Hi, i have a Motorola Defy (green lens).
I want to reflash the offical firmware, but i receive errors at all firmware, what i tried.
The error code is: Error verifying Code Group 33 cheksums. File: 0x1F42 Phone: 0x4805
The two numbers depends on firmware types..
I am clueless, i hope, i am not alone with this problem.
Sorry, for my bad English.

Hey I have same problem and my phone still code Corrupt
Try a different sbf and check the ti blank flash option
Sent from my MB526 using xda premium
Try a different computer with a more recent copy of rsd lite...head such issues in the past......flashed the sbf through my office pc
Same result..
I had completed the reflashing steps on another computer, with a newer version of RSD Lite and drivers, but the result is the same..
I also tired the 'Blank Flash' option, without success.
Did you have any ideas?
Thanks,
Gabor

I tried all of Central EU sfb-s, no one is working :/
unfortunately looks to be a hardware issue then
You can check if the cable is fine, that could also perhaps lead to this problem

Not possible, you can't do it without root according to me (you'll have to search around)

yup i kno that too but on ur suggested thread i got a link THIS indicating STOCK ROMs......these are stcok or NOT.....if not then which is...n if there is no stock ROM then for rooting which ROM should I use....
I think you have a misconception. The thread link I gave I think referred to the sbf stock ROM with boot loader version 7
For rooting you have to flash the two sbfs(stock roms) as I referred to earlier.

still no joy im having a nightmare i keep having to mvgyver which works ok, but rsd wont recognise my phone i have only bootloader no m logo or anything everytime i try flash im getting groupsum errors n fail ive tried all thr sbf mentioned in threads im so so stuck id pay someone to flash n sort it at this rate
If your getting checksum errors then all you can do is try another pc or cable, if it doesn't work then I'm not aware of any software means to revive the phone

a friend of mine gave me his bricked defy and asked me for help.
it will not turn on at all but when i connect it to my pc the white led turns on and it's recognized by rsd-lite.
as always, i flashed JORDN_U3_97.21.51.sbf which always does the trick, but this time it did the same thing as any other sbf - nothing.
i tried searching of answers but eventually every advise i found was to flash JORDN_U3_97.21.51.sbf...
any help would be appreciated.
Does it display any error after flashing.?
Sent from my XT912 using Tapatalk 2
nothing, just returns to same condition it was.
You sure the battery is charged enough for a flash.?
Sent from my XT912 using Tapatalk 2
yes, i charged it with another defy. about 70%.
try this

same thing

isn't it a defy+ sbf?
Yes, that's why I'm suggesting it as a last resort
Sent from my MB526 using Tapatalk 2
what are the chances it will work? i'll scared i'll totally brick it. it's 100% not a defy+
Zero percent chance of bricking
Only problem is that there may be problems in the stock rom, which can be fixed by installing cm10 or cm10.1
By problem I mean no camera or battery not charging to the full level but again these can be fixed by upgrading to cm10 or 10.1

it worked! the defy finally booted!
thanks a lot man!
so does that means that my friend flashed a defy+ sbf in the first place?

I think he flashed a wrong sbf
obviously, but usually jordn 97.21.51 fixes any wrong sbf flashing.
If device boot loader version is 7, then only defy + sbfs work(usually because of wrong flashing of a sbf)
Had that not been the case your initial sbf would've worked.

thanks to you I saved my defy..2 week of search (no bootloader and black screen) by flashing dfp231
hi guys.
I've tried unsuccessfully to install the ROM White Rabbit. Following the instructions, i have installed the kernel, zip files, and then went fail, factory reset and set off for repair.
So I've install SBF files, root, and sdinit, CM10 ROM flash.
the phone is back to normal, except that all calls are completely muted and unable to connect on HSPA network as before.
any suggestions? I need another kernel? please help me, thanks
Sorry for my english!
Sent from my MB526 using xda app-developers app
Network issue: baseband switcher
Muted calls: probably the same issue, but if you cannot fix it, try a system wipe and clean install
Sent from my MB526 using Tapatalk 2
I've tried change the baseband, but no one solve the problem.
I did a full wipe again, and nothing new. Do you suggest a factory reset to the original Motorola version and do all the process since the beginning?
Sent from my MB526 using xda app-developers app
If no baseband works, copy over baseband from stock in which radio works. You should start from beginning, and don't forget system wipe before install cm10

Tks!
