After 1 month of waiting got the phone from warranty 2 weeks ago, due to reception problems.
Seems they replaced the motherboard. everything was working . hooray !!! - till yesterday...
After I installed a camera app [ don't remember the app name ] from play store the phone starting acting very slow, (LAGGING),
Nothing to worry, I just pressed restart via phone menu.
Then the weirdness started.
- It kept rebooting for 5-7 times till it booted.
- Camera recording stopped working (says Recording failed) (Altrough taking pictures still worked)
At this point I did factory reset
Even more problems appeared
- No sound on device, on both speakers.
- Calling works, but no sound and no microphone
- Playing videos not work, youtube, gallery etc... (says Playing video failed)
- Keeps rebooting every 10 minutes
Hard reset, samsung update.. nothing helped.
The phone is not rooted
Of-course I am taking this crap phone to warranty and waiting 1 month again....
Try to wipe all, wipe your sdcard too and flash a "proper" firmware with Odin.
sounds like you just got a lemon of a device and probably should request a whole new phone.

SD card removed, everything wiped and reset via settings and HOME+POWER+VOLUP too..
Not risking the warranty with ODIN tho...

Also probably worth mentioning, my /sdcard/ ( phone memory in SGS case ) has changed to /sdcard0/ after hard reset
Just for curiosity... what these errors tends to be related to ? I guess hardware. right?
First step is always to rule out firmware .
Therefore a factory reset .
But if the factory image is corrupt then a flash of the original rom or current stock rom enables user to test .
That would be even more so in your case as phone failed after an install .
But further confused by a warranty replaced motherboard that itself could be at fault .
However as this post is not asking for help but just telling is your sad tale its pointless .
jje
Wipe data factory reset (stock recovery, back up your internal mem=sdcard and take out your external sdcard)
Wipe cache
Reboot
Then if it stll acts up demand a new device.
Doesn't matter what make of phone it is. Someone will always get a dud phone. Even Samsung. Going from gs3 to HTC sounds like a bad idea to us s3 lovers but it's all on the user.
Request new device, if you still have problems go for another phone definitely. Also make a complaint to Samsung about it so they don't release any more dud phones.

After months of trouble free use my camera dies today. When I try to launch the camera I get the following message "Unable to start Camera" "Unable to initialize camera". I saw an earlier post where the fix was to power down and remove the battery for a few minutes. Unfortunately this did not work for me. I waited approximately 15 minutes before installing the battery and powering up again.
Has anyone elese seen this problem before? And where removing the battery has not helped. I have not tried a Hard Reset. I had a similar problem with my Hermes/838 Pro that was fixed with a hard reset. As you can tell I am trying to avoid the hard reset... I am traveling and do not want to take the time to cutomize my phone, at least not yet.
I am running the original shipped ROM 1.23.707.6
Meanining I have not flashed any ROMs to this phone. It is as shipped from Dopod.
hi i have the same problem since months ... something you have explored? do u have some informations to fix this problem?
Extract this package, and copy all files to the windows directory via Resco Explorer(alle files(.DLL) muts be visible, look at the options of this app) and overwrite the existing files, then softreset, Im not sure if this will work for you, so be sure and make a backup first!
http://www.poigps.com/users/emme/CameraGPS.rar
It really seems a software problem, probably some rom files or registries got corrupted. A reinstall may help, if not, you may still need the ultimate hard reset
I wound uptaking my 810 back to the Dopod service center. The guy said they had to replace my camera. What that means and if that can actually be done I am not sure. I would guess they replaced an entire board. They did re-flash the ROM on my phone as well. Prioir to taking the phone in for service I had not tried to re-flash the rom. I had only done a hard reset with no success.
One side light of my camera going down is... They put the same ROM back on my phone that was previously installed. After the service I have noticed that my GPS gets a "cold" fix much faster than before (twice as fast +/-)
Interesting, I had this exact same error, but on my previous phone, a Samsung D900.
They tried everything, including completely wiping the phone, but nothing helped so in the end they replaced the camera in the phone.
i had this on a tornado

...turned out to be hardware, too.
mainboard error on mine
htc service replaced the camera module twice before they replaced mainboard and cured my phone. I had this problem the first 6 months with my p3600.
Try taking a softreset with the camera on. this worked for me a couple of times

Dispite my clear letter that described the problem that has plagued the phone for months and recently got so bad its almost un-usable other than texting they returned with FW update! I pointed them to their thread on SE support problems with all the x10s with overheating/reboot issue and explained the problem started during 1.6 through over 4 FW updates and I had already returned the phone to factory before sending it! even left it to play the setup menu when they turned it on! so 2 weeks wait for nothing. Anyone know any way to get though to them to either replace the handset or the board? Im not sending it back again for the same. If I had a laptop with faulty hardware they wouldnt return it with a re installed OS! Very annoying they clearly didnt follow what I wrote on replicating the issue, easiest way is try use any type of GPS nav the phone cuts out within 1min and wont boot back up for 5min unless the batterys been taken out!
They also flashed back to Orange FW when I had global generic on the handset lol
Hello dear droid pro users, i bought a droid pro from ebay and just received it yesturday (Live in Kazakhstan, central asia). The phone i received reboots every 5-15 minutes with no particular reason. Here's what i tried to do, non of it helped:
1) Factory reset the phone from the phone settings - did not help
2) Hard reset by holding R and M button and swithching the phone on, then going to a reset and erase cache procedure - did not help
3) Updated the software through internet connecting the phone - did not help
3) Swithing between global mode/GSM/CDMA modes - did not help
4) Unmountind SD card and working without SD (maybe SD card was bricked) - did not help
5) Unmounted SIM card and used without network (thought it was conection issue) - did not help
6) Tacked off the battery for 1 hour - did not help
7) Did all procedures step by step done in followind post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=923552 - did not help
Does anyone know how to solve this problem, or i just thow the phone away Thanks in advance
Try to flash the original firmware using RSD Lite
original firmware megaupload.com/?d=H6ZYY4QE

I think the initial run of phones was so-so quality wise. I have a reboot problem as well that seems to be linked to either the GPS subsystem and/or the charging subsystem.
Probably call Verizon at some point and ask for a warranty exchange.
One interesting point is that it does not rebbot when it's charging. Could a battery replacement solve this problem? Or it's the phone's power management problem?
I doubt that in this problem to blame the battery. In any case, flashing the device does not hurt. If firmware does not help then the problem is really in the gland.
I blamed the battery too, and found this kind of rare battery from someone else and tasted it... did not help. After several fission ROM'ing and flashing with no results, it's 98% problem of the phone hardware.
i had the same problem with my motorola droid pro verizon ,what i did was i went to verizon and told them about situation they send me another device also pre owned (phone is on warranty) and replaced phone has na issues everything works just fine . no reboots , no power off, no hangs .i tried everything like mentioned i 1st post did not help. i think is a hardware difectived or phone has a virus on it ...
Well you're lucky, I don't have Verizon (Vodafone) in my country
Hello Joeystarr,
did you ever find a solution? I have the same issue here... bought on ebay. Probably some sellers thing ebay is where to sell crap. Very bad.
Is it worth spending time digging and flashing or whatever?
edit: I solved using updated rom. Now locked once a day and that's it...
Thanks!
Hello fellow XDA-forum members.
To start with , I've bought an LG E900 from Germany via Ebay about a week ago.
It is brand new (Updated to the latest available update on Zune) , even some stickers are still on it. The First four days of usage were normal ( all things worked as they should ). Then suddenly , two days ago I've experienced some issues while browsing the web. I've got several restarts and "no sound" issues.
After that ,I started googling and found that a lot of people have problems with LG optimus 7. I found that a lot of people have the same problem when they play games , well i still haven't occured any problems while gaming, only when browsing web. I did send a letter to LG to get more information about this issue(specificly).
My question is , whether this problem is related to hardware or software? If it's a hardware problem , then which chip is affected. I am willing to repair it on my own, if a chip is badly soldered (I do have some experience).

Hello dear members , today I tried to reflow my phone's motherboard components. I reflowed an Audio IC chip first , still same , restarted and loss of sound. Then I reflowed the RF Chips , still same. Furthermore I tried to reflow the Snapdragon CPU , but LG DECIDED to put SOO Much epoxy under it , that the chip couldn't get enough air during the reflow process. The result was obviously bad , some of the solder balls exploded under the chip and short-circuited it(at that moment , I realized that my phone is dead). Only reball + new CPU chip would fix my phone (or a new mobo ofc).
Best regards , Kiura.
Ok , today I got an answer from LG Electronics. They claim that It's not a hardware problem, this problem is related to software. They gave me instructions to factory reset my phone, which I've obviusly done before. They gave me 2. options :
1) Resetting the phone under phone settings - about (Which I've tried before without any successful results)
2) Dialing ##634# with password ********* - then a menu pop's up where you can test phone components and do other stuff , like resetting factory settings etc.
Today morning , I tried the second option. I'm gonna test the phone for the whole day surfing web and playing games , then I'll let you guys know about the results.
2) Dialing ##634# with password ********* This will install MFG application- see here for more http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841892 or make a search for mfg app
Bah , after i plugged my charger in ,the phone lost it's sound again. Had one restart too. I think Factory Reset would not help , because it won't downgrade your OS.
LG insisted that the problem is in software.
Is there any possibility to downgrade the software on the phone or flash it ?
You may use zone to roll back your phone
(zone backup the phone before update )
I flashed my phone today , by installing EU OPEN rom on my Phone. Eventually without a success. Phone still has sound issues...
I think the problem is in Hardware.
If anyone may know something more specific about this problem , please let me know. I can't just dump the phone... Maybe a cpu or some chip is badly soldered on the mainboard(well that doesn't make sense , because games run just fine)? I just need specific information about this issue.

Best regards,Kiura.
Hello everyone,
I've been experience a very ugly issue with my S7 Edge.
SCENARIO 1: When the sensor works (meaning when I can see in the screen what the camera "sees") and I try to take a picture, the camera throws an error message saying "Unknown error occurred", and then the phone reboots:
SCENARIO 2: In other occasions, the camera starts with a complete black screen and immediately throws this error:
One of the two scenarios above always happen, which basically means I'm never able to take a picture.
What I've tried so far:
1) Upgrade from Marshmallow to Nougat.
2) Reset settings.
3) Full phone reset (cache + data).
4) Phone reset from recovery mode (cache + data).
5) The issue are present in safe mode as well.
6) I tried downloading other camera apps. Errors again.
7) Tried changing the storage location from SD to Device. Didn't work.
8) Video recording works!!!!!
Is it a hardware problem in your opinion? How can a software issue still stay after a hard reset? I'm not sure because in SCENARIO 1 I can see that the sensor works, plus video recording works!
Any help is greatly appreciated!
FIXED by using ODIN and flashing Nougat with the CSC file
Maybe try flashing full stock rom through odin or smart switch since there might be a problem to the system files itself.
In my opinion though, this seem like a hardware problem.

I also think it's a hardware problem. I'm just gonna send it back to Samsung.

I've been having the exact same issue for months now. On 6.0, 6.0.1 and 7.0 as well.
Please let me know what Samsung tells you. The problem for me is that I bought the phone from amazon (8 months ago) and live in Argentina.
One thing I can't understand is that camera worked fine for the first couple of months. Also find really strange the fact that I'm able to take pictures with flash ON. Have you tried it?

I tried some days ago with the flash ON, and it didn't work (if I remember correctly). I didn't waste too much time, and as soon as I found out about the issue I sent it to Samsung for repair.
I have it back since today afternoon, and what I read from the attached papers is that there was a malfunctioning piece which they replaced. The list of operations Samsung did is:
- Boardswaping
- Software update (I doubt about this one as my phone was already updated)
I really think you should contact Samsung directly, and not Amazon. Here in Europe they have a good repair program: after max. 3 business days you get your phone back (and they will do the pick-up, and delivery). Maybe it's the same in Argentina.
Good luck!

Thanks for the info!
Do you know which board did they swap? The main board? :S
Argentina doens't handle international devices. I'd have to take the phone to de US .
I'll try to get it repaired here anyways.
Thanks again por the info.
