nexus 4, if you notice that guy is using a galaxy nexus doing a software demo.
i dont think google has implemented anything except the panorama stuff.
I hope the feature comes to the nexus 4 would be awesome.

For instance... I have found that the stock camera does a great job on action photos with the sports setting whereas the Super Camera doesn't do so well, but it excels at still photos compared to the stock one. Photo comparisons coming soon... I would also appreciate if you guys could post photo comparisons too and what settings you used.

I like Camera Zoom FX

Only alternative I really used was Camera Zoom FX. I use stock 99% of the time, works great for me.
I tried several a couple days ago and found Camera FV-5 works really well. The low light shots in that app were hugely better for color accuracy and detail than stock, Super Camera, A Better Camera, Focal, and Snap Camera. Plus Camera FV-5 does make low light shops look like oil paintings, you see the noise and the details both. There is a free version, try it out, I think you'll like it.
I am using the nexus camera app with photo sphere... deff works smooth on my custom rom, can't complain but much better than Samsung stock

Why are you saying that about a completely different phone? It's not even relevant.
Photo comparissons would be nice. What i have found is that stock camera with flash or no flash takes ****ty pictures at night, especialy faces, all look like water paint. Its that stupid denoise algorithm...
I'm just making this thread because I am just not too thrilled with Google's camera. I'm hoping together we can figure out which camera ports out there work well for the 6P - and I'm hoping for some 3rd party camera recommendations as well.
Remember not to link paid apps here - just name them if they're paid
I'll start...
I tried the Moto X Camera shared by @not-i. I thought it was pretty responsive. The UI seemed a bit tricky when trying to use the "Control Focus & Exposure" feature.
Any other cameras you guys care to mention? Maybe I'll throw them in the OP. Let's see if this goes anywhere
The HTC camera port is not too bad but i wish it had Manual Mode.
This may sound crazy but I'd kill to have a port of the Samsung camera...
Be nice to have the Color OS Camera Ported

I like ProShot as a paid app. Wasn't excited about the Moto X camera cuz it didn't do HDR. I'd LOVE the moto x camera with HDR. I still use the stock camera app day to day because even ProShot shows too much graininess in dark shots.
Any suggestions for good night camera or action camera
Snap camera HDR. Also has a second api. Lots of options.
There's a trial option so you can check it out, can alter the icon within the app.
Edit: scratch that, just installed it and it doesn't work wtf? Gutted.
I'm using the HTC camera as my daily.

Actually snap camera HDR does work. I had flashed the wrong g apps.
I am using a paid app called Camera FV-5.
Anyone know how to make background images clear like the focused images when using the camera ?
Another words disabling the background blur in a single photo and have the focused pic and back ground equal in quality

That would require an adjustable aperture on the lens. Google bokeh and depth of field if you care about what causes that.
Until we have a fully working manual focus tweak, this can't really be achieved unless you adjust your positioning when taking the photo.
It's a work in progress here, but I haven't personally been able to get it to work.
