InceCream For Stock - XPERIA X8 General

I need a rom Ics IceCream Shandwich for stock Kernel
that work

well you won't get any that functions fully. but check out devstaff's attempt here in the x8 sub fora.

You won't get! On stock there's just 165mb of ram,in custom kernels 185mb !
I recommend you to stay on gb roms

Yeah, Ice Cream Sandwich on stock is almost impossible to make.
Better to stay on Gingerbread or Froyo.

Bug fix update coming - not ICS

Not looking good for ICS...
http://briefmobile.com/motorola-atrix-4g-update-4-5-141-coming-february-7th-its-not-android-4-0
We have CM9 on its way, and lot of mods with ICS stuffs on it, why still wait for ICS from Motorola...
Enjoy the Custom mods....
For now at least, those of us using the webtop are stuck with blur based roms, which makes the idea of an official ICS very appealing.
For now only razr is beeing worked, after all omap 44xx devices get ICS, since are easier to port, "We will provide ICS to other devices."

I don't like Ics which Gb rom is the most stable right now?

I really don't like the ics design..
I had darkyrom 10.2 with sempore kernel....
but had a lot of Fc... is there a better rom out there? or should I stay with stock rom 2.3.6?
Thanks.
Try cyanogenmod 7.2 it's Gingerbread 2.3.7 if I'm not mistaken. Otherwise a stock rom.

JW5 or JW6 are praised among some.
JVZ, JVW, JW1,-4,-5,-6 have all crippled MediaProvider.apk (because of Apple policy).
None of these ROMS will index m4a audio files correctly and skip Album artwork.
Won't hurt to click thanks... (promise)
you have to try Gamerz rom by burakgon
when you try it you won't try another one, that what i did

I used Gamerzrom v11. Very good indeed. Now using DMORE3.3 - definately the best GB rom out now. 100% stable and great features.

What ROM do you currenly use?

Hey,
So, what ROM do you currenly use on your Xperia ARC \ ARC S?
I'm currently using SE ICS 4.0.4 official ROM
What's yours?

Error in temple run? What an interesting Rom.
I'm using arconium ICS with arcknight kernel
Arconium 4 with KTG kernel, I dont know but I dont have any bugs, by far the best ROM for arc/s is super fast and smooth (I tried every ROM in xda for arc s)
There really is not any competition to jjdoctor's ROM.

dude, we're using same rom
and about that, I haven't found any problem with sensor beside temple run as I only use few apps using accelerometer
Flash the Xperia S ICS rom yesterday and I must admit it is so much better than the arc S update. Don't know why they didn't use this rom for all of the Xperia 4.04 updates!

MooDeD Paranoid Android CM9 v1 with FXP Kernel.
Been using it less than a day & finding it really smooth & the Tablet UI is a nice addition. Also Drive, GMail & Calendar are far more usable with the Tablet interface compared to the usual Phone interface.
This is my first custom ROM & Kernel combo I've used, before I've just customized stock 4.0.3 & 4.0.4 to remove bloatware or used jjs ROM for locked B/L.

[DISCUSSION] Android 2.3.5 for Stock: Better?

Lukenda has claimed at least twice that this particular version of Gingerbread (2.3.5) runs better on stock kernel... His opinion.
So, come on Lukenda, tell us more.
Anyone who has toyed with this version is more than welcomed to chime in.
One particular thing worth noticing is that no stable release of CyanogenMod is based around 2.3.5.
MiniCM7 2.0.7 is based on 2.3.5 and it's stable
yes i did and i based it on a long time of using them.
there is a stable 2.3.5 rease by nAa
,there are few minor bugs but i dont mind them.
try to use minicm7 2.0.7 and some 2.3.7
rom such as gdx.
make a comparison between those two and test battery speed in apps such as YouTube and internet browsers.
All games I have been able on 7 rom were playable on .5 rom.
Please test for your self and report.

Let me repeat myself. there's no stable release of CyanogenMod based around 2.3.5: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/CyanogenMod_7_Changelog
Stable release, as in final release, as opposed to a nightly release or a release candidate.

*Sigh*
I was really hoping for something better than that. Your claim that the 2.3.5 is indeed better is totally unfounded.
The only thing you are left with after that kind of testing is that for your use MiniCM is better than other ROMs and the hypothesis that it might be because of the android version.
You could have at the very least get your hands on GingerDX v015 to test your claim.
And if anyone is interested in actual testing, a proper way would be to compare GingerDX v015 to GingerDX v016.
To take it a step further comparing XGin 5.4 to XGin 6.0 and kuyaDROID v3.2.175 to v.4.3.233 (which I think was the next available release) would be needed.
I still have the original nAa's GB (2.3.5 for stock kernel) rom, so if anybody is interested in testing that rom, i'll ask nAa if i could reupload it on MF if nobody finds a working link .

Which rom should I use

Well I have a r800x unlocked BL nd was wondering what exactly is the best rom/kernel combination for my play
I'm not big on the gaming functionality but do want camera and wifi Bluetooth stuff like that and I was also wanting a JB rom bad but ICS will do if the JB is too unstable
So yea XDA tell me what your choices are
Sent from my GBTweaked v7.1 r800x using Tapatalk 2
To be honest my first choice would be to tell you to check out miui-australia(its got its own kernel & its ics)... But only because its got loads of space...very stable, but aokp is good also (With wedgess lupus cm9 based kernel)...thats just me tho... As for jb I personally haven't tested any... But here good things about cj's slimbean port...
Sent from my R800x
Check out Slimbean with Turbo kernel.
If you want something a little more stable, try regular CM9 or MIUI Australia.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire
I had to revert to FXP CM9 with the Adreno ICS driver, the driver didn't work with SlimBean for me. Still, stock GB 2.3.4 is fastest for gaming.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
I would suggest the P.A.C.man ROM. It's got bugs, but I never thought my play would be this smooth. With 4.1.2, my phone is relevant again!
I never really liked miui as I flashed it to my brothers Droid x and it was to ummm.....IOS'ee for me love the look of aosp the best

I'm using FXP 151 with latest lupus v9 kernel. This latest kernel update was awesome.
Pretty smooth and no problems at all untill now.
I would like to try a Jelly Bean based rom, tough. Haven't decided witch one...

This thread was obviously missed when it was started but best ROM threads shouldn't be posted as there is no such thing as "best ROM", it's all down to what suits you best so try them yourself and find what's best for you.
Thanks
