Is it just me or is the management of multiple calls atrocious? How can I split calls when I have a conference call I've merged? How can I end one call but not another? None of this makes sense. Anyone else?
Not that it helps you but I have the same problem. I think this is a Verizon issue more than a phone issue.

It is indeed a Verizon issue of how the network handles calls. The Atrix HD (and every other phone not on Verizon) do not have this issue.

Yes, I do have this rather strange issue.
It happens rather often that when someone calls me, I can hear the speak or their background sound prior to answering their call...
Indeed, one might think that this is a great bug, that could be turned into a feature, but it's rather awful thinking that one might hear me speak, before he answers my call...
Does anyone have any suggestions for this?

EURM..... just don't speak when you're waiting for the other party to pick up the phone?

If you can hear what's going on at the other end of the line before you answer your call then you need to send your phone back to your manufacturer immediately.

could you please detail?
how would that help, since Vodafone will most likely exchange my phone to another HD2 which will probably have the same issue?
Moreover, in order to exchange, I'll need to demonstrate them this issue. And since it's not a regular-occuring issue (sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't), it will be hard to prove anything...

If you can hear what is going on at the other end of the line before you answer the phone (I assume you still have the ringtone at this point?) then that is a hardware failure and the phone needs to be replaced.
you could be paying for that time and as no-one else has the problem then your unlikley to get it as a recurrent fault on the next handset.

Got the same 'problem' I don't see it as a real problem though. You usually don't pay when you're the one getting called.

Agreed- if you can hear the other party before you 'answer' then it suggests the device is auto-answering. Once you can hear the other side, the line has connected regardless of whether you still hear the ringtone.
All WinMo devices have an 'auto answer' facility but it should only kick in when connected to a car kit, and even thgen only when specifically selected in Options.
This is not a common fault- indeed I've never heard of it before in any of my 8 years of supporting WM devices, so report it to Vodafone; at least it will then be on record that you have reported it.
Has anyone had issues with running Ok Google from all screens? I am not sure if it is a network issue or a Ok Google issue but about 6 times I have had problems with incoming and outgoing calls. When I answer or dial out you can not hear on my end and the person calling/being called can not hear either. It is like the microphone and the speaker are both muted. It may be a coincidence but since I turned off Ok Google from all screens it has not occurred again. ATT said they thought it may have been a network problem.

My phone calls have been fine, but it lead to people being unable to hear me over Hangouts and Skype.

I am hoping it was a network issue, I think that may be what it is.

I've been having this issue. When I enable OK Google from all screens, I could get one call through with no issues. Subsequent calls connected (I could see on the phone that it dialed, rang on the other end, and was answered), but I heard no ringing or voice. The caller on the other end could not hear me either. Disable OK Google Everywhere fixed the issue. It's been reported on Android Central as well.

I know this is an old thread, but I have been having the same problem on my phone. Has anyone found a solution for this?
So I've had this issue with several calls. One going to t-mobile, another to Verizon and another to a land line. All three said that I have constant call loss. All they hear is static, and my voice goes in and out. I was in my truck for two of the calls and in a home Depot for another. I can hear the caller on the other end, but they can't hear me. Anyone else have this issue and maybe a fix? Thanks.
Turn off VoLTE and see if it persists
Go to your phone - 3 dot menu top right corner - Call settings - VoLTE slider to off
We're you moving? Maybe slow transfer of towers. And also what other poster said.
Ya I went in and disabled volte, so far it has helped. I'll do some more calls and see if it's a good fix. Thanks.
Update, I turned off volte and I still have the same issue where they can't hear me on the other end.
Bad antennas and or mic. Try sim in another phone before exchange.

This, you may have a bad unit. I know mine did that issue a couple of times but I was in a bad LTE area and had VoLTE on.
So I found out why my phone calls kept getting really muffled. Apparently the way I hold my phone my pinky would cover the mic... So now I feel dumb, but I didn't think that the mic would get muffled this easily. So if anyone has the same problem watch your finger placed.
I have had the phone since Monday and have had choppy call quality when receiving and making calls. The person on the other hears me fine, but they sound like they are speaking into a slow fan while on a helicopter with the windows open. I hear just one half of each word. It has happened on more than 50% of calls I make and receive.
I also can't get visual voicemail to work, but that's a separate issue that I will deal with later. I need to get the call quality fixed. Could it be my APN settings are incorrect for either issue?

Have a look at this thread on Lenovo's forum. It explains everything. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-G...izon-very-poor-call-quality/m-p/3669444#M3433.

Hi guys I'm on Jan update , and the only problem that I have is some times when I call people or someone calls me , the other side can't hear my voice , I wanna know that it's a known bug or it's something wrong with my phone ?! It's so annoying
That sounds like a problem with the phone. We have two A1s and call volume and sound quality are very good. I have not seen many reports of intermittent voice, so would think it may be local to your phone. I may be wrong, and if so, I am sure someone else will correct me.

Nothing is wrong with my phones hardware because I can talk with it but sometimes it's not working , I think it happens when I connect it to my gear s3 smart watch! And my phone is always connected to my watch , it has to be a bug nothing is wrong with my phone , hopefully ?
Ah, you did not say anything about the watch in the original post. I don't use smart watches, so cannot offer anything further except to disconnect the watch and see if the problem disappears. If it does, then you will know it is not the phone, but a problem between the phone and watch.
Good luck.

Even I'm facing the same issue and even i have a gear S3. This makes me wonder if the problem is to do with my phone's update or the watch's update??

It's not a problem with watch I think it's a problem with phone app, when the watch is connected it goes to Bluetooth and then goes back to phone's speaker quickly and there is no voice ! Incoming or outgoing!
Same issue here, often when i make a call the phone seems not Connect and i have to retray the call one o two times to be connected and can talk.
I have the phone connected with Huawei watch 2.
When i receive a call no issue, the bug only in outgoing calls

Absolutely ! And it confirms that the problem is not with gear s3! It's a big bug for this phone with Google's support! Hopefully they know about it and fix it in the next update
Are you sure it's a phone issue and not network related? Have you tried replicating the issue by inserting your SIM in a different device?
Some issue with 2 different operator sim on A1, the same Sim on other device have not this issue
