Since I got my incredible 4g, I've had this thing in airplane mode using it as a calculator, flashlight, etc. I think I've recharged it 4 times in 2 months. I wish I got nearly that good of life out of it when I used it with verizon.
What ROM are you using, OP?
From his post, it says "HTC Incredible - JB Inc RC3 ". I'd guess that means Albinoman's.
What's the point of the "great battery life" if you basically don't use your phone at all to achieve it? Battery life should be determined by a week of normal use. If that's how you use it, then congrats, but for the rest of us, that's why they made watches.

Hear, hear! I'd love to see how long the op's phone would last if they were actually using it (e.g. as a pmp).
I use it in my car as an MP3 player and i charge it a little less than once a week. Now as a phone/without airplane mode this thing was not good on battery life. That's where the gs3 does great.

Just wanted to say that I run with 3500 mah batteries. Recently purchased a ravpower universal adapter for 9.99 on new egg. It charges my batteries fuller than a charger I bought on ebay for 20$ which was an evo charger with an adapter. The old charger would stop charging when battery was at about 75-95%. So I would get about 20-24 hours of battery life with medium to moderate usage.
With same batteries charged with new charger, i get the full 100% and up to 25-30 hours of life. So a good purchase if you want to extend the life of your Dinc. Its a cool charger too because since it's adjustable, and it will fit nearly any flat battery in the future plus it charges faster at 600 mah.
Btw, the thing I think causes the biggest drain on battery is the 3g radio. When turned off, and you could easily get 4-5 days of standby.

So at 12:30pm i took my X off the charger(100%). it is now 8:21pm and my battery is at 40% with minimal use(browsed app store, 2 calls, a few txts) Now reading the forums over at Androidcentral comes up with conflicting information.
1. Let the battery get below 15%, turn it off, charge to 100%. Do this a few times and the battery life should improve.
2. DONT do #1
3. After a few overnight charges battery life will improve.
So whats the real truth here?

I hear that these batts don't have a memory at all, and it IS NOT good for the batt to keep it plugged in after fully charged.
The truth is to do whatever the hell you want with your battery and enjoy your life.
Charge it when you can, and use it when you want. To op, these batteries don't really have memory, so don't worry about conditioning.
To the next guy, leaving it plugged in is fine because the phone is smart enough to trickle charge and maintain the battery heath. Don't need to outthink the power management engineers. They've got you covered.
Yeah i have just plugged in mine after 11 hours of extensive use. I swear. Of course gps was off but wifi was running the whole time viola first iphone competitor. It does take a lil to charge compared to the evo and incredible. It doesn't matter cause it lasts forever.

yes, i also dont think leaving it plugged in should be an issue otherwise the media dock doesn't make sense. If you have it on the media dock as your alarm clock during the night then it will eventually still be plugged in even though its fully charged.

my battery easily lasts a day. I can get through a full 9 hour day of work and still have 78% battery left. Not to mention I left my phone off the charger last night, got up 10 hours later and the battery only went down 3%
You sure you dont have any programs open? Also I don't use a task manager if that means anything to u

I bought this, it took about 2 weeks to get to me,(but for 12.99 for 2 batteries and a wall charger) as it was coming from hongkong, but got it yesterday, and its great, 2 extra batteries, and a wall charger so now i dont even need to charge my phone, i let the battery die so i can train them right, and just pop in a fully charged one when needed. the charger even has a usb hookup like the original wall charger that came with it, so really you could charge an extra battery, plus the one in the phone through the usb cable. The batteries are the same as the stock one that came with the phone. I wish i would have done this with my G1, instead of spending 90 bucks on 1 extra battery that didnt even have an external charger.

That would work, but I use the phone most of the day. It is not idle.
I take my phone off the charger at 5am @ 100%
Text most of the day at work with a 30 minute phone call at lunch...
Some moderate browsing and gaming...
I get home around 530pm, and "usually" have around 40%...

They are Samsung batteries, they look exactly like the one that came with my phone( down to the details written on the battery, only different thing is the date which was from 6/10 where the one with my phone was 7/10 and the s/n number), so I would say yes it is the same quality.

i bought the same set of batteries and charger. i'm still going through the charging/cycling phases with these new batteries. i'm not sure if they are on par with the stock batteries but i'll soon find out after a few more charges.
I am still doing that also, but I have to say that the wall charger is worth the money so even if the batteries don't work out, at least I have this awesome dual wall charger!

so far. the batteries are not on par with the stock battery. i work eight hours shifts. my battery runs down to 35-40 pct with moderate usage i.e. facebook, youtube, casual browsing by the time i leave work.

I got the same type of deal on ebay, 2 batteries & the charger (did the same thing with my MT3G as well), it's always nice having extra batteries, and I can use the charger when I'm traveling (it will also charge up my PSP). Now just need to get a mini to micro USB adapter and I have one less cable to carry around for charging - although I recently got an external drive for data storage, so I guess I will need a second cable if I want to tether my phone and use the external drive.
The batteries are not as good as stock and one seems to hold a charge better than the other (have to mark them so I remember which is which - these are generic one without the Samsung label), but as I train them via charge, use until dead, swap, charge, this should at least max them out a bit. The ones I had for my MT3G actually outperformed the original battery that came with so was hoping for the same. But considering how cheap these are, I could even pick up a couple more.

Those batteries from Hong Kong are not an original Samsung battery, they are just compatibles.
The lasting power of a li-on battery depends not just on the mAh, also the circuit inside the battery counts much of it.
The circuit takes care of the special sleep modes and energy saving features of a battery.
Samsung has its own energy saving codes that can not be put into a common compatible batteries.
This is why an original one is much more expensive than a compatible ones.
Extended battery for the vibrant, lasts twice as long and great door
Check this out: Moretalktime's feedback is 100% and the door is soft rubberized--better than stock IMO. It cradles well in your hand in a very comfortable position and lasts over twice as long.

Re: Batteries not lasting all day
I'd like to throw in an observation on this thread. My battery life is quite good on my Vibrant. Lasts all day easily but there are a couple of things to take notice of. First, I do not use any task killers or such, but I do check if there are any running programs with the built in task manager and stop them once I'm through with them. I've found that Voice Search and Web Access continue to run even after I've closed or backed out of them. Thus the need for use of task manager. But here's what I really found out. I've always charged my phone using the wall adapter with USB cable plugged into it. Never had a problem with battery life. Then for some reason, I decided to start using the USB cable attached to my computer. It would charge as normal and each morning it showed 100% charged. But after about 1 week of using the USB cable from the PC to charge the phone, I started having the horrible battery issues that I've read about. Extremely fast discharge. Leave at 8am and have like 50% use at noon. Crazy. So I started using the wall charger again and the phone has returned to its original state, easily lasting all day. Just a heads up for some of you guys having battery problems. No idea why this has happened but I've confirmed it. Maybe the Power Management thing on the USB ports on the PC?
I just saw this thread after a search on Google. I already posted elsewhere, but this looks like it might be the battery some of you are looking for.

Me and my wife both have EVO's and for some reason hers doesn't hold a charge very good. Is there somewhere you recommend to buy another battery? Id like to have a charger that hooks into my cigarette lighter that'll charge a battery itself.
Check Amazon under EVO Battery.
EVO battery life sucks. You have a choice - slim sexy phone with lousy battery life or big fat phone with good battery life. Your wife's phone may drain faster simply because she uses her phone differently yours. Things like Facebook are known to drain battery very quickly, etc.
Either buy extra batteries or an external battery recharger - anyway, Amazon has them all.
On the battery charger for the car, make sure you get one rated at at least 800 ma. Many car chargers only charge at 500 ma and if you are running navigation or stream audio in the car, your battery will drain faster than it is charging so it will eventually go dead even though it is plugged in. The EVO NEVER runs directly off plugged in power. It always runs off the battery - so even when it is plugged in, it is running off the battery so you have to charge faster than you use.
Battery is fine if you tinker a little bit. But I got 2 batteries +wall charger + free shipping = 10.00 $ from ebay
I'm on Facebook twitter all day with my phone +email txt, talk and I get a full day from each charge
from my phone duh
I disagree with the comment above (mitchellvii), the Evo with the extended battery isn't that fat. Due to a large screen it evens it out. You can still use (with the extended battery) a spring holster and it will fit in a craddle and you can use the kick stand. I also like that more sturdy feeling which gives it a better weight, in my opinion, while holding it.
Amazon is a good place but so is Ebay. You have more batteries to pick from at ebay. I have bought 2 3500mAh batteries from ebay and the battery life is GREAT. Can go almost 2 days without charging with normal use (constantly on facebook, internet, and yelp- normal daily use of talk and text). Price ranges from $9-$85. Most batteries are shipped from Hong Kong so can take up to 3 weeks to ship to the U.S. And buy, if you can, using paypal for a little insurance in case the battery is defect.
You have options: If you want to stay with a slim phone- ebay has some batteries with higher charge capacity than the OEM without needing to buy a backcover- keeping it slim (1800mAh-2000mAh).
You may also look into software as well. Keeping your wifi or bluetooth on will drain your battery faster. Here are some great tips from goodandevo... http://www.goodandevo.net/2010/05/20-tips-to-improve-htc-evo-4g-battery-life.html
Hope it helped.
Try www.spider-foot.com. I got a couple for the Epic and they are great. I'm waiting for the EVO batteries to come which I ordered on 18 Nov. Also free shipping.
Ebay is the way to go. I have 8 batteries, including two 3000mah and two 1800mah along with two wall chargers and I paid less than $60 for all of them combined.
Hello all,
I just moved and lost my extra Sammy battery external charger....UGH. I've LOVED never having to charge my phone itself.
Just curious if anyone has tried any of the aftermarket options on ebay or elsewhere and can vouch for them. I know they may not perform quite as well as the OEM pair, but if they are comparable, it would be pretty good bang for the buck.
Thanks for any input!
From what I've seen the Yoobao 2800mAh is a good battery. It looks like the 3500mAh's aren't really 3500 and just have a different sticker. From everything I've read it looks like the Yoobao is what to go with. I'm actually going to order one today.
As far as a charger, I have the oem charger, and I have the Sprint charger (traveler charger plus) that charges it's battery pack from the wall, and then you can unplug it from the wall and carry it with you. I can generally get about half of a full charge (while using it) without it being plugged into the wall.
[edit] I think this should be in Q and A?
I'd go with Amazon.
I've tried the very cheap knockoffs (batteries and chargers). They do not perform as well as as the Samsung-branded OEM combo, which is available on Amazon in Samsung retail packaging for about $25 plus shipping.
I got a review in the Accessory section on one. Been working awesome for me for months now.

Just a couple of questions about the 3500 mAh battery and the charge dock:
1. Can the 3500 mAh battery charge in that external charger (ie outside of the phone in the charger bay).
2. If you use the dock with the phone upright, does it block speaker sound coming out of it from the back, since plan on using it next to my bed and my phone is also my alarm clock.
Thanks!

That external charger works with all batteries including the extended batteries. The dock blocks a little of the sound, but its not completely muffled.

Hey guys. I'm coming from a dead LGG4, where I'd just keep the second battery charging and swap out once a day or so.. I just got the S7E with a free charger from Best Buy... but wondering. Since I'm at my desk most of the day, is it bad to use the phone (Down to around 85-90%) then just keep topping it off on the charger whenever it's not in use? Will this shorten the life? It's not a high speed wireless charger (although I'd like one of those at some point). So far really loving this phone, even compared to the G4 which.. until the day it died out of nowhere, was probably my favorite phone at all. Might be a Samsung convert for good.
Will it shorten the life? Probably yes. But probably not by enough to notice.
The sweet spot for LI batteries is between about 25% and 75%. Keeping it charged above that is sub-optimal, but not nearly as bad as letting the charge drop to zero or near zero.
If there's no real need to keep it topped up, I wouldn't bother.
