Hi!
When you look at the Nexus 10 you will find that the launcher has a real landscape-mode. I'm missing this mode on our Nexus 7. I.e. on the Nexus 10 the dock is at the bottom, we are having it on the right side and we have no search-bar.
Is there already a way to get the Nexus 10 launcher-layout to our Nexus 7?
Regards,
McDV
It seems like no one else dislikes the landscape-mode of the Nexus 7.
I don't believe so, but you could play around with launchers and try to make one you like. Get creative with it.
I personally don't care for that sort of dock, so it doesn't bother me. And the setup I have with Nova Launcher really works for me.

Exactly what I mean!
You could use nova launcher.Turn the Dock off then put the icons you want on the bottom.. Same difference .. I really dislike the google search and the dock bar on a tablet size screen.. The search bar i want NO PLACE. not even on phone..
Just my opinion...

Well, it's simple really! I used Photoshop to mimic the tiles and then cut them up into individual pieces, numbered them in such a way so that it's easy to puzzle them back together. Then, I used @Argony-OT's OblyTile application for Windows 8 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1899865) to create my own tiles and made them one by one!
It took a lot of time, granted, but it was definitely worth it Being one of the first people to figure out this trick with Windows 8 tiles is definitely an honour I shall cherish!
I prefer Windows 8 with start button

So, I was very bored, and I made a concept. I'm sure you've all seen GridOS, and I know that you've probably seen many people asking for it. I really wish we could get something like this going on android. I know literally nothing about creating apps (yet) but I wonder if the designer of Launcher 7 would be interested, my concept is basically a 4-way-scrollable version of his existing app. I'd be willing to help with graphics in ANY way.

It would be nice to see grid os, I thought it was built on android? They say they can use android apps so I'm assuming yes we just need to port or *a* port.

Actually, this isn't just a theme. This is a hopeful development thread for a full-fledged home replacement app. I contacted the developer of Launcher 7, and he said that he doesn't have time to work on anything right now. He did say, however, that he was playing around with the idea of a Windows 8 launcher for android, but that this looked much more interesting.
Very interesting idea, actually more interesting than the Win8 layout itself. I haven't got right now time for coding tablet, but if I prototype it again, I'll definitely look at this approach over win8.

I've searched high and low and can't figure out why no one has mentioned that the numbers are missing from the top row of the jelly bean keyboard. Does no one miss being able to long press for numbers? Is there some setting I am missing to bring them back?

@asovse1 had you changed settings/installed a 'phone-based' kb? that is not the default kb on my device
This is the only reason I installed swiftkey and swype. I fell out love with swype a long time ago but the new version is a lot better (I wonder when they are going to take it out of beta status)

Oh crap, you guys are right, I just realized that this isn't the stock Jelly Bean keyboard.
It's the stock Jelly Bean keyboard MODDED by Paul O'Brien from my Jr2 custom ROM. Sorry guys.
BUT if you guys want, this JB keyboard looks like is has numbers on it, give it a try: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beansoft.bean_keyboard
I have been thinking about re-naming my Nexus 7 ( Bluetooth, Play & PC) but I have really no idea what to name it..
I was hoping I could get some inspiration here
So what did you name your Nexus 7 on:
Play Store
Bluetooth
PC?
Screenshots included to further show what I mean.

ther say, that the port to nexus tablet takes only one Day
not anymore with the new version unfortunately. even with the n9 and n950 it needs lots of work to be done for a proper port. you can read more about it at maemo.org.
