[Q] I broke my Tf101 - Eee Pad Transformer General

Hello everyone This is my first time posting so I hope this is in the correct spot.
I have a Transformer TF101.
I rooted it months ago and can not remember what method I used.
I installed CyanogenMod 10 and everything was fine.
I did an update to one of the nightly builds and now my Transformer is stuck in CWM.
When I plug it into my Windows 7 pc it comes up with a unknown device code 43. I have tried it on several other devices having vista and xp and the same thing happens.
For the heck of it I tried placing the stock FW on the SD card but the transformer does not see it.
I tried placing it in adb mode but the pc still comes up with unknown device.
I have factory reset, wiped cache, and delvik, it is just stuck on CWM.
Can anyone help me with this or did I just totally break the thing? Thank You.

what did you use to flash the rom?
Try doing a cold boot......volume down and power (like you would to boot into recover) but release the keys when the white writting comes up on screen and press nothing.
use v+ and v- to toggle and select the Android or let it kick in itself.
sounds like youve used rom manager

Thank You Scotty: That did get me back so it boots up. None of my computers will see it. Wondering if maybe the cable took a dump. I did use rom Manager. At this point I would like to bring everything back to stock and start over. Any suggestions on how to bring back to stock with sync cable not working?

best just to get the sync cable and use one of the tools available to make sure it gets done right.
just dont use rom manager bud.....:good:

[Q] BSOD + new computer without adb drivers = ermmm...

Ok this might seem strange, and just bare with me if I'm being thick...
I have had a nose around the forums and done a search but I couldn't find a solution to my problem.
I installed CM6 (by bumblebee) on my vega via CWM and instantly got BSOD - I didn't really think this was a problem because I knew the risk that it might happen and I had already done a backup etc.
However, all the parts for my new computer arrived the next day so I forget about my BSOD vega for a week as I started building my new computer and setting it up etc etc
I just got round to sorting my vega out when I realised I had completely wiped my old laptop with all the adb drivers on it etc (because I was going to sell it). Therefore, I cant get into recovery or flash anything to it because I cant use any adb commands :s (I cant reinstall the drivers - windows wont recognise the device as adb, only as a mobile device...).
Any suggestions? Am I being thick? Thank you for taking time to read through my rambling post anyway
You should be able to get into recovery and re-flash a stock rom. Make sure the device is plugged into the power and usb. Open device manager in win 7. Then hold down the back button for 2 secs then while still holding back hold power for 2 secs then release power but keep back button down for 2 more secs under universal serial bus controllers a new device should pop up. Point that at the usb drivers from the advent website. When the drivers have installed the screen on the vega will still be black but you should be able to flash the stock rom and start again.
Hope that helps
I will give that a try thanks for your help
Ok this is strange :S
EDIT: Drivers updated! But:
It only stays in APX mode for a couple of seconds before turning itself off - I know there is enough battery because I have booted it and left it for at least 10 minutes hanging in BSOD...
EDIT2: Ok, things have got worse:
- manged to flash stock image, booted in to 1.08
- flashed clockworkmod
- got into CWM and preceded to restore
- restore froze whilst restoring dalvik cache...
- left for an hour, no change
- decided best thing to do was to turn off device and boot again
- device boots, hangs
- used adb to reboot
- now wont even get to the 'booting...' screen, adb and pc wont detec device anymore
- tried to get to apx mode, works but my pc wont detect it so cant flash stock image again...
Sounds bricked anyone got any ideas? I know it was probably a stupid idea to switch it off whilst it was restoring but it was definitely frozen.

Keep trying to put it into recovery mode. At times it gets picky and you have to time it just right. Took me several attempts before it worked correctly again, so keep at it
Also, be sure to keep the USB plugged in while you are attempting to get it into recovery-mode and your sound turned up so you hear the infamous hardware-connected sound. Once you hear it, immediately plug in the power and start the recovery-flash. Do not wait too long or you'll have to start from scratch again
Keep at it, you're almost there.
Got there in the end thanks for your help!

[Q] First blue screen, now boot loop.

Hello XDA-devs forums,
I'm having an issue since yesterday.
I have rooted my Huawei Ideos X5, and it ran fine for a day or so.
However, when my battery ran out it shut down into a completely blue screen.
When I tried booting it again, this just showed me a blue screen as well.
Now, I fixed this issue by connecting the phone to my PC after booting it with the Vol+ and Vol- pressed.
(So you get the pink/purple screen)
However, when I opened the phone on my PC, all I saw was a "239 MB" "empty" space, and it should have ~2GB..
I placed a backup copy I saved of my "image" folder in that 239 MB storage, and it booted.
However, today I hooked it up to my PC again to see if it magically changed..
And I couldn't access the 239 MB space anymore.
When I tried fixing the issue with a reboot of the phone, that just caused it to get stuck in a booting loop.
So now I'm stuck with a phone that keeps trying to boot itself,
and I can't access it on my windows PC.
I can, however, access 4 different folders of the phone on my linux notebook.
Now, my question is: can someone with a good understanding of problems like these please help me out?
I'm getting kind of fed up with it, as I've only got the phone for 2 days now.
Thank you in advance, and thank you for taking the time to read this.
Have you tried removing the battery for 5 minutes and then putting it back in?
After this, what happens when you press VOL+ and Power?
How about if you press VOL+, VOL- and Power, without the USB cable?
Hello Katu, thank you for posting.
Regarding your questions:
Yes, I have tried to take out the battery for 5+ minutes- it didn't change anything to the situation unfortunately..
If I press VOL+ and Power at the same time, the device boots into recovery mode.
In this I have tried to format the device in order to reset it to factory defaults, but this did not help either.
When I press VOL+, VOL- and Power, the phone boots into the pink/purple screen.
Can you try a custom recovery and a custom rom? I want to see if your onboard flash is borked.

I had the same when my phone got f*ucked up. Put the image folder, than download official rom, like b138 and install it. then check your imei. There is a change that it will be 0.

Well, I used an original ROM:
U8800 V100R001C00B136(Overseas General version)
And that resulted in the boot.img being corrupted, so I can't even overwrite that anymore.
Also, this is what I see when I hit VOL+, VOL- and Power at the same time to boot into safe mode, and connect it to my PC.

I installed the official B136 rom, and after it rebooted, it would just hang on a black screen.
(it used to show the IDEOS or Android logo when it booted)
Hmm mine came with this Rom
U8800 V100R001C00B135SP01 ( general )
Looking at your name you're from the Netherlands ( so am I )
where did you get this 136 version from ?
I would try to put this one on it
You have to put the 'dload' folder into the root of your SD Card,
then boot into boot-loader, after that it'll automatically flash back to the stock Rom.
1 Format SD card
2 On the SD card, create "dload" folder
3 Put the unzipped Rom into "dload" folder
4 Then boot to bootloader (pink screen)
Yes, mine came with that version as well.
However, I couldn't find it anymore and thus downloaded the version I said earlier.
Also, I did everything as you described, except step 4.
You have to boot to recovery instead of bootloader. (VOL+ and Power)
Anyways, I managed to get ClockworkMod's recovery.img on my phone,
and from there on install a custom ROM on the phone, which magically got it working again - even though it didn't work earlier.
Thank you for reading my thread and taking the time to reply to it.
My issue has been resolved.
just for the record, flashing a stock rom is different from flashing a custom rom..
the 4 steps described by Gman2oo6 is the correct way to flash a stock rom (and it is written clearly in the document that is in the stock rom zip file)
[edit]
step (1) is not a necessary step though..
Yeah, I noticed that.
What I did was format my SDcard with FAT32,
and put a custom rom (update.zip) on the SDcard.
I then booted ClockworksMod Recovery and installed the custom rom from the SDcard.
When I tried installing the stock rom, I just followed the PDF file's instructions that came with the stock rom.
hey i udated to GB 2.3.4 (official)and i didnt like the it cuz the wifif ddnt work and the bluetooth also the DATA so itryed to downgrade to 2.2.2 original official and it did the 2/2 steps intalled and when it restarted it did not want to turn on all that happened was it vibrated and thats all so i left it on like that and when the battery died i plugged it in to the AC and the LED turned on red and the touch kkeys also but not the screen so i really NEED help!
Try to turn it on with lead connected but no battery and see if you can start it.
My battery also went dead flat this morning and I couldn't get it started at all till I tried this. Once I got it started the only thing I could do was quickly pop in the batery and let it charge. Just leave off the cover till you get it going.
I have to add that I did not have the problem of a failed update to deal with but it may at least get you started
i tryed it
nope nothin good happened all that happens is a blank screen with nothin on ,LED is off and the touch keys are off. it justz vibrates and when i put the battery it turn the LED on to red and the touch keys turn on but then like 5 min later the LED and keys turn off

ok heres what i did i wanted to upgrade my phone to the newest version GB 2.3.4.So what i did was download the update and i followed the installation steps i successfully updated to Gb 2.3.4. so like i was checking how it look and the new feature but when i wanted to go on the android market i went to setting and turn on the wifi and it said Error and then i tried the Bluetooth and it said Error also so then i put my SIMs card in and i was like imma use DATA then and when i restarted my phone it had service but no HSPA+ or Edge or GPRS so like i just hatted my phone from their so then i was trying to root it but iddnt know how to do that so like i read this website and i got the UPDATE.APP or 2.2.2 AT&T did the same steps of the installation of BG 2.3.4 and it went to the process and 1/2 stepp good it passed and then 2/2 also passed it installed it and when it said Successively Installed it said Restarting and the scrren turn of and it vibrated and thats all that happened and i left it like that for the whole days and nothing happened
Do u got any idea?
When i connect it to my laptop it says installing drivers .then its says sucesfully installed drivers ready to use. so then i got to Device Manger and i check what has been installed and their it said USB Human interface device and HID-compliant device WHAT DOES THAT MEAN??
Not sure about the HID (human interface device) probably just the way windows sees the device for interfacing with it. With regards to the not booting I have read a lot of people saying that you need to factory reset and clear cache after the upgrade/downgrade. With the phone off, turn it on by long pressing volume+ and power on button till you get the blue recovery screen and from there you can reset factory/ data and also clear the cache. from what I see this should clear up the problem and start up. Please read this thread, it may help you somehow..... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420728
Hope this helps a little
U mean Boot recovery and imma try it and thanks ill check it out

[Q] Need Help with ICS 4.0.3 FLEXREAPER-R11

Hey there,
I installed this ROM onto my Iconia Tab 2 days ago, and it has been working fine. However, this morning, when I turned my Iconia Tab on, it went to the messed up boot screen as normal, but this time it was stuck on it. (Before It would go to this screen and then go to the boot animation after about 5 seconds)
I have left the tablet plugged in and on this screen for 1 hour, but it still hasen't loaded. I have tried using the reset pinhole, but that hasen't helped.
When I first flashed this ROM, I first installed Acer Recovery Installer, which I used to install CWM. Then I installed the "Rom Manager" app for ClockWork Mod (I got both from Google Play). After that, I installed the ROM zip file with the Rom Manager app, and as I said before it has been working perfectly, but today it is broken.
My main problem is that my volume rocker is broken, and so I cannot access CWM recovery. I do not have any important data on my tablet, and so all I need is a way to enter recovery mode without the use of the volume buttons (USB keyboard, possibly? Or can I do it from my PC?).
I've asked acer about this, and they want $300 to fix the volume rocker.

You should be able to connect via ADB and run the boot to recovery from there. Not sure of the exact command, but you can Google it.

Plugged it into my PC, it shows up as a "MTP USB Device", instead of a Composite ADB. I've already got Android SDK and Acer's Drivers installed.

With the app Acer recovery installer you can boot into recovery. Open the app and there is the option.
And don't use rom manager to install a rom.
Rom manager doesn't support a500 , install rom from cwm. When you install follow installation instructions , does it says to use rommanager ? It says flash from cwm or ra recovery and wipe all , problems well do real format , so you get rid of corrupt data.
Stuck in a boot loop, maybe you installed a mod that is not for flexreaper.
And update your recovery to the latest, Google tegra owners or use Ra recovery that you find here on xda.

If you updated to the latest cwm 1.7.1 touch recovery you didn't need hardware buttons to navigate.
Did you try downloading the latest cwm , rename that zip file to update.zip and put it on your external SD , normally it should run automaticly , I think.
But then again you need the volume switch to enter recovery.
Is there no way you can press the volume ?
You tried reinstalling Acer drivers ?

Thanks, but yes I have reinstalled the drivers.
After searching google, I have found out that Acer's ADB drivers are not compatible with 64bit windows, and I do not have access to a 32bit machine.
Right now in device manager it shows up as a "MTP USB Device", but there is a yellow exclamation mark next to it, and the error is "This Device Could Not Start. (Code 10)"
According to more google searching, my boot problem can be fixed simply by clearing the Dalvik cache, but the only way to do that is to use recovery (which I cannot access) or a command in ADB (which I ALSO cannot access)

Yeah, with the correct drivers it should show as ADB Device. Here is a link for commands;

Installed drivers, no luck. I'm beginning to feel that it's not working because android itself isn't loading... IDK...

If I remember correctly, I started adb through the sdk, then plugged in my tab (on). I think at that time, I was asked to install the drivers, so I let the install new hardware find them. I think they're just the generic google adb drivers.
Either that, or I instructed a specific location to install them from. I also remember getting a warning that the driver may not be compatible, however, most instructions tell you to ignore this and select it anyhow.
I have several different devices,so it's hard to remember.
OK, I made a video of my problem, and me trying to install ADB drivers:

Also here is a photo of the screen that it's stuck on:

Also I discovered a bug with the XDA forums. When you add a YouTube Link with the YOUTUBE tags, you must enter advanced editing mode and DISABLE the checkbox for "Automatically parse links in text", or else it will display raw HTML instead of the embedded video.

Hey,
I tried removing the physical rocker and using a pen to press the physical buttons underneath, but those presses are still not registered.
try to remove drivers using Device Manager and reconnect device or connect your device to another usb port. Acer's driver setup utility doesn't really install driver but only copies file. You need to force Windows 7 to lookup drivers for new device.

I have managed to install the ACER_A500_1.016.05_COM_GEN1 ROM via the secret APX method, however I am unable to install CWM or CWM Touch, as I cannot root the device, because GingerBreak requires an external MicroSD card, which, for some reason, is not recognized by the ROM. The ROM also only detects 128MB of internal storage, when my tablet has 32GB. Furthermore, the Camera dosen't work, it just displays a black screen, and when I press the shutter button, the camera LED goes on, and it attempts to focus, but cannot.
How would I go about flashing on CWM so I can flash on another ROM?
Thanks for all your help.
EDIT: I tried formatting it with CWM on my phone, and then putting it back into my tablet, but it still won't work.
(works fine on my phone)
Is it formated fat 32?

If this is a 3.1 rom, you only need to get iconiaroot.apk. You should be able to copy it to your internal SD, then install it from a file manager.
Get iconia root 1.3 here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138228
Once that is done, you should be able to get AcerRecovery from the market and Install RA or CWM recovery.
And once you get recovery going, I would do some serious formatting on your internal memory.

The phone won't turn on, it keeps showing LG logo and showing Secure booting error. Cause: boot certification verify. (1001)
I tried pretty much everything in the past 6 hours and i'm losing my mind.
LG PC suite or any LG pc software won't recognize the phone when plugged with USB, and everytime I plug in the phone to my PC windows opens 15 boxes of "new hard drive detected, format needed to use" (here's a picture)
Also tried following this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142, but no luck. It seems like my dev folder is missing alot of sub-folders for some reason.
Anyway I'm really lost. Can you guys please help me to solve this? I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.
To be sure, have you already tried to get into TWRP through the factory reset key combination?
I tried almost every combination possible. the phone simply resets itself to the same situation, screen is on but black and nothing else happens
After holding power+down buttons the LG logo comes up and disappears in a snap, like something is wrong.

Your device is unplugged while you do this right? It has to be completely turned off before doing the combination, and while plugged in, it just doesn't turn off completely.
Yes, it is unplugged while I do it
You'll need to hold the volume down + power key as you turn the phone on, then re-press them when the LG logo shows up to get to the factory reset page. Just verifying the simplest solution before I go in depth with this.
If your phone still won't get into TWRP, try this: plug the phone in to your computer, and open device manager (right click computer > manage) and under portable devices, locate your phone. Once you find it, right click it, click uninstall, and once that's done, unplug your G2 and reboot the PC. Once it boots up, plug your G2 back in and let it reinstall the drivers and try to do the guide again. Best of luck!
EDIT: I just realized the guide you are looking at requires Ubuntu. Are you aware of this?
double edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
Let me know if you've tried this guide yet.
I believe you're using vistual machine for ubuntu.
Well, if you keep getting 15 messages about formating drives (in windows) when you plug your phone to ubuntu you will not get your patitions in ubuntu.
So you should close the messages asking you to format drives, then open vmware in full screen mode, then plug your phone to computer and follow the guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142. I'm sure in this case you will get your phone partitions showing is dev/sdb.
Even if you don't get those partitions keep trying several times untill you succeed.
Good luck.
Thank you!
Apparently I was using the key combination wrong.
And yes I was using ubuntu on a VM.

[Q] Stuck at Boot / Nothing working anymore.

EDIT:
UPDATED POST AT THE BOTTOM!
Hey guys,
flashed czechops CM 10.2 a while ago everything was running fine.
On Saturday i decided to let the battery drain completely to do a full recharge. That`s when the Problems started.
After booting the Phone up i was stuck in a Bootloop with the Cyanogenmod Logo turning around and around and around and so on.
Okay i thought let`s reboot and see what happens.
Still the same.
I then booted into recovery by holding the x button on the keyboard and power and then when the androind in the triangle showed up using vol + and vol - to get into recovery.
I then deleted the cache and rebooted again (No full wipe to factory default trying to avoid that).
After that the phone turned on saying Android is getting updated Updating Package x of y.
After its done its now stuck in Apps getting started.
After i found out to get to the Bootmenu i decided to check the Recovery Menu there.
I can choose between Motorola Stock Recovery (the normal one i already was on)
and Team Win Recovery.
So i choose Team Win Recovery and thought okay since its not working im gonna install the Update of czechops 10.2
Installing itself worked fine. But now im stuck in the same loops.
Currently im goind a Backup of the System with the Team Win Recovery in the hope i wont loose the data even if what im trying to avoid a full factory wipe.
What kinda poped in my eyes when i started the recovery was that it said E: Unable to locate '/boot' partition for backup.
Could this be the problem which is stopping the phone from booting correctly?
And if so how can i fix it?
Hope anyone can help me,
Kind Regards,
Invi
I had te same problem before doing a clean install.
I don't know why but, if you install the android 10.0 tezet and from there start the gapps, creating a account and installing your apps, you do not have problems to install the 10.2.
Good luck.

Thanks for the heads up jonas.
Unfortunately its too late its seems. My Milestone is just a stone now it seems.
After trying to install 10.2 12.03.14 and that not working correct after doing a full factory wipe i decided to install cm 11 from czechop.
Unfortunately it seems it failed.
My milestone just boots up and stops at the First Logo. No lights. No chance to get in any recovery mode except the normal one.
Bootloader was working some time but stopped cause the Battery is almost empty.
The Problem is i cant even load the Phone anymore cause as soon as i put it on a charger it boots up and wont get enough battery power to live for a few minutes.
So the only thing left working is the normal Android 3e Recovery. Hope i can do anything from there.
Don't give up.
Your problem it's normal, you fisrt need a global battery charger to recharge your battery.
After it, go to boot recovery, you must turn on the milestone holding " volume down + camera" or "volume up + camera", than you need to uses the RSD Lite to reflash your milestone 2.
Normaly, when do you came from another room, you stay in boot loop, so you need to entery in Miestone recovery, "x + volume down" than after it you do a factory reset. It will boot normaly after that.
To go to boot recovery, you must turn on.
Try harder.
(Guys, lets try to help a little)
Sorry about my poor english
I wont. Already ordered an global battery charger yesterday. In the mail from the store delivery is 7-10 Weekdays.
Good thing i have a second cellphone which i can use in the meantime.
i had a similar scenario

hi, I had a similar situation to that earlier today, in that I got to the situation where on boot up I got the Motorola logo then nothing else (I was trying to install C.M. 11 from 10.2 but when it went to install got a message E;// error - verification signature installation aborted), after major panic thinking I'd bricked my milestone, I tried starting the phone in bootloader mode (press camera, volume up and power buttons at the same time) which gives a black screen saying boot loader 70.13 and towards the bottom says boot menu, connect USB, then on your pc find program MOTOROLA SOFTWARE UPDATER (hope you've got it) open the program, it'll say connect a device plug your phone in and let it do it's stuff, takes about an hour (charge your battery using a desktop battery charger beforehand) and your phone will be returned to the stock Motorola rom but at least your phone isn't a brick and you can always start again trying cyanogenmod.
hope this helps

So i downloaded Motorola Software Updater and RSD Lite + Motorola Device Manager newest Version
Unfortunately my Milestone seems not to be recognized by either Software updater nor RSD Lite.
In the Device Manager S Flash OMAP3630 shows up and is recognized.
Im running Windows 8.1 x64 and on a second Computer Windows 7 x64
What tool can i use ander Linux? Maybe the Phone will be recognized there.
EDIT:
K found it. Doing it with Linux at the Moment. Its working.
Only need to Root it then and after that flash my old Files and hope they are working.
At least i have an old Backup i made from Tezet before going up to 10.2 which i made with Clockworkmod
Hope it will work and not be broken like the one i made with Team Win Recovery.
Anyone knows how i can change stuff in a Team Win Backup?

I did find it took a long time for the Motorola software updater (about 20 mins) to detect my milestone 2 (I'm using windows7 x64), I'm thinking the mistake I made when trying to upgrade to CM 11 was I didn't wipe data/cache before trying to install it

Hi mark,
well Windows popped up saying N/A
when it should show new Software.
It also couldnt recognize my Cellphone correctly it seemed.
But i flashed it with Linux anyways.
Flashing to tezet`s 10 worked also like a charm
and i could install my Backup i made in december before
updating to czechops 10.2.
Guess after i know what to do now i will try to update to cm11 now.

let us know how you get on as I'm tempted to try again (I do like how CM10 gets rid of all the un-necessary apps but gives you control of all the system parameters) but want to step up to CM11 without having the same problem as before.
