I was able to successfully install CWM on one HD2 and is now running Android on it.
Well that HD2 the touch screen no longer work. So i purchase another HD2 and attempt to do the same, but once I install Recovery 150, I go to AD Recovery and I get stuck on "GO GO GO!" CWM won't load. Can anyone give me suggestion to what might be the problem.
What I have tried so far.
1. I reload HSPL3 to 2.08.HSPL
2. Flash Task29
3. Flash Radio 2.25.50.14
4. Flash MAGLDR 1.13
5. Flash Recovery 150MB
then when I boot in to AD Recovery I get stuck on GO GO GO!.
When I Flash 250 or 400 I get FATAL in red.
SO i attempt to flash the OEM T-MO rom it hang at 8% and crash. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. I can get into the bootloader fine.

first off once you do HSPL you don't ever need to do it again, and the radio you flashed was 2.15.50.14? once you flash the radio you don't need to reflash it again, unless changing to a different one.
Now I would suggest to start back at task29,
then MGLDR 1.13,
redownload the partition in case of any corruption,
are you using win xp or 7?
if on win 7 right click on the daf and run as admin.
I know there's not much difference from what you said but maybe you have a corrupted download and it's messing things up.
Try using the toolkit, it does a really good job:
[2 Jun 11][v3.9] HD2 NAND Toolkit - All in one Toolkit for HD2 NAND Users
I'm using windows vista & i tried the HD2 NAND toolkit still the same result. :/
so i gave the freezer cooling theory a try and it works. Now I got another problem on hand i can only use the phone no more than 20-30 min at a time before it locks up.

i'm having exactly the same problem, i'm trying to install android because if i install the stock rom it stucks at the htc logo an when i install android it works for a few minutes but then it freezes
i've searched on google for it and they say that it can be a overheating problem
It was a touchscreen issue when i had this error. I had replaced the digitizer but the ribbon came loose during repair. If, when you boot to the tricolor screen (hold volume down + power), you dont see cotulla hspl 0x40 or 0x50 you have a touch screen problem.

Hi jimani, welcome to the forum. Please provide more information about your problem, which recovery? what size recovery partition? What have you tried? Hspl?
The more information you can give, the more likely someone will know what your problem is.

Hi Robbie,
Actually I tried every thing:
At the first time it was a touchscreen issue, I replaced it and try to reinstall the android rom; i used the toolkit 4.3 to flash.
1.HSPL3
2.WIPE(Task 29)
3.Radio-Leo-2.15.50.14
3.MAGLDR 1.13
4.Repartition 280MB for system, 5 for cash.
But when I tried to go in AD RECOVEY, my phone stuck 1234 GO,GO,GO.
I perform this steps on two htc hd2( one is T-Mobile) but no success.
Please help.
Justin.
did you install hspl 2.08 using hspl3?
Which recovery have you installed and how did you install it?
Have you tried an sd recovery, booted from ad sd dir?

Hi Robbie,
Yes I installed hspl 2.08 using hspl3.
After DFT MAGLDR Boot loader is loaded I install the partition after that I go in ad recovery to load the Clockwork Mod Recovery then... stuck!
When I tried to boot from the sd card it's say : SD open kernel failed .
I don't know may be I'm mixing things. can you provide me a clear step by step doc?
Thanks in advance.
Justin.
Am at work now, have you tried using hd2 toolkit to install your nand recovery?
Else to use an SD recovery, you have to specify the folder that the zImage and initrd.gz files are in, using magldr ad SD dir, then boot from ad SD.

Yes I tried many ways: hd toolkit, tools separately,...
also I tried to specify the folder that the zImage and initrd.gz files are in,but still giving that horrible message:SD open kernel failed
i tried to flash an android NAND for the 1st time and i installed the radio 2.15.50.14 and the HSPL 4 and MAGLDR 1.13 and i did as they said to flash the rom n my HD is stuck at the MAGLDR screen telling me NAND kernl open failed !!
thanks in advance
Yes i know what you forgot
Now u have magldr
But you need a ROM to flash which is loaded by magldr
Go to the nand android section and choose a rom you want to have . There are several ways to install a rom.. One is to flash clockworkmod (just search a little bit and you will find a how to )), with it u can flash a rom from your sd card
There is much to say, but u should read the stickie thread where you will get all information you have to know

2 possibles,, either bad download, download it again, or,, you select choose zip from sd card, and not install update.zip
You should try to install the zip manually?! there is an option to install a zip of you choice.. Browse for your zip and install it..

Hi,
Each ROM will probably have different CWM partitions to flash before you try loading the ROM.Make sure you flash correct one.
Then make a note of the ROM.CWM does not find the ROM for you.
In ad recovery, choose install ROM from zip, then choose ROM from zip,Then scroll up and down with volume button until you find you zip.
Also make sure you place zip on root of your card using a card reader.
This will avoid any corruption of data in the transfer process.

Just currious, check your sd card, since you have CWR windows do partition by CWR, use card reader to copy your rom then put on phone, ensure you have zip file extension not rar/7zip or other compression type.
I have a problem too.

There are many possibilities on this case : Check your ROM and ensure matching with yur CWR Partition lay out, i.e some rom with 150 MB partition lay out, need 158 MB partition lay out
For your phone can not go into bootloader, its clueless for me. Wether the hardware failure or bootloader corrupts.
Please also check hold vol Up and Down + Power Button to reach DEFAULT FACTORY RESET MODE, also check the red button inside the phone : open battery cover there is reset small red button. Just push (with pen/pencil) and what happening
cheers up
Hello everybody,
I can't seem to find an answer to this, though it seems to be a rather basic question.
Is it possible to run two different Android roms on one HD2?
I am currently running Hyperdroid cm7 (Clk-version) and would like to try either a MIUI Rom or a beta-ICS SD-Version, anyone know if and how this would be possible?
Thanks in advance, JW
sure is, through magldr, choose boot ad sd to boot to sd android, or boot ad nand to boot to nand. then, in magldr - services, you can set which you preffer to auto boot, or you can set it to always show the magldr menu and let you decide which to boot.
Thanks for the answer, though I'm not sure I'm willing to go back to Magldr, i like being able to charge my phone while its off.
Thank you though
and just how often is your phone off? mine hasnt been off for, oh, 18 months,,,
You are right on that one, but when I was used Magldr I used to be paranoid about my battery dying since I would have to somehow turn my phone on so it can charge (I am not sure if that would even be a problem, but I feel safe now ) - hope you understand what I mean - in my head it kinda makes sense^^
hehe, in teh event of a dead battery, an old usb cable with teh end cut off, red and black wires bared and held to the battery + and - for 60 seconds will give the battery enough juice to start booting and charging starts halfway thru booting.

I was running WP7 and SD AS for long time and wanted to try NAND but when I tried to boot from SD again it would boot loop NAND boot screen. I flashed WP7 back to NAND and SD works, so I think there is something in the boot partition to allow for SD boot in WP7 build and not in the NAND since most of them use SD-EXT.
I also want to try out ICS, but need easy access to my daily SD (ACA)
I had the same problem. I learned only few Kernels are able to boot SD Builds via Magldr, as described in following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1375554
I changed to a different Kernel that actually worked for me. But now I stuck at another problem. I wanted to apply a glitch fix but it seems that broke my SD AD .

War_child,
Which kernel should be changed then, i'm little confused. The NAND or SD. This might be a dead end since I would like to try ICS on NAND instead of WP7

Seems like the other Kernels are scanning NAND for Android and only if nothing is found they boot from SD. But I'm no dev so it's just a guess
Well here is the problem:
1. My HD2's usb port is broken!:crying:
2. I am a native SD user, with MAGLDR but no AD Recovery installed whatsoever!
3. I had an Old BoyPPC DHD base sense 2.1 froyo rom on NAND(V23 i guess)(Since USB is dead, i cant flash ANYTHING!)
3. By mistake from 4EXT recovery for sd I did erase all partitions and now there is nothing on my NAND :crying::crying:
4. Now can i flash anything into the NAND space?? I dont know about the partition table of the previous rom or if even it had any!(In AROMA it shows NAND partition 299 mb and 297 mb free thats all i know!!)
5. I tried flashing tytung's 4.2.2 into NAND through 4EXT recovery for SD but i get bootloops!
6. In this scenario is there any rom that i can install on my NAND?ANYTHING!!??
Please guys! Help me with this!!:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
@srinivas2 as your usb is broken, how are you going to recharge the hd2's battery??
i assume you have a charger. moving on
you can download clk (or black clk as i prefer) and flash it via sd card method (rename the nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh). in black clk, you can change system partition size right from inside of it. link for download: http://www.mediafire.com/?nhyausx0p5whu#tzg7whl9wwaih
go to compiled test versions, and download one of the latest. preferably the one with Ex-TWRP. you unzip it, get nbh file, rename to LEOIMG.nbh (in capital letters, yes) aND PUT IT ON ROOT OF SD CARD (sd should be fat32 formatted and have a maximum size of 4gb)
clk thread for instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1114053
Caution: NEVER FLASH STOCK WINDOWS MOBILE rom with your usb port broken, as you'll be stuck on it forever(or until you fix usb port) since flashing stock wm rom overrides hspl
now you have black clk installed. inside of it go to settings (of, to go to black clk menu, hold back button just after you turn the hd2 on), resize partitions, system, choose your size and apply.
goto recovery.
in ex-twrp recovery, make an ext4 partition on your sd (most probably you already have one). after downloading rom you want and changing system size in clk to the one mentionned in rom thread, flash rom in ex-twrp.
Done

Thanks for the quick reply @gilbert32 :good:
I got the tracks for power redrawn for the USB port on the MB(Complex procedure but a guy did it for me here in Mumbai ). Now It takes a long time to charge, but roms with fast charge ability(Like tytung NexusHD 4.0.4) does the job best!
Well if i install clk, im gonna loose MAGLDR right?? Cuz i have no experience with clk whatsoever and i am used to MAGLDR. And i have read there have been problems with Native sd methods with clk, thats why i never dared to try it! And once to clk, there is no coming back to MAGLDR as it has no SD card method!
Anyhow currently with the Native sd method im running Nexus HD2 4.0.4! Still Having nothing on NAND is a problem right? Cuz i have weird problems with heating up! When HD2 heats up, it dosent boot from SD, i always have to boot NAND then switch back to SD roms!
And yes, im never gonna do the blunder of flashing the stock WM!

First of all for thanks smash the thank button like i said in my sig
now regarding installing clk (black clk as i said, with included ex-twrp cz the normal 1.5 clk has no rec afaik), you will loose magldr. right.
and for installing with nativesd, it's very simple (rom should support clk btw, and most do). just in settings in clk, choose add sboot partition. this partition (5mb only) you will use to boot nativesd rom.
after flashing whatever nativesd rom, in ex-twrp (after creating sboot partition) go to advanced, nativesd manager, kernel update. touch sboot in the bottom to make sure it's selected, then choose the rom's folder from nativeSD folder on sd. Very simple.
when you want to boot nativesd not nand, hold the back button to boot to clk and choose boot sboot only. Very simple after you try
regarding installing stock wm, in some cases you may have to. then you will only have nativesd or sd android.
but you can still try custom roms (the have no spl flashing)
hope to help you

Hi guys!
I took a HD2 by a friend that have installed Cyano on it, but sometimes it freeze and i have to remove the battery, so i tried some other ROMs installing CWM and flashing ROMs by the recovery.
Now I have these problems: a lot of times MAGLDR stucks after loading the ROM when says GO GO GO.
When the system could load it freeze after some using, sometimes after 5 min sometimes after 5 hrs.
The CWM I installed is 400MB, it's good for this ROM [Jan 10/01/2015][KK 4.4.4][ LiquidSmooth][Official] Kernel 3.0.101 [ION]? Or it could be this the problem?
I tried many times to start from the beginning of the porting process (HSPL, task29, MAGLDR, recovery, ROM), but nothing, it doesn't work..
Thank you for help!!

Hi, I've tried your suggestions and it worked for one day and a half, then it freeze again. And after, when i managed to turn the device on after a lot of time it's stucks on GO GO GO, it freeze again after android lockscreen or a bit after, once one time it worked but without sim. It could be the SIM the problem? It is a 4g sim, but i think not.
Thank's you a lot!
hmm well i don't think its a sim problem , why don't you try to install the rom in nativesd and see if it works that way , check the nativesd instructions for more info how to do it
good point about nativeSD, it would eliminate nand bad blocks from the equation.
beast33, try getting a dmesg;
when stuck on magldr gogogo, push the red reset button under battery cover (don't pull battery)
go to magdr 10 services > dmesg to sd
on your sdcard look for file dmesg.txt and post it here.
to see if you have bad blocks and where they are.

With nativeSD it's normal that the boot is longer than nand?
Now it seems working, it freeze only one time, but it stucks on GOGOGO more times than nand...
Attached there is the dmesg.txt file when the phone boot normally, I post the file also when it stucks on GOGOGO to see the difference.
Thank's a lot because this phone is very good even though is quite old and i love to use it like principal device!!
EDIT 04.02.15
Yesterday night i tried to stree a little the device and while installing WA it freeze and doesn't boot anymore, it always stucks on GOGOGO... I don't know what to do anymore, it's possibly that something inside is brocken?
Another little question: wich light and fast rom do you suggest for a every day use (possibly with italian language)?
END EDIT

It does not sound good for the phone, but let us see what the dmesg(s) tell us.:fingers-crossed:
Sorry I forgot to post it
This is when the phone boot normally, when it freeze and not boot i post the other one!
It's normal that now with NativeSD the phone seems a lot slower than nand? (SD class 10)

No worries.
That one didn't work. It sometimes happens, especially if there was a long delay between pressing the reset button and getting the dmesg. Good luck with getting another one.

well it depends on what rom your using and also sdcard class , for example a class 10 sdcard is way faster than a class 4 sdcard , also what do you mean by slow , UI lag ? if that it happens to me too and maybe (i don't really know) its cuz your acessing data on the sdcard in the same time

It is better, I can see it is -pixelfreak-'s compiled 3.0.101 kernel, so assume the rom is liquidsmooth KK, but the dmesg stops before the nand bad blocks are listed (if there are any). I can't see anything causing reboots, others may know better. Try again

Yes the rom is Liquidsmooth, do you suggest another lighter?
I can make dmseg also when the system boot normally? Or only when it stucks on GOGOGO?
Thank you for your patience!

a dmesg after normal boot should show your nand bad blocks, if any, so would be good.
a dmesg immediately after it gets stuck on gogogo might show why it gets stuck, so would be good too

A little question: to make the dmesg after normal boot i have to boot magldr, make dmseg and then boot nativesd, right?

Only difference is after a normal boot, you don't need to use the reset button, just switch off normally, then get your dmesg (dmesg to sd).
reset button gets you out of the hanging bit without removing battery, and thus the dmesg is still in memory when you use magldr to put it on the sdcard.
Not sure why you need to boot nativeSD after you put the dmesg onto sdcard, unless you are using usb to get the dmesg.txt onto pc and therefore onto xda, or are posting it using android via tapatalk. Note that unless you rename dmesg.txt, it will be overwritten the next time you put a dmesg to sd.
