Galaxy Note II firmware update brings split-screen - Galaxy Note II General

Multi-View enhances the multitasking capabilities of the Galaxy Note II, allowing you to run two apps on the screen simultaneously. Mind you, not all Android apps are supported, but unlike the Galaxy Note 10.1, where only Samsung apps could be brought up to the screen, Multi-Window supports Google apps as well (Gmail, YouTube, Chrome and Talk).
The update version is XXALIJ1 and comes with a new baseband, as well as an update to Google Chrome.
If you own a Samsung Galaxy Note II, you can check for the new firmware from About device -> Software update. While waiting to download, you can see Multi-Window in action on the official Samsung Galaxy Note II ad below (around the 2 minute mark).

Imagine all that on our 10.1's. I probably will upgrade to the note 2 as well, my upgrade is due this month after a long 24 months!
I plan on buying the note 2 day 1 but i would love this on note 10.1
I hope all the Note 2 features make it into the JB update. Multitasking with G-Apps is awesome

The Future Looks Bright for Adobe Flash Player Support and Galaxy Note 2

Whether you think Flash Player is necessary or not, it should be our option whether we want to install it or not. We are not pawns to be used to execute a corporate agenda at our inconvenience. If you want to actively take part in not installing Flash to support the adoption of HTML5 by looking at gray boxes for 2 years, it is up to you. If you are at the other camp however, Adobe Flash Player runs amazing and efficient on the Galaxy Note 2. And it looks like it will continue to be supported (unofficially) through the life of the the device.
Adobe and Samsung made an official statement: "Upgrade from Android 4.0 ICS to 4.1 JB will keep their Flash player intact and working." for Galaxy SII and SIII owners. Because the Samsung Galaxy Note II has a near identical processor to the international Galaxy S3, the Exynos 4412 (although the Note 2 variant is faster, cooler, and consumes less battery due to the 32nm process and higher clock speed), whenever the Galaxy S3 player gets a Flash Player update, that update will always be just as compatible on the Galaxy Note 2. Unless Adobe goes through the unusual step of explicitly blocking out the Galaxy Note 2's model numbers or the Note 2's Exynos 4412-variant cpu model number in the Flash Player code, it will always keep working.
The best thing is the apk installer can be downloaded from Adobe directly. No need to bother potentially cracked versions in someone's dropbox folder or shady download link. (Please see link below.) No rooting required. It works on all browsers except Chrome.
The Galaxy Note II is future-proof when it comes to Adobe Flash Player support, although it is not officially supported. It will be helped by the fact all Galaxy Note II's have the exact same processor, unlike some Galaxy S3's and S2 variants that have alternate Qualcomm Snapdragon processors which may have issues with Flash Player incompatibility down the line. Prepare to enjoy Flash player for the life of the device!

Mods, any chance we can get this stickied? I think knowing that the device will very likely have Flash player working for the life of the device will be important when making a decision to buy the Galaxy Note 2. It was for me.

Unfortunately couple of my favorite Browsers already dropped Adobe Flash Add-On support (Opera Mobile & Dolphine Browser),hope after this declaration they will bring it back.
+1
Dolphin imo is by far the best browser for android and I've been using it a while now but since they have removed flash support I've been forced to try alternatives and so far I've not found any I like.
Stock browser is ok but doesn't seem to work well with Swype (no auto spacing)
C'mon dolphin, realise your mistake and embrace flash like you once did

As long as they keep resurrecting this zombie, its just going to delay the widespread adoption of html5, and delay it from being the defacto standard.

The last version of Dolphin to support Flash is 8.5.1
So download and install that version and do not update it.
It will work flowless.
:good:
11.2

[Q] Note size of new Snote app

Hi,
I have the KK Testrom installed on my Note 10.1 (N8000) together with the new S Note app.
The good thing is that I am now fully compatible with my Note 3 (S notes).
Only thing is that the notesize is so much smaller compared to the older S Note app. The notesize of the new Snote app are compared to the screensize of the tablet. The older S Note app had a more A4 notesize (at least twice as big as the newer app).
Is there a way to enlarge these notesize?
Sorry, I misplaced this question, because it should be on the Galaxy Note 10.1 forum. MOD please delete this topic.

Game launcher official available...more coming?

Today s6 and note 5 get the game launcher available on galaxy store you have to download game launcher and then you will download game tools within game launcher
Will we expect more features coming to s6 like always on display and new grace ux with Android N update?
We have to wait for the answer of the question

Don't get your hopes up about Always on display feature, S6 will never ever get it officially.
But with the Grace UX, there's a great chance that it will come to S6 and S6 Edge before the Android N's official release.
Also, Samsung's S Health app has just recently been updated with new look, as Albe95 says it's "Note 7 Grace UX S Health" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68122799&postcount=1673) so as you can see, this is just only the beginning and we can be sure that the New Grace UI will be on S6 and S6 Edge before you know it.
Cheers!!
Yeah grace ui probably but no always on for sure...

Always on display is a gimmick and battery drainer! I never turned it on again after 1 month use in Nokia Belle (which was better than the Android's counterpart) and still not impressed by it. My phone's battery life will never be enough
What if i dont have the galaxy app store?

Samsung recently pushed out an update to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge that brought along Samsung Cloud, a new feature that the company debuted with the Galaxy Note 7.
The updated Gallery app has Samsung’s new Grace UX interface, but more notable is its inclusion of face and object recognition.
The improved Gallery should be making its way to other flagships in the near future, and so should the entire Grace UX. The latter will probably arrive with the Android 7.0 update, although we’re hoping Samsung will port specific Note 7 features through minor updates following up to the release of Nougat.

What do game launcher?
Samsung recently brought two new features from the Galaxy Note 7 to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge through an update in Italy, and the company is now pushing out the same update to consumers in India. Both devices are getting an over-the-air update sized at around 150 MB; the update brings the Samsung Cloud service and also the new gallery that features face and object recognition.
The update also improves performance in games that utilize the Vulkan API and the response of the touch screen. Power consumption improvements are also on-board thanks to optimization to Smart Manager. A couple of bug fixes are included as well, with a fix for the flashlight/torch not working properly and for problematic cover recognition.

It seems Samsung is slowly releasing the updates. We might just get these updates for S6 and S6 Edge before 2017 comes.

Samsung galaxy tab s3 note app

Is it possible to have the galaxy s3 tab note app to take note with the galaxy tab a 10.1 2016 sm-t580? I know that the note app on the s3 tab starts when you take the s pen and bring it to the screen, but an apk version of this app that I can open like a normal apps would be great
