I read the other thread - I didn't find it informative. The Nexus 4 is.. pretty amazing! I had a Galaxy Nexus, that I broke on Oct. 9th, and subsequently bought my HOX on the 12th. Insurance paid me $300 to fix or replace it. So, I sold my broken GNex for $150 today, and bought a One X for $300 (came out $150 ahead, basically). Should me, as a new user, return it, and go back into the Nexus fold? I really love my HOXL though, with the beautiful screen, awesome camera, and good build quality (2 drops in 1 week, just fine). I think I'm in my 14 day return period... but what does XDA think? Is the Nexus 4 worth flipping the HOX for? Elaborate below. Thanks!
there's another thread in the general section talking about the same thing. But imo, if lte isn't a big deal for you then i say go with the nexus 4. If you have lte in your area and you actually use data, then I would stick with the HOX

read it, didn't find very much there.
I'll never EVER see LTE. 1. I live in an urban/rural area. 2. I'm on prepaid. However, I do utilize my unlimited data ALOT. I find that I usually test between 5-7 mbps on H+, which is fairly decent! I haven't had good luck with LG in my family, however... lots of broken devices. What does everyone else think? Are YOU selling your device, and getting the nexus? I like CM10, except for the FB issues that I seem to have.

I'm gonna stick with the hox. It runs fine and will continue to run fine for the next two android versions at least. Cm10 is making great progress and we will probably get vsync before jb kernel source comes out lol. But if you are satisfied with your HSPA+ speeds, then sure I guess you could get the nexus 4

You know. I posted a thread in General a little bit ago. I laughed. I scrolled down to hit "submit" and I saw a checkbox saying "IS THIS A QUESTION?"
And there's also a thread in this section saying "DO NOT POST QUESTIONS IN THE GENERAL SECTION"
and this thread has [Q] in it.
Please do not post questions here. They belong in Q&A

I don't know how else to describe it. It's a bunch of 1-5 acre lots with houses on them. There's the occasional cow pasture, and cell tower. Edit - yeah maybe suburban, just with mixed in cow pastures
As for asking a question here - if it wasn't kosher, it wouldn't be an option. Lastly, there are many other [Q] in this thread.
I'm happy with H+, and won't see LTE for a good while. I just have problems with LG - And I'm rough with phones. A glass back would translate to a mangled device in very short order.
Not only is this in the wrong sub-forum, it's also in the wrong device section. Please keep your threads in their respective forums. This is tye One X forum, which has nothing to do with the One X. Thank you.

I am looking to sell my nexus 4. I have unlocked the boot loader and installed cyanogenmod. Is there a way to put everything back to factory (boot loader and all) before I sell it? I bet people want to do it all.them selves. That's the fun part! Lol. Also what sort of price should go with a 16 gig with googles bumper? Thanks a lot for any info!

There is a thread stickied to the top of the general section with instructions for returning to stock. Be sure to give the buyer a receipt with your name and signature on it so that they can get the phone and warranty put in their name.
OK, thanks for the info. I don't have the receipt. I bought it in a sealed box for $475 off craigslist. Oh well I guess it may just go in my drawer and a back up/toy
Its a great device I just cannot stand the email formats, I've tried k9 mail droid gmail native mail. None seem to fit the email to the screen well. That just a bit of a deal breaker.

It seems like I mainly have issues with HTML formating and embedded pics.
I am getting wonderful battery life though. Cm and Franco 5 hours screen time!!!
This is a great phone, I am just having a hard time adjusting to android. On iOS I could do anything that the phone/jailbreak allowed. This is my first android and I hate bugging people on here with noobish questions.
I'm still on the fact fence to be honest. I swithx between this nexus and my iPhone 5 often. This nexus by far wins on the customization aspect, I find gaming to be a bit lacking and the email clients. Those are my only 2 issues
For an android user I'm sure this is one of the best devices around, just for a noob, its a bit overwhelming.

I tried selling something on eBay for the first time recently. I even asked a friend with lots of selling experience for help. Still got boned. You may have better luck.
I'm amazed you would want to sell your Nexus 4. I used an iPhone 5 yesterday and I wasn't in the least bit impressed. Don't get me wrong. I'm not looking to turn this into a N4 vs. iPhone 5 war. But I guess that's the beauty of all these choices we have. I use what I like, and you use what you like.
Well a little insite to my home set up. I have 3 apple TVs, a 3tb time capusle, imac, and a macbook air and a Mac bookpro. I love the nexus its jus a bit overwhelming. I'm old and like super simple stuff lol.

The item was easily worth $250. I couldn't find an option to set a minimum selling price. It sold for $78. It sucked.
My friend was supposed to hop on and bid at the last minute to raise the price if no one bid higher, except he was off by 24 hours and the auction ended. Good times.
In all seriousness, ebay is set up to protect the buyer. A seller has to be very careful. All a buyer has to do is say they got an empty box or no package and PayPal refunds their money. EBay has it's uses, don't get me wrong. Just be careful. Check people's feedback and history. If something smells wrong, trust your gut.

Just ask questions. XDA isn't very newb friendly so ignore the assholes on here that will go off on you for asking any type of question. There is always someone willing to help though. People will yell all day about using search but that can be very overwhelming as well. If you searched pretty well and found nothing just ask, don't be afraid. I'm only saying this because I promise you in the end you will find your Nexus 4 and Android to be a far better option than iOS and the iPhone 5

Like using anything new it takes some time to get adjusted. When you're on the internet you have to have a thick skin so don't let anyone deter you.
Anyways try swappa.com
Well I bought a nano to micro sim adapter coming in the mail. Now I will be able to use both. When i get frustrated a can switch to the iphone until i figure out wth i did wrong on the nexus. I also got a sony google tv, and a Netgear Push2TV PTV3000 Wireless Display Adapter. Google products are a lot of fun. I was just REALLY confused.
Nexus 4 on eBay are going for about $440.

That sorta defeats the thrill of getting a bargain on ebay for people...
Of course you can set a minimum bid. Karma sux mate.
Lucky your friend didn't win it. Then you have to pay the sales listing cost and still have to resell the item.
I've used ebay since 2006 and never once boned
Hope everything works out, This is one of the best phones I've ever gotten, the best being going from a dumbphone to the Droid, it got me into the whole root/ROM thing, which adds insane amounts of customization. It is a bit much, but once you make your phone yours, you wouldn't trade it for anything but another Nexus.

That may be the most honest thing I have ever read on here. Makes complete sense in regards to your likes. :good:
I received my Nexus 10 in the mail today (I thought I would never get off of work!) and when I opened the shipping package I noticed the actual Nexus box with the stickers on it saying "If this seal is broken, do not accept", the seals were in fact, broken. A bit disappointed, I figured since they were already tore I might as well look inside. Everything inside looks completely perfect and doesn't seem to be tampered with at all. As you see in my signature, it hasn't stopped me from using it (and loving it!) but I was just curious to know if anyone else had this happen. The tears aren't clean, and actually look like they could have occurred during shipping (that's what I'm telling myself anyways), but I've kept all the static wrapping on the device for the time being in case an issue comes up I can report the broken seal on arrival...hopefully their support doesn't read this thread. Haha.

I got two from walmart, both with something similar. One sticker on both looked like it was perforated, almost torn, while the other sides sticker was fine. Both from different Walmarts.

I was wondering what you guys have done with your old Nexus 7 or any recommendations on what I should do with mine. Mine is 32GB and still perfectly functional. I was thinking about using it as a media server but I'm not sure how useful that would be. I'd rather not have it just sit here and collect dust.
Thanks ahead of time.

Try to impress a date and bring it with you on a boat, only to fall into the water (happened to me.)
But seriously,
1. Ebay if you want to sell it fast, tho you probably won't get as much as you want for it, plus ebay and paypal fees sting.
2. Craigslist if you want to risk getting robbed.
3. Give to niece/nephew if you have them as a christmas present.
4. Keep it and wait 20 years until it becomes a collectors item, then sell it for bookoo bucks!!
5. Learn to develop games/apps with it.
6. Use it as a coaster.

I only suggest using the old one to dev on just in case something goes completely wrong and it gets ruined. I don't know much about android development, so I don't know if its even possible to brick the N7, but just as a cautionary measure, I would rather use an older device than a brand new one JUST IN CASE.

Oh, it's possible. Believe you me, you can do it. It's just a bit harder to kill a Nexus device in most situations.
I can confirm it makes a great coaster. I'm starting to lose interest in flashing new ROMs every few months, but I may repurpose my Nexus 7 into a HUD unit of sorts to mount over my desk.

People said "you can easily find the answer to this in a minute", I did easily find the answer, because when i searched google, this is the thread that came up..
They won't. I used my old Note 3 case on my Note 4 and discovered that the Note 4 is actually taller; thus stretching the case.

I currently have a Note 3 in a Trident Kraken case. I wear it around my neck with a double ended lanyard clipped into the outside bumpers on the case. I really like this. I have not found a Note 4 case that facilitates this double lanyard connection. It seems that Trident has moved away from cases with the outside bumpers. So, the answer to the question is... cases are not all the same.
Nope, the Note 3 has a different design from the Note 4.
