Got my Nexus 4 today (UK) but the Sound Search widget is missing which is unusual as Google Play Music is live now in the UK. How can I enable it without rooting?
Only way I know is from root with titanium
Wallet you can enable from market if you have downloaded it previously

Hello.
I'm german. I have a account on google music (on "https://play.google.com/music"). I have upload an album.
And when i used google music pre installed on my nexus 7: no synchro! Nothing appears!
I have read your topics about google music... but i don't understand.
So please can you explain me how i must do to have synchro ...?
Thanx.
Ps: i don't want to root my nexus 7
I had the same issue but fixed it by going in to settings / apps/ running and force stopping Play. Then powered down my nexus then back on and re-launched Play and hey-presto it worked.. good luck!

ok that works here to! ^^
I have my nexus 7 for a year and I have in countered an issue. I was travelling to Switzerland (i am not sure if the following has anything to do with the problem) when I wanted a little extra coins on some apps like subway surfers the apps require "in app purchases" and I had seen a friend get all in app purchases free on iOS so I tried to do the same. I downloaded an app and it asked me to change my timezone to Moscow and so I did. The app did not work. I uninstalled it and came back to Sydney and my WiFi bars are Grey and I can access the internet but I can't access Google play services. I have done some research and a lot of users say I have to make sure my timezones are correct and they are. I have rooted my nexus 7 and am running the latest stock android with the new Google play. Can somebody help this driving me crazy!?

Try clearing the data for play store and Google play services.

Karma sucks, doesn't it?
Hmm were you trying to be a cheapskate constantin? It wasn't enough to implement your own national religious agenda?

Do you have root?
If you have root, you can do the following to turn back to blue :
1)Download latest google play store app. and also google services framework.
2)Install the google play app(do not open the app).(warning:- do not install services framework now.)
3)Open root explorer.
4)Go to system/app. find the google framework services.apk and delete it.
5)Copy and paste the downloaded framework services.apk to system/app.
6)Exit the root explorer app and clear all recents.
7)Again open the root explorer and go to system/app and find your google framework services.apk and install it.
8)Exit root explorer and restart the phone.
9)Now go to settings/apps/all.Find the services framework there click on it and first clear the data then force stop the app.
10)Now restart your and bingo! your wifi is in blue and you can connect google+.
11)If not working then there may be a problem in your wifi router

Any help?
Google are enforcing regional restrictions so content providing services are automatically disabled outside the United States for legal reasons. To make sure it stays that way, they built in a half-daily check into those apps, so once a day - or whenever you restart your device - it'll automatically hide the app from the system.
As usual - blame the lawyers.
On my Moto X it stays after a reboot.
On my Nexus 7 is does not.
I didn't wait a full day to see if it will disappear from my Moto X when not rebooting. I know it does on the Nexus 7.
Since Google Music is available in Canada, why Sound Search would be still blocked anyway? And why Soundhound and Shazam aren't restricted?
Seems like a total nonsense.

There's a workaround for that
I find google sound search better than any other sound recognizing app. But since it gets blocked every reboot, install xposed framework and MODACO toolkit extension. This is the only way out of Google's control freakyness over foreigners. Of course you'll demand root.

Another solution is to use an older version of the app, such as this.
Hi all
I'm running the latest version of jellybean and play books on my nexus 7 (2012) and the info cards no longer seem to be working.
Previously if you highlighted text by long pressing on an info card would pop up with a definition or a map location for places.
I have tried with both uploaded books and purchased ones.
I have tried clearing the cache and also uninstalling updates to the app.
I have read else where that 'free flowing text' needs to be enabled in the settings however I can't even find this option.
I am in Australia, perhaps Google have disabled it here?
Can anyone confirm it works in Australia on a nexus 7?
Thanks.
I'm running into the same issue - any luck figuring this out? I've tried all the same steps.
Nope, I'm guessing they've blocked it in Aus, no idea why.

This appears to be working again. Not sure if it was an update.
