Hi,
Just to let you know that you have your own forum.
Look HERE
Hello!
I've installed our alpha build for Nexus S and installed Gapps. Than I tried the ART function instead... It worked..with Google services FCs.
So I believe that it could work as long as we flash compatible google apps?
What do you guys think?
I'd really like to see ART in action on my Nexus S
ART FC too
Im try and FC all GAPPS too... then reboot.
In dalvik all Ok
I've heard of ART. I understand it is suposto make apps quicker. Is there a sticky FAQ on ART VS DALVIC virtual machine?
You need to get odexed gapps to get ART working, here's one from a build for the N4:

So do you believe art on nexus s would work with those gapps?
I will give it a try later today.

Assuming the Nexus 4 and S both use the same gapp builds than I'd assume yes. If they use different builds of gapps normally, then someone would need to make an odexed build of them for the S. But I'm curious how it goes, turning on ART on mine would be nice, anything to eek out a little more speed would be awesome.
Use latest PA GApps
Whatsapp doesnt work with ART for me... Also it kind of screws up my system. I'll just stick to dalvic...

Firefox or another third party browser seems to work for the web, but google now will still be messed up... I am sure you installed correctly, but a clean install may help with ART?? You could try odexing, I liked how that worked with ART (minus the 15min initial boot time??) I don't like the gel / 4.4 laucher, I use Nova with no issues (not the 4.4 beta).. Devil kernel works well with this rom and has more available ram.. I did the full setup and restore of all my apps before switching to ART with no issues and no issues switching to ART after odexing..
If some one use openpdoide you cant use ART (mabye it will be fixed). I tried it an the whole system rebooted.....
AMAZING! I knew Android 4.4 is optimized for devices that only have 512 MB memory, but I thought that is just another Project Butter: won't be very obvious on low-end devices. As soon as I loaded CM 11, I found out I was wrong. It just bring my Nexus S back to life and I can't believe this is the successor of CM 10.2. Don't know how good it will be after switch to ART. Although I have a Nexus 4, I just feel happy that I don't need to throw this phone away.
I will try pa gapps .thx !
I am using [UNOFFICIAL][ROM][4.4][21112013] CyanogenMod 11 for Samsung Nexus S with Devil Kernel on ART. It works ok, but device gets really SLOW from time to time. With that I mean it is unusable for more than 5min.
It might be the kernel, I flashed Euroskank CM11 now and won't flash any kernel to see whats going on.
I am usign THOSE GAPPS.

Recently, when looking for a ROM for my Nexus 7 (2013) I found, that those guys actually also build ROMs for our Z3C. Been using them for several months now and I am very satisfied - very stable ROM.
So here you go:
www.exodus-developers.net/exodus-5.1/z3c/
Xposed users:
Wipe Cache + Dalvik after flashing Xposed. Wipe also after recovering apps with Titanium Backup with already installed Xposed.
Exodus Updater - like in CyanDelta you can add additional zips to be flashed with ROM updates (find it in settings), like custom kernel / Xposed /... (M5 kernel is awesome and works great with Exodus)

Mods: If this is the wrong place for the thread or offends anyone in any way: sorry, please remove it. Just wanted to post it, where people usually watch out for ROMs, so they find it quickly - I didn't see an Exodus thread yet in Z3C sections.

Sadly, yes. Didn't find a custom ROM without it yet. Also got it in stock, but the effect is not as strong there. Still no clean pic with Z3C, neither in stock nor in any custom ROM. Anyway a very good ROM.

Well, there is no ROM-thread for Z3C Exodus build... I'm not the creator nor the maintainer of the build, just found it and wanted to share the link, so it's hard for me to say how good the support is, didn't need it yet - everything works fine on my device. Not one single random reboot with Xposed since I use this ROM.
If you need support you probably should watch out on G+ (read pinned post!):

Great ROM, been running it for months, Devs are aggressive on bug fixing.
What is the base of the ROM ?
I also installed it today. Wisely many things are not added in this rom, like camera, calendar, music. 9th October build is going into bootloop bcoz of xposed installer, anyone having similar issues

I'm using it with M5 permissive kernel and Slim Zero Gapps. Try this config, works great for me, no bootloops. You should wipe cache and dalvik directly after flashing Xposed, without doing this you will probably run into a bootloop or get a system starting and constantly rebooting after system is up. Use latest version (v75 arm) of Xposed.

You could easily give it a shot with MultiROM. I'm too lazy to list everything here... ;-P
There are quite a few things. Most important ones for me personally are the customizable clear all button in recents, customizable navigation bar height, double tap to sleep on lockscreen (double tap anywhere) and four tiles per row in quick settings. I also like it to be able to deactivate navigation ring as I never use it and it only gets on my nerves when accidentally swiping over the navigation bar.
It is not this rom version but you can say build after 5th October causing this kind of problem. May be some minor bug with latest builds

No problem with bootloops except one case:
1) Factory Reset
2) Flash ROM
3) Flash M5 (permissive) kernel (for V4A)
4) Flash Xposed v75 arm
5) Wipe cache & dalvik
6) Boot up system
7) Restore many (300+) apps with Titanium Backup
In this case ROM will reboot shortly after TB is closed and a few seconds after system is running and up it will reboot and do this again and again until the battery is empty.
Solution: Boot to recovery, wipe cache & dalvik again. Everything should be fine now, no more bootloops.
This behavior also occurs on CM12.1 nightlies for me so seems to have nothing to do with the ROM itself but rather CM base.

Yes. Do not wipe system at any cost before flashing this ROM because you'll mess up the device. Always wipe data, DALVIK and cache before flashing and flash the ROM

True
This ROM is a modified MiUi ROM. You'll just need to wipe data, dalvik and cache before flashing the ROM no matter which ROM you had before wiping.
If you have any battery bugs and issues, switch off the phone and charge it because a battery cycle is required after every ROM flash.

Hi All
I have searched through the forums but have not come across what has caused or how to easily fix my Error 7 problem.
I have TWRP backups of B15 B19 B32 as well as ASOP_EX RR CrDroid that I can switch between without any problems.
The orig Roms are on the SdCard as well however every one give an Error 7 when I try installing.
Is there an answer to what caused the problem and what will cure the problem in case I encounter this prob in the future.
Thanks for all input in advance.
please give more details of error 7
Status-Error 7 signifies incompatible ROM however the Roms are the originals that the backups were made from. Using TWRP 3.1.1.0, perhaps I need a different version, also not sure if signature verification should be checked or not, currently unchecked.
Maybe because you have the Universal Bootloader installed? Try flashing a stock bootstack before (be sure it's the same bootstack than the ROMs, just to be sure)
Since I have Fastboot with B32 then it sounds like I must have the Universal Bootloader

At the moment the only custom ROM that I know of that flashes with B32 is latest/last build of Dark ROM (where B32 is a requirement).
I tried other existing ROMs and they would not flash on B32. Option was to downgrade or use Universal Bootloader, which I did.
Dark ROM is my favorite but I still like to jump around so I had no choice.
Same thing happened when B25 was new and was a requirement for a ROM or two. Then-existing ROMs wouldn't flash on that either.
All the bootstack stuff was odd for me coming from the LG G3. There I could flash anything from KitKat to Oreo. Bootstacks were/are not an issue there.

Ah, I see. That version of Dark ROM is too old. You want the 1102 build. Head on over to the thread and pick it up from there.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3654264
[ROM][LOS14.1][7.1.2_r29] DARK ROM [OMS][Pixel features][Delta updates][11/02]
Don't forget, it has no apps, keyboard, or launcher so you'll want to either pick up the Dark Gapps or the Extras package (includes all the LOS default apps and Trebuchet).
Signature spoofing is built in so the Extras package is the one to get if you're going the microG route. If you're looking to use NanoMod-Full or Shadow53's no-gapps.zip (both include a bunch of apps and launcher) you wouldn't necessarily need Extras, but...
You'll still need a contacts and dialer. Maybe keyboard. You can extract Extras, remove anything you don't want/need, and repack.
I've made several zips from that to account for different situations. One has just contacts, dialer, calculator, and keyboard. Anything else will be provided by the aforementioned microG packages or installed manually (via F-Droid, Yalp Store, Play Store).

Thanks a million. I use a Tablet sim so a dialer and sms is not required ( voip.ms and TextNow ). Too bad Extras was not based on Aroma. I use DW Contacts, not sure if I need contacts for the storage. I did want to try the microG route, may need some help there. In the extras package, just delete the directory I don't want or is there editing in the updater script to do?
@2CanSan, just deleting the directories seems to be enough.
Ooh, I like the idea of an Aroma-based Extras package. I need something to do so maybe I'll do some learning about Aroma.
I doubt the dev will mess with that as it probably low priority.

Xposed (FakeGapps module?) isn't needed since Dark ROM has signature spoofing built in.
There are three main installation providers out there.
NanoMod: Full, microG, and F-Droid zips. Full includes everything (apps, a launcher, Zelda ringtones, etc). There's also an Aroma setup wizard allowing you to choose what you want. After that you would flash a zip, like Full.
NanoMod can be in system or as a Magisk module.
If one has no intention of using paid/licensed apps or don't want to use Play Store (just say no to Google [grin]] one can opt to install Yalp Store instead.
ale5000's installer includes microG and F-Droid. Basic.
As of late I've been using Shadow53's zips. Separate zips. microG, microG w/Play Store, F-Droid, and his no-gapps zip, among others.
The no-gapps zip has a nice selection of apps including latest Firefox. And DAVdroid for syncing contacts and calendar.

Finally I believe I have the Error 7 sorted out. Correct me if I am wrong.
For DarkRom and the Project New World Oreo Rom you need to flash B32 Bootloader.
For all the other current ROMs flash the B15 Bootloader.
And curiously does Bootloader=Bootstack just different terms?
