[Q] No network detected in Dell XCD 35 - Blade General

Well my sister's phone was in servicing since it was boot looping. After a long wait of 3 months Dell has finally delivered my phone. But now my warranty is over, and the phone is showing no signal with inserting Idea sim. I tried thickening it with tape but no help. I have a Galaxy 3 myself so I think if this is a software problem I can flash a new rom which might make the signal work. I am not looking for anything fancy, please suggest if there is any ROM which can solve my issue, if not then please help me resolve my no network issue. Thanks as always XDA!
About Phone:
Model : XCD35
Android : 2.2
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9-perf
[email protected]
Build No. FROYO_P729DL1.0.0B01
Statues:
Network: Unknown
Signal Strength : 0 dBm 0 asu
Service State : Out of service.
Mobile network state : Disconnected.

Hey there
I suggest you first try another SIM card to verify whether the problem is with the phone or the SIM

I tried other sims. Not working, all the sim cards are working fine in my galaxy 3, not working in Blade.

Keeping in mind that this could be a hardware problem too, try a ROM like Swedish Snow or CyanogenMod 7 to check it out

Thanks. I'll try Swedish Snow. Will update. Seems less of an hardware issue since it might be possible that gen2 has been flashed over gen1 or something like that. What is the possibility? How do I know which gen is my phone?

Reading it now. In the meanwhile I found this:
[link] http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353526 [/link]
Is it possible to flash any of those? Blade Checker app says I have a European Version and Pigfish says I have a gen2. So I'm guessing the radio isn't working due to the flasing of gen1 over my gen2. Or the like.

You can flash them if you can find the correct stock rom. However, I recommend Swedish snow due to its performance and battery life

Yes, I'm going with Swedish Snow too. Thanks for the advice, looks like a fast Rom. Also, since my radio is off, ROM manager can't download the recovery files. Where do I get them and which one is suitable for gen2?

Ok so I'm still having problems loading CWM. I manually downloaded the .img file and tried to flash it but the .img file does not show up in the menu. What should I do now?

Guys HELP! Even Terminal Emulator is force closing. I need to find out a way to flash CWM recovery through SD card.

You can flash it via fastboot/adb

I notice this is B162, which (I think) is the version intended for the China market. I was expecting B136. Is there any risk involved in flashing B162 on a UK model?

OK, so here's the plan for how to spend my Saturday morning . Comments welcome.
1. upgrade firmware to B138
2. install superboot (not sure if I need to do this...)
3. install CWM 4.0.1.5
4. (optional) install new ROM (Oxygen 2.2.1 or FLB r7)
Did I miss anything?

Superboot was designed for 2.2.1 (B136) and may not work properly with 2.2.2 (B138). You don't need it at all if you install Oxygen/CM7/FLB/Miui.
Yup, I suspected that. Thanks for the confirmation!
So i received my X5 with U8800V100R001C00B135SP01 CUSTNLD253D001
I guess the customization is for Dutch market.
Does anyone know what these customizations are?
Also, i'm looking for a newer rom, but huawei isn't very helpful.
Can anybody please sent me a link to most recent stock rom that will work
in Europe (the netherlands)?
Thanks a lot for helping.
Any European B138 Roms should be much better compared to what you have now... The customization is limited to some applications that Netherlands Operator has agreed to get for this phone...Check your PMs...
Thanks!
I'll give it a try.
Does anyone know why they removed the roms from their site?

Katu, please send me that PM.
I've try'd the b136 rom for a week now, but i've found no differences... phone still reboots at random times. Using the dataconection (3G) gives reboots often.
Guess i've received a brick from Huawei.

I think the devs should leave the orig build info in the tab and just add on their sig to it for fallback reference.

That's not possible because each dev uses whichever build they want to base their rom off of. For example, your original stock firmware may be US, but developer1 uses ww base. Once you flash that rom, your tf will now be based on ww and there is absolutely no way of telling what was on their prior to because flashing the new rom will wipe and override any information from your previous rom.

Understand, so how will one do an update through ota? I'm sure Asus will have a hard time reconciling a tab's sku/serial conflict. I'm all for innovation and better ideas but if a tablet's profile is modified beyond recognition, it could wind up getting bricked if someone tries a manual update.
I wonder if there's any way to cross reference a serial to an sku? I don't see anything helpful at Asus' website.

If you have a custom ROM and/or custom recovery, the OTA will fail anyway.

Definately wait for your WW firmware
ANd incase you dont know how to flash the file. Download the file on the ASUS Support site(v10 epad launcher..), unzip this file and copy it to your SD card, then flash. Although I would probably return my build.prop to its original file
Can't wait for the first ROM's based on this
Oh how very exciting. I'm rooted but have been holding off on all the different CM builds because of the GPS issues. But this should be fulling functional, can't wait to see some roms popping up with this.

Can I install this on an SEA phone?
I have unwittingly bought a D855 32Gb phone which looks like it was meant for the south east asian market (V10K-SEA-XX).
Can you answer the following questions for me?
1 - Will this EUR rom work on my phone?
2- Will my phone still appear un-rooted i.e. indistinguishable from a bought european phone (Some of my apps will annoyingly refuse to work if it's rooted)
3 - My model does not currently have the 4g option, from reading on here I believe it has been disabled in the software of some SEA phones. Will this EUR rom enable 4g?
I suspect (and hope!) that the answers will be yes, yes and yes! Give me some good news!
Thanks for your help
Hey!
I hope it will help but I'm a super noob and that was my first flashing ever.
So I have the SEA model too. I used this update and everything worked without any problem, I have the v20e version now. (The software version changed to GLOBAL but it's still SEA - so you will only get the OTA when they get the OTA at SEA region.)
I read somewhere that you will get the OTAs when it will be available for your region (so SEA in our case). But since flashing is super easy and I can't wait weeks to get my updates probably it wont really affect me.
And I can see the LTE option in the settings.
I atached 2 screenshots maybe it's useful for you!
Have fun with Lollipop!
Thanks for the info mate, I think you've just convinced me to have a go with it. Which software did you use to flash yours?
Can you confirm that your phone did not need to be or end up rooted as a result?
Cheers

[SOLVED] A2017 4G 64GB has 16GB memory and support 4G?

I have a silly question. I've purchased a A2017 4G 64GB. However I only see 16GB memory in the storage. I thought it is supposed to have 64GB. Am I wrong?
I've installed A2017U B29. Does it support 4G network?
Out of 64 you should see close to 50 available probably on a new device. That's just a rough guess.
I have a lot of apps and only have used 24gb out of 64.

If you say so,ok cool.
Try downloading the version you where before in your A2017,
* Perform a FORMAT DATA
* Flash A2017 zips files
* Reboot back to System and check if that helps.
I haven't run into this case before, so this may or may Not help.

I don't remember which A2017 version it was but I did upate to the latest version via OTA. Do you think I can get latest zip file? Do I use TWRP or original recovery? Should I format internal sd card before flashing?
