Sign documents on TP2 touchscreen?

Does anybody know of an app that would allow me to sign my name on the screen, and the paste my signature onto documents ? I have searched around the freewre sites pretty good, but come up empty handed. Seems like it would be like a pretty easy app to code, I mean pretty straightforward I'm no dev but it seems like something that could be done. And it seems like something obvious to have for smartphones, considering all the business users. I'd imagine more than half of all documents that people email you and want back probably require nothing more or little more than a handwritten signature. Does such a thing exist ?

I thought one could just sign his name using Draw in Notes, then uncheck Draw, and then select the signature by making the motion of two sides of a rectangle and re-sizing the box that appears- but pasting it into Word Mobile didn't work like it does in the Windows versions of Office. Perhaps One Note Mobile?

[Q] Monitor Samsung opensource site?

It would have been so easy for the thread title to be misleading, so I tried not to do that.
So, I know that Samsung posts their source on opensource.samsung.com, and from there, I usually type in "D700" to see if they've posted anything new for our Epics (like the latest kernel source)..
I also have this link: http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/reception_main.do?method=reception_list&menu_item=mobile that is just a running list of their mobile related open source stuff.
Now for the question: Does anyone know of a way, maybe through an rss reader?, to monitor the site for something like 'changes to page including "D700".?
I've done this before in google reader and with Google Alerts, but the way their site is set up makes it more difficult.
Hopefully this thread does better than this one..or this one as, I have a knack for wondering interesting topics.

Sorry, I do not have the complete answer. When you search on that site, the results page appears to be at http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/reception_main.do?method=reception_search&searchValue=D700
Perhaps you could have something check that URL for changes, especially for the number of lines in the table.

I have one setup for HTC Website - i get an email usually minutes after something changes.

Its not impossible..BUT they always released the source code after they officially released it to the public..usually a day or so...so you would know when source is available in advanced...
or are you hoping for a glitch in their system where they make the code accidently available? lol

I'm surprised that's offered for free, seems like it would take considerable resources to run (especially if changes really do get noted that quickly).

Not really..you can read the headers first for changes..the header is a few bytes long...then if you see a change in the header you load the site..and you don't load all the images...just the text portion which averages like 10kb or so (but most sites use gzip so its even less)...in comparison video streaming is 100000x more bandwidth intensive..

if by "hoping," you mean "feverishly obsessing," then, yes.

This just reminded me of a related question:
With some forums, I can copy the URL (say, Epic 4G Development section), paste into Google Reader, which would hopefully populate with updates to the specific section. However, with XDA and Google Reader, doing gives me EVERY update from xda.. which defeats the purpose. it seems like all of the forums/threads are parallel.
Anyone know of a way to do this?

[IDEA] Creating a simple app that grabs info from website/server.

I am in no means a proficient programmer. I have done some programming though. I know the most extreme basics.
I had a eureka moment today at work. We have typhoons here and we readily check the current weather conditions. Well, the local weather website is slow and the main means of communication is a Facebook fan page.
I was wondering how hard would it be to have an app grab info from a server and just display it. That's about it. Maybe some polish and fancy animations.
I don't think it would be much more than a few lines.

Edit: Or open a .com and make a simple, secure form that let's you selection from options that forwards that info to the app.

this has been done. its called an rss reader

Well... if you want to get technical. Most apps do this that connect to the internet.
I'm not looking for a RSS. I'm just looking to display a very specific string of text that would be very useful to the residents of the island I live on.

Seriously I would consider RSS, even if it is a widget which gets set to a single rss feed. It is what RSS was designed for, chances are the info you are after is available as RSS, otherwise it is very easy to create & host one.
The alternative is nasty if you end up parsing a site, since a single change to the site and the app is dead. Plus it would be a lot of work for something which can be very simple.

Hmm. Fair enough. Can you do widgets on the iphone? I was going to port it there too.

I've not done any android widgets or iphone. But if you are lucky you might find some suitable code somewhere for a basic RSS widget, RSS is quite a common way to do things (since you download a single file and parse the xml).
You may even find there are already apps out there which allow you to set a single rss feed for displaying in a widget. But I guess you are after something you can put in the market yourself.
The RSS feed itself is easy:

i.e. feedweaver.net
There are some which will monitor pages for changes too, depending on what you need.
Otherwise you can diy, Howto Create an RSS 2.0 Feed - http://www.petefreitag.com/item/465.cfm and host the file yourself (i.e. dropbox public links or FileDen, anywhere which hosts a file with direct links).
I would recommend using Google Feedburner to set your rss feed address and then link it to your file (this means you can move your file around without requiring the feed link to change).
Of course if you can find the info already available as an RSS feed, then you can re-feed it through Feedburner so you have control of it (if it changes you can change your links without changing your app).

You might also want to check out the word-of-the-day widget in the Android SDK. It grabs very specific information from a dictionary web site and displays it using an app widget.

How can I get my Iconia to display Huffington Post in the normal way and Not the Blackberry view. I can type in the adderss ---.com and it adds /Blaackberry.

Most browsers have a setting where it "declares" itself as a mobile or a desktop version. Some sites show a different page depending on what the browser says. For me, I have set my Dolphin browser to say it's a desktop, and problem solved. I can't help you with the default one though, I have removed it some time ago.

Go to Settings -> Advanced and change Viewing mode to Desktop. Should help you with most of the sites, but there are still ones that recognize it as a mobile device. My Desire HD opens the desktop version but the Iconia is still recognized as a mobile device
EDIT: Just tried it with the site you want to open - unfortunately it's the mobile version again.

Most sites now also have a link, usually in the header or footer of the content, to switch to "Full view" or something similar...
Edit: huff post has a View Desktop option at the bottom, click it. Enjoy.

Nothing youve suggested works. Always goes to /Blackberry.
There is no desktop toggle at the bottom, nor a relative setting. I am set to desktop though.

Did you try clearing your cache, etc. The tablet may have some residual info of the site and loads it that way to optimize the load time.
If you clear the cache, and navigate directly to the desktop site, you might be ok.

I doubt it would work because I have never opened the site the OP wants in desktop mode and still got the mobile version.

To the OP. Write an email to them telling their webmaster to get off his dead azz and find an up to date script that detects user agent correctly instead of the ancient one he's using.
That's the only way you're going to be able to see the site the way you'd like to.

Nokia Developer - Remote Device Access (Diag Tools for Lumias)

I've been using their service for a while now.
This is a service offered free to people who have Nokia accounts who sign up a developer account (which is also free.)
It's purpose is to let developers use a Windows Phone that might not have access to one. It allows you to deploy xaps directly to the phone and offers a number Nokia devices. Not all of them are Windows Phones, and some are in other languages besides English. Some of the Windows Phone devices have SIMs in them and some of them actually have phone numbers where you can call it. A new feature that's available is the onboard cameras have been enabled on the Lumia 820, 920, 925 and the 1020. I'll take screenshots when I can.
The Phone is sideways for photos, so here's the screenshot of the about page.

NOTE: I've noticed with the 928, the device lags really behind. SO FAR BEHIND, the frames you might be seeing are from minutes ago.
EDIT 1: Simply exiting the program and starting it up again possibly remedies the video lag issue. Doesn't always work, but it worked well enough to make a video finally.
EDIT 2: There isn't much info about on the ODDT from Nokia. I've uploaded and embedded the videos demonstrating the oem diagnostic tool and some other stuff I did in the session.
Sorry about the first video. Its mostly in monochrome due to the settings I had at the start of the video. After some time into the diagnostics portion I had bumped the quality to 3 or so where it displays color and animation at a decent rate.

The SIM applications are standard STK apps from the operator, they have been there since the early GSM phones. I used to read the joke of the day from my operator's SIM apps on my Nokia 3310 ?

I was really hoping someone could give some info about the SIM apps that were included, I can't read the text and I don't recognize the carrier either.
I didn't know much about SIM apps previously. Verizon has never used SIMs until they started using LTE.

Apparently these devices are pre-production. This is evident when browsing the directory of the remote devices. Also, note that the diagnostic tool there supports different usb modes too, so thats good news. Now, how to export the app remotely...........

I have taken a look at the app, it's not much interesting anyway as we can't deploy it to non-interop devices.

There are just things like Weather. Joke of the Day, Customer service etc. Nothing too interesting, just leftovers from pre-smartphone era

You cant sideload The App...the App requires the interop-service...maybe its possible to download the ROM of the developer device and flash it to other lumias...

Well, apparently you can append a customization package along with the regular ROM, but I only know that from Data Package Manager always marking the ROM with an exclamation mark in the field.
