What ROM you running?? - Transformer TF300T General

Though I would create a thread to see which of the many great JB ROMS people are running and maybe we can crown a champion??
I'm using CleanROM and could not be happier.

Im running "BrickedMy****2.0" its the smoothest out and the battery life is just awesome.

What does it mean?
Could you explain the difference/meaning of each, please?

He means his Pad is in heaven or hell Just bricked.
I am running JB OC edition with last Untermensch Kernel.

I am on stock , but looking to for a rom , but none has me intrested at the moment.
I am not looking for new features on roms , i just want a smooth and stable rom , and everything else to be stock.
A bit like android revolution HD for Galaxy nexus.
Anyone know anything similar? Because on stock , launcher usually really slow , and performance wise for quad core it's just not there.

I'm running CM 10 M2.It runs smooth ‚but the camera records15fps videos.I hope they will fix it.CM did good job with this JB Rom

CleanRom
I've upgraded from stock JB to CleanRom 2.5. its night and day

I'm on CleanRom 2.5 also. Haven't tried much else though. I tried OC for a day, but wasn't able to get overclocked so I reverted back to CleanRom after a few failed attempts. I'm hoping we'll have an updated version of CleanRom soon (version 2.3 from the 700t forums)

Clean rom 2.5 its my first rom ever! on a android device (tf300 is my first android device) + untermensch kernel combined with and when i installed the clean rom i always can oc so u guys do something wrong. And i run the v6 script.

I am on CleanROM too, tried a few others but there were a few things I didn't like or had problems with.
Got no problem and can OC with CleanROM

can anyone point out how is the perfomance on clean rom? does it still have random lags between switching screens? I don't want to switch rom unless i know performance has been increased.

hehe just came to the thread, nice timing.
No lag what so ever anywhere on this tablet now. I have made it lag by copying a movie, playing music and trying to browse the web. Pages lag a little bit but once they load its smooth and we all know that its the cheap internal card. I think its well worth it, i was using my brother TF300 that is stock and could not handle how slow it was.

Many thanks !
looks like i will be wiping my tablet and flashing it after all!

just remember to flash Unt kernel, latest is NOT in OP but one of the last pages.

I just installed JB overlock edition and it got better scores than CleanRom with unt's kernel :S for me.
Quadrant scores:
JB oc edition V2 (overclocked to 1.66ghz): total:6087 CPU: 15120 Mem: 3188 I/O: 9233 2D: 273 3D: 2622
CleanRom with unt's kernel (overclocked to 1.6 ghz): total:5735 CPU: 14144 Mem: 3890 I/O: 7592 2D: 309 3D: 2739
Hope I helped someone that can't decide what Rom he want's to install.

Why are there so many votes for the stock ROM? Is it that good? Seems like it's pretty easy to unlock the tablet and then load a custom ROM on. Any input would be appreciated.

boggles the mind don't it? I guess people are happy with Stock until they can use CM/AOKP

Very strange. Just loaded CleanROM. It's always tough to say what ROM to go with. CleanROM is nice, but I have to install the others to compare, I suppose. I wish there was a good pro/cons list of each ROM.

What is the fastest least buggy rom with best battery life and OCing

So many to choose from and i don't have any experience other then Virtuous Picasso 1.1.0. that is the only one i've flashed. Does it hurt your tabby installing new roms constantly over and over again. Just seems like something at some point would get corrupted or something. I don't know.....lol This is very new to me.
What rom is everyone using.
I was wondering the excact same thing, maybe everyone's waiting for an acer 3.2 update.I'm on virtuous picasso 1.1 also,I was hoping for a vp update as that rom seems pretty good so far.Anyone know when we'll see anything as good or are there better that you guys use like taboonay, etc? Thanks.
you will ALWAYS get different answers to this question. It all depends on how you use your tablet. Your best option is try them out and see for yourself. Load the ROM use it for a day try a kernel see what fits your needs, don't rely on other peoples answers.

Hey question for you since your using the same rom. Does your Tablet turn off at night by itself. I used my tablet all day and at night I charge it while i sleep. When i wake up in the middle of the night i unplug the tabby if the power button is white meaning peak charge and then go back to sleep. when i get up in the morning the tablet is turned completely off and the battery is around 90%.........i don't get it. does yours do this?
I'm on Taboonay and loving it...
Currently using Taboonay 3 and richardtrip's 3.3 kernel.
Loving the speed and stability. Good power usage despite being OC'd to 1.5ghz. Had to apply patches to get Netflix going and still having ALL cameras intact.
Needed alt wpa supplicant file to enable adhoc networking...
... But yeah. Good ROM. I'd highly recommend it.
Some people were having issurs with the install, but I followed the instructions CAREFULLY and had zero issues...
Good luck!

so how do you install a kernel? Do i go through the same process wipe all, flash taboonay 2.0 rom reboot into recovery and then just flash the new kernel the sameway i flashed the rom without the wipe and stuff?
I'm running Taboonay and richardtrips kernel but I found that when I intstalled the latest version youtube wouldn't work. So i reinsatlled the earlier version of the kernel and now youtube works fine. Bit starnge but a few others had the same problem. I'm also haveing problems with the keyboatrd on the site here. No matter which keyboa$d i use the back/delete button doesn't work hence all the typos here
Not sureif this is a kernel/rom/site issue?
Taboonay 2.0 using richardtrips 3.4 kernel (3.4 addressed h.264 playback and overclocking stability)
stock 3.1
Rooted via IconiaRoot - Richardtrip's kernel installed - max cpu set to 1504, min 256 - switch my Setcpu app between "ondemand" (when i have plenty of battery) and "conservative" (when my battery is low).
is taboonay built on original iconia stock or some other rom? or total original honeycomb (if there's a such a thing)

I would check the taboonay thread but afaik the a501 is the only one we have a 3.2 rom to work from. So if i remember correctly it is based off of a a501
I am running HV 1.1 with HV 3.4 kernel, OC'd to 1.4Ghz. I find this combo stable and fast. My quadrant score is 4124 and I have no WiFi or YouTube issues. YouTube would not work when I was running the HV 3.3 kernel with the HV 1.1. I wonder what quadrant scores other people are getting with their ROM/kernel combos?
I re-flashed with Taboonay v.2.0/Richardtrips v.3.3 Kernel and it fixed every problem i was having. Best ROM/kernel combo ever! Super smooth, zero lag and amazing battery life!. Overclocked to 1.4ghz and getting better gaming performance then i was before as well! Awesome!

Youtube hd was choppy before, and if you did a lot of benchmarking it would throttle back the cpu. Both addressed in 3.4

Stock 4.0.3 scored 900 only

I tried a full benchmarking usijg quadrant app. And it only scores 899. No kernel just a 4.0.3 stock rom. Oh God. I dont want this. 5k will be good. LOL

And still it is 10 times smoother than the AOSP roms that scored 2400. Time to forget Quadrant guys.
Quadrant scores don't matter one last bit. It's the UX you get while using the phone that matters, and as ICS is at least as smooth as GB there should be no need to complain about some test scores.
and another thing is that Quadrant is still isn't optimized for ICS I remember when GB was released it wasn't optimized for GB also ... =] havn't u seen how low scores Galaxy nexus got on quadrant? it's simply because it isn't properly supported nothing else =] and yea scores don't even matter ICS running smooth as silk =]
It is smooth as hell except when you open the center which has the applications and widgets, kinda laggy

Gaming rom

What is the best rom/firmware for gaming ?
In the ICS roms its reboot a loot.
Sent from my R800i
Stock gingerbread with DooMKerneL. Remove bloatware apps and stop excess services. Can't get a better gaming experience than that (though some say V6 supercharger helps)
Can someone give me the links ?
What gingerbread ?
Sent from my R800i
Stock is defintely what you want for gaming alright. I'd go with a stock based ROM so that most of the bloat is removed for you and not weighing down your device.
Something like JokaWild.
EDIT: by the sounds of it, you are going to have to do some research. Start by looking into flashtool.
Just noticed my above comment may have sounded condescending. It wasn't meant to be. Since you have flashed ICS successfully, I imagine you know how to flash a stock ROM.
From my experience Jokawild was the best gingerbread rom for gaming

What about for a R800x?
I have tried several different ROMS and not that these other ROMs are not awesome in their own right. But I always come back to my nandroid of stock Android 2.3.3
I rooted, then deleted all bloat in the system folder, and all the other apps that can be reinstalled to SDcard, map, talk, gmail, etc. I have around 180mb of free space according to my system/apps folder. I then used V6 Supercharger and set everything to aggressive with Nitro Lag. Now my phone is super speedy. I have no lag anywhere, all games play buttery smooth including GL games. I also am using DoomKernel by DoomLord and No Frills set to Performance, CFQ at 1.2ghz (dont like to OC too much just a tiny little bump)
And I also have a Sandisk Mobile Ultra 32GB HC-I MicroSD card. Was using a class 4 sandisk proir an this card was on sale on a camera site for $30, figured why not and got it, saw a difference with GL games as well, before they were smooth with an occasional slight stutter but now its all good.
Just found it, its $3 more then what I paid but still a great price and this card is awesome.

^This.
So, I'm using an ICS rom with the new Adreno drivers, and I get better performance on Fifa 12 then I got with Gingerbread. Is there a way to install the new Adreno drivers on Gingerbread?
I have tried most to all the roms as well and I will say I got the best gaming performance with the stock 2.3.3 rom (bloatware free) with doom's kernel. This had not only the best performance but also worked with most to all games.
I would of put 2.3.4 but gmail and google voice still wont auto sync. Once verizon decides to wake up then jump to 2.3.4. Hope this helps.
You will need to use flash tool (thread) to do all your kernel and FTF flashing.
Flash this: 2.3.3 FTF
Flash this: DoomKernel + Wifi modules (thread)
Boot up like normal and go through the setup. After that install titanium backup and start ripping out all that Verizon junk.
Install SetCPU and find your overclock sweet spot. Dont forget to set a profile to underclock you phone for when your batteries low. (I found that smartassV2 scaling gave me the best performance/battery life with a 1.6 Ghz overclock.)
This is for a r800x (Verizon)
That's pretty much what I did. I have the stock overclocked kernel, which isn't overclocked, but SetCPU is set to overclock to 1.6Ghz when any of my games are running.
Thread Closed, Thank You.

tablet running slow. best rom for speed?

Hey hackers,
I need to pick a rom for my TF101. My tablet has been running a little slow and a little choppy, so I'm thinking it's the rom. I'm currently running cm10. I'm thinking Revolver or Revolution would be the best for performance and speed - would one of these be a good choice?

Well ive flashed them all lol and CM10 is by a long way the fastest (equal with JB AOSP but more stable) both Revolver and Revolution are about the same as far performance goes, I prefer Revolver for ICS roms but is still much less performance the cm10. Ive found CM10 to be a little choppy with the stock launcher, Apex is much better might be worth trying that before flashing another rom.
Thanks for the tip about the launcher and other roms. Tried apex - it was awful, actually I'll let you know what happens with some other roms.
Revolver ICS runs great but CM10 is improving everyday.

Which CM10 rom are you running? There's a few out now and not all run the same. If it's the RaymanFX CM10 then I'd be suprised you're having performance issues.
Speaking of which, did you overclock at all? A little boost to the CPU speed can make a world of difference. Depending on your tablet, however, you may experience some crashing if you push it too hard. 1.2 to 1.4 GHz seems to be the sweet spot for most people.
AnTuTu CPU Master (Free) is what I use. I've set it to 1600Mhz with smartassV2 scaling and the sio I/O scheduler. My tablet reacts to overclocking very well though so your mileage may vary.

ROM is independent from your overclocking capabilities. It is the kernel that allows you to overclock.
Change the kernel into another one.

Have you tried RaymanFX's CM10, he's calling it stable(ish) and I think it supports overclocking out-the-box. I found EOS 3 nightly (build 81) the best for me, as it was the only JB ROM that gTalk worked in. However I just found any JB ROM not stable / responsive enough. Browser crashes now and again, Firefox was stable though LOL.
I went back to ICS and still can't decide on EOS 2 or Megatron 1.1.6. They both are ultra stable but have annoying artifacts when widgets are in use. Apparently stock is still got some issues for some, so it seems HoneyComb is the only 100% solution
Has anybody got a good stable ROM without artifacts? Stock has no artifacts but I want a low bloat MOD, preferably AOSP based.
Elite or K.A.T.
Elite is working very well for me.
You can also try K.A.T. kernel
Both will give you full satisfaction for sure :highfive:
EOS nightly (build 81) suits for me. Put cpu speed on a save 1200 mhz with AnTuTu CPU master. Stable, fast, smooth. No isues so far.
