Official ICS Relaunch on Verizon - Galaxy Tab 7.7 General

Any thoughts on when this might take place?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2

Wondering that myself. I wonder if it will be a different build?

If it has to go thru the Verizon approval process again I'd say 4+ months

If you are waiting on this to get to ICS from HC, I would suggest going with Electron's full ICS build in the dev forum. It's all good and you have can have it now, plus who knows when the "official" will be released. Other factor to consider is that it is unlikely that we are going to get any more OTA builds, so you may as well go rogue now. Just my 2 cents.

Gingerbread Confusion???

I know there are about 12,000 threads on Gingerbread, but I have yet to see anyone point out a link or a website or anything where we can go to confirm when Gingerbread has been OFFICIALLY released for the Epic 4G. The last I heard on these forums, it was last slated for the last week of July. It's now the last day of July, but I don't see any posts about an official release and how/where to get it. And I keep seeing the word "STOCK" in the mod rom forum, which is confusing...have they officially released Gingerbread for the Epic 4G yet? If not, is there a new date for it's release? Is there a website or specific thread that I can routinely check that will announce when it's out? I just saw a thread showing a leaked pic about the EOL for the Epic 4G in October of this year. Having just switched from the Tilt 2 on AT&T to the Epic 4G on Sprint 2 months ago, I'm not fond of seeing that my new phone will be out of date in another 2 months.
Can anyone clear up some of this confusion?
Thanks.

there is no official release date. what you see in development are leaks.
No official release yet. Just leaks.

That's just when they are going to stop manufacturing new ones. There's plenty of development left to come. Right now it looks like a possible September release for the official. These leaks come out and its almost as if we are Samsung's beta testers used to search out the glitches. The EG22 leak is actually pretty good. If you are big on GPS use, you may want to go with the EE03 modem. As far as an official release date, as soon as its known, you will se a thread here with a link to the source of the info almost immediately. Try out a few of the GB ROMs here. There are some very nice ones. If you want a Froyo ROM that has everything working, try SRF 1.2 or Urban Regeneration.

But also, according to Tweets from Samfirmware, they have information of two builds to be released Mid and/or late August at least from what I've gathered, so we've leaks but we're close to a possible Official Release.
A while back didn't someone say that Samsung guaranteed us two more updates? I couldn't even attempt to find the thread it was mentioned in, can't remember any title it would belong to.

Yup, I was told that by someone on G-Talk as well. I was told 2 more leaks by the end of August. That's why I said maybe September. I don't mind. Let them fix that modem. Let the GPS get fixed at least as good as Froyo and the stock browser and such. The leaks are good enough to keep people happy for now. I am patient. I still use Froyo as my daily.

In an ideal world I'd like to think so, but for that they probably in the end would want more premium accounts and possibly couldn't deliver something as pivotal as that, I'd like to hope I'm proven wrong honestly.

Smart move on Asus' part. Release the update three days "early", and suddenly everybody's so pitifully grateful to get what Google should've made a year ago, that they've forgotten all about the delivery delays, faulty GPS, problematic Wifi and Bluetooth, downgraded monaural audio, etc. etc.
And all they had to do was make a slightly conservative promise on a delivery date, then move it three days earlier.
Would be nice to wake up to ics update. Correct me of I'm wrong but those of us that are rooted and flashed a custom ROM would have to unroot to receive an Fota update right?

I haven't forgotten anything: I wanted that Prime so bad I could hardly stand it, but after all the screwups and ASUS's refusal to fix them, I'll be taking delivery of a TF101 in about two days. $500 is simply too much to buy into that kind of trouble, but I still believe in the tablet/ultrabook idea.
This is just great news. I'm anxiously awaiting the TF101 ICS update. Great job, ASUS!

It helps us in the sense that if the AT&T ICS build is near enough complete to be shown ofd at CTIA and leaked, one must imagine the international can't be far behind.

I care. It's a load of crap that a branded (AT&T, none the less) phone has leaks before the international version does. We do not have a stable/usable ICS version yet that doesn't present bricking as a possible outcome.... extremely frustrating.

Midteam 1.1 (CLP6) is great for me and more stable and faster than GB ROMs. I have more bugs and slow work at GB ROMs...
By the number of leaks and news regarding this, I bet we, N7000 users aren't gonna taste ICS anytime soon.

That is an i9220 repack based ROM and bricking your phone is a possible outcome every time you access CWM.

It'll be nice to have an official ICS release for the international Note if only for the purposes of ripping out the necessary drivers and framework tweaks needed to get an AOSP build work perfectly (hardware accelerated video, true S-Pen functionality, MHL output, USB OTG, etc...)
Such a day when this exists, will be glorious for the Note!

I do not care, go with this to at en t section ore post this in ics sticky thread.

From GS3 to Galaxy Nexus back to Gs3

So I sold my GS3 for a Galaxy Nexus because I wanted to experience Jelly Bean. Well after a week I'm back and heres why.
1. Screen bigger and better
2. Camera much better
3.phone felt much snappier(although I wasn't on Jellybean)
4.volume much louder and crisp
5.GSM Nexus had no LTE and below standard HSpa+ never over 6 mbps
So if your in to specs I say the Gs3 is the place for you.
Also if buying the Nexus off craigslist make sure it's able to receive the update the one I bought was on the wrong radio and was told it would not which Is why I sold it too.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Well, not to be bashful or anything, but I figured going with the GSIII was a given. Jelly Bean may be great, but it's not going to do anything to get the GNex up to GSIII standards. And no worries, GSIII will get it's fill of Jelly Bean goodness soon enough.
I had the galaxy nexus, I want on JB, I have no regrets switching.

No it won't. Official ics only just now rolled out for some sgs2 phones. The SDK was released in October of last year.
You might get some carrier leaks (buggy asz shiz) or cm10 (less buggy) but that will probably be many months.

Look up the change log and structure between those earlier android versions then go look at jelly bean compared to ics. Believe it or not the change isn't a complete overhaul, they meant for it to be that way.
Ps. there is already a beta jellybean on the international version, and we got cm9 and aokp within the first few weeks of the phone being out, the s3 is a whole nother beast compared to the s2

I really wasn't interested, if you haven't guessed yet.
I was making a point about JB not being easily ported compared to ics or gb.
Im no dev but the majority of ICS porting applies to JB. Under the hood they are very similar. Google Now, the new voice software, and the triple buffering (kernel level stuff) are the major differences. Google now is an APK and the voice isn't requiring a lot of work either I'm sure.
If we don't have a fairly strong jb aosp in a month I would be surprised.

I think it's pretty obvious that the jump from GB to ICS is what took so long. imagine trying to get all your current apps and data and customization to work with a new OS with zero hiccups and nothing lost. ICS is so completely different from GB, I'm not surprised it took so long. The jump to JB from ICS isn't nearly as large, as some people have pointed out. I'm banking on us getting it early Q4.

CM 10 doesn't require a bunch of new drivers or official blobs from Samsung so it should be rewrite of code and implementing the apps and such. If the SGS III got AOSP ICS in weeks I'd say cm 10 might be weeks away from the point source was released. I'm not positive cause I'm not on a computer, but I think Steve Kondik (Cyanogen) has the SGS III for T-Mobile. I'm no where near a PC (just my phone til Monday)... if he is on the device as the main team member, we are looking at great nightlys and then some.

I've been working on this for a bit tonight. So far I've got most of the things merged properly with the 4.2 structure. The code that OnSkreen released was only for 4.1.1, so there are a few things here and there that have to be accounted for. I should hopefully be able to begin building tomorrow.
