this is the reason why i bought international Note2 !
tired of waiting!
This would SUCK. I got into a fight with Sprint today, and told them I will be leaving SOON. This is killing me.
I figured by the middle of November but was REALLY hoping it would be sooner.

But the international version doesn't have LTE, correct? Which means it's definitely worth waiting an extra few weeks, at least for me. AT&T LTE speeds around here are blazing fast, between 30 and 50 Mbps down and a little less for upload.

Not everyone feels this way. LTE is not available where I live or work, so that's not important to me. I would much rather have the N7100 dev support and quicker updates than LTE. HSPA+ is plenty fast enough for my needs.
I disagree, There is not that much advantage to having LTE especially if your data speed needs are minimal. Additionally, the best developers are usually on the international version and it is usually best to avoid all the ATT "enhancements." I opted for the international version as well.
Might just be true...
I was in an AT&T store yesterday adding a line and the Manager said he expects it to launch mid November :crying:

I hate to give away ideas...but you know list our t989s on craigslist unlocked and rooted for $400...its like an almost equal trade-in.
One of the main deal makers for this, is for those on contract who can get more money by terminating their contract for a cheaper plan and newer phone...
What's the catch why so cheap??

You'd still get "4G" (since T-Mo classifies anything at 14mbps+ 4G) at 21mbps, half of what you can get from the t989 if it really matters that much.

I was thinking about switching to Verizon, but the results you gave are for one city, in one corner of the country, I need more proof! And truthfully they need to test again when tmobiles LTE network goes active. I also thought it odd for the other 3 carriers they used HTC phones, and for TMobile they used the galaxy S. Why not use the sensation to make is fair, or use galaxy S II for all 4 carriers? My guess.....someone knows TMobile is faster and wanted to put them in a crutch...just sayin lol. I'm currently doing a comparison of the big 4 in grand rapids cause I seem to never get 4G and it's making me mad!

While the ping times leave a little to be desired where I'm at (Florida) the download speeds are awesome in my area, but the speeds are just a perk, heh. I remember why I picked them every time I look at my bill. At $60 a month (w/taxes and fees) for my unlimited data*, texts, and minutes I'm doing ok compared to some of my friend's $100+ AT&T bills.

Besides the lack of iPhone usability, I have no issues with them. I've gone through some painful bleeding edge technology with the G1, the Vibrant and its crappy GPS issue, and now I'm testing out a Nokia Lumia 710 which has actually impressed me, minus the availability of WP7 apps. I like the fact that they're cheap as hell compared to AT&T or Verizon.

True , i would rather wait as it will be annouced on the 24th here in the US . International user would cry in envy not having an lte and for what i know the UK will be introducing the lte band by the end of october which makes the international 3g version seems obsolete in lessthan 2mos.

LTE in the UK will initially only be available in 10 cities, and on ONE network. It'll be at least a year before other networks get theirs online as they spectrum sale isn't due to happen until spring 2013. Then it'll take a year or more to roll out to anywhere other than the major cities, then even more time for the contract prices to become reasonable.
By the time LTE becomes viable here, everyone's 2 year contracts on their N2's will be long finished.
For me 3G is enough, and it is absolutely not slow, 5-6 mbps is more than enough on a smartphone . Keep in mind the LTE consumes alot from the battery.

I'm on 3G HSPA+, and achieve speeds of 10mbits down.
I'm happy as I've never had anything faster than 5mbits on iPhone 4. I'm in UK, so we're still deprived of 4G.
For those lot in the States, and if you're used to 4G speeds, I would say wait til your carrier offers it.
I guess it depends on your requirements, for me, I am on wifi 90% of the time, so it doesn't particulary interest me. Although of course it would be nice to have.
dont buy the international version, it's only GSM. Get the CDMA/LTE/GSM version when it comes out on Sprint or Verizon, and it's an international phone with support for even more frequencies.
FYI, Singapore will be selling international N7105 by end of OCT too. LTE version of cos.

So I'm currently using the Motorola Atrix on AT&T and I will be selling it for the N4. I was just wondering if I will have any problems using it with at&t or something. My contract ends in 5 months and I will be going prepaid after that. Thanks.
No problems, other than you won't have LTE. You have to set the APN manually as well, before data works. But calling works right off the bat
I wonder if it will work on Medianet, or if At&t will flag them all right away.

I would be surprised if Google didn't add AT&T's APN by default. Surely you aren't correct about this (not that it matters).
You will also need to pay $27 to get your sim changed to a micro sim... (EVEN if you buy it before hand...)

They will replace your SIM for free if you go to an official AT&T store. If you go to an "AT&T Authorized Retailer", then they may or may not do it for free.
Go here: http://www.att.com/storelocator/
Look at locations near you, and go to one that says "AT&T" and not one that says "AT&T Authorized Retailer", and you should be good.

E-X-A-C-T-L-Y. I am on AT&T too, and yup. On a contract, I have unlimited data, and my area gets pretty decent-great reception, so HSPA+ even at 21Mbps will do me well. And the point that it is unlocked, and it being a high spec phone for 299-349 $ blows my mind. Selling my S3 for this! I don't even have LTE in my area, so its al good! Gotta love a nexus! The most I've got in London is 5mb down, 2mb up on T-Mobile. In North London anyway, not sure about central or any where else.
I agree that speed has increased lately, but best I could get are these
I get 12Mbs at work on 3 in the UK (Nottingham) normally between 5 and 6Mbs from home

I attach a screenshot. I also don't think this is 4g LTE but rather a good working HSPA+ running below 21mb. I am located in central London.
Nevertheless this is a very impressive speed and raises the question who wants for 4G LTE that few tests have shown reaches over 20 MB???
Edit!
These are my speeds at home im from kent in uk

4G at the moment in the UK is nothing more then a empty bottle. No UK phone is capable of having the 4G. All UK phones and tablets run on 3G. EE will be releasing lte phones in the new year.
The main reason EE have released 4G early is to claw in extra contracts. The biggest problem EE have is there coverage. The coverage is weak and inconsistent for 3G let alone the 4G.
Anyone who is serious about 4G should wait until at least a year.

I'm not joking no UK phone currently runs 4G. Anyone who tells you differently they just don't know how 4G works. If you've got a GS3 or iPhone 5 in the last 6 months on contract with EE they will let you upgrade to the lte verson for £90.00 when they release them next year.
4G coverage will be poor for at least a year if not more for most places. City's and very large towns will have coverage in the next year but the coverage will be dependant on operator.
