There's a lot of things I'm wondering about myself, including usb otg host support, ability for a slew of new roms to be ported that previously weren't because of the lack of a 3.0 kernel, a re-issuing of other previously ported roms to work with this (miui), etc. Also patches to bring us closer to the 3.x rc releases. In terms of new features there really aren't any between 2.6 vs. 3.0. as 3.0 was just a bump for the 20 year anniversary.
Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_kernel#Version_numbering
"On 29 May 2011, Linus Torvalds announced[122] that the kernel version would be bumped to 3.0 for the release following 2.6.39, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Linux. It continued the time-based release practice introduced with 2.6.0, but using the second number...i.e. 3.1 would follow 3.0 after a few months. An additional number (now the third number) would be added on when necessary to designate security and bug fixes, as for example with 3.0.18."
Still this is very exciting. And, elginsk8r, we all appreciate the work you've done. Thank you.

Does anyone experience the phone getting hot while playing music with headphones and the battery draining quickly? That's the only problem with the kernel for me. I would like more people to show me or say something about temperature so that I can pinpoint whether its only my device or its actually a common problem
Sorry that I'm repeating myself. Only one user showed me his temperature

It COULD be a problem people get, but not often. I myself have had that happen twice but it smoothed itself out. Try to just reflash, brand new and wait to set it up in a cool area, (not your pocket). This happened on your ROM and it smoothed itself out! also, let your battery collaborate. I always have bad battery on the first cycle of any ROM.

idk about that...it doesnt seem normal. and even while in a phone call with a headset, im charging my phone and it gets really, really hot (close to 115 degrees). my phone doesnt charge, but instead loses 1% and it keeps losing power while on the phone. how is that even possible...charging my phone and losing 1%?? that clearly is a kernel issue, something with the headphone jack and the kernel, but i know its a work in progress. *sigh* i cannot afford a damaged phone right now but i really want to use the ROM
the 3.0 sense kernel, btw, doesnt have that problem

I also am having the temperature increase problem when listening to music with headphones in the jack. Never had that problem with any new flash of jb. I've watched the cpu scale up but it goes to 245MHz while the music is playing. So I'm assuming it's not the cpu heating up. Could it be the antenna? Note I'm streaming from the mobile network, WiFi disconnected. I have done this on numerous other ROMs without this problem. I'm not sure if there's another kernel I could use? I've flashed frosted cherry and grapefruit, both jelly bean kernels, but it doesn't even get to the boot animation after flashing them. Restoring to the original kernel and it boots perfectly. Thanks in advance!

This is obviously the only 3.X.X kernel we have for CM10 /JB and it was just released last night,It is obviously work in progress,to flash another kernel you will need to go back and install one of the JB ports and use one of Synthetics 2.6 kernels modded for those.IMO .
Hey, that's all I wanted to know, sorry for being a dumbass and asking. I honestly didn't know it was the ONLY kernel. I'm not rushing things at all for developing. The developer did a wonderful job putting this together for us all. I was posting a question without a good knowledge it was the only kernel. I'm sorry. Edit** read your post wrong and no I wasn't kidding. Like I said, I didn't know about this being the only kernel

So far so good with me. Battery has barely dropped and i been kickin 4g......
top -m 5 -n 1
Try that in command prompt after a bit and see what you get
With the sensors working correctly....battery life has got be superior. Rite?
Go get this from kernel manager people! Top of the line
It's been reported the battery life is pretty good. I think it'd be that much better with SBC, though. Hopefully someone can mod it into the kernel.

It might help to flash a custom kernel that supports voodoo control. Be careful not to boost the volume too much and blow the speaker. As with all mods, once you depart from stock there is a risk of screwing things up, especially if you don't what you're doing.

There is, but I don't suggest using it... it is easy to root the phone, just look up the guide and have fun. It's fun to figure out how to do stuff.
I have not heard of anyone being charged for tethering, but it does not tether 4G.
Download voodoo control from the market (requires a custom kernel, I suggest matrix kernel), it can raise the sound level.
have fun!
Matrix kernel is the best? Or which is the best

Both support bln, voodoo, overclock up to 1.4 MHz, and undervolt (for better battery and less stability).
Netarchy supports several additional features, such as touchscreen sensitivity tweaks if you tweak the config files. See the OP for the full list of features.
Matr1x runs at 1.2GHz by default (i.e. without changing the settings in Set CPU). It includes a custom boot animation, which you can change back if you like. Overall, it seems to be more stable, a bit smoother, and better for battery life. Compactness, stability, and battery life seem to be higher priorities to the dev than adding exciting new features. It is less tolerant of undervolting, if that's a concern. Turn off things such as wifi and 4g before flashing, to avoid issues.
Both devs are phenomenal, and I don't think you could go wrong with either. James Bond is also quite popular. For either, cfs seems to be slightly more stable than bfs for most people.
Note: Put the flamethrowers down. These are my own personal opinions and observations. YMMV
Matr1x kernel is very good i use it as my daily, if i were you i would just try them all and see which you prefer.
I have heard nothing but great things from both devs and their followers. I will probably try Matr1x first because it comes with Mikeyinid's rom already and his rom is about what I am looking for.

Big Ups to RandomKing for this one. I can't post in the development section just yet, but this is by far the best battery life ROM(if not ROM period) for my specific Epic. I've not had ANY of the issues others have reported with either version. (I think my Eagle worked fine because I already had Chris' EG22Plus Kernel Loaded). Right now I'm draining 1% or less an hour when idle, and barely 3% with keeping my background data and auto sync on for work purposes. I think it would be even better if I wasn't using the gmail app.
Everyone else who may have tested this on both the kernel Egret comes with, and EG22Plus Kernel. Which one's working out best for you so far? I've had such luck on EG22Plus I don't even want to try running without it.

Yeah props man! This rom is snappy. I am enjoying the "stock" kernel rather than the cleanEG22 kernel from performance but I have noticed the clean kernel left more available memory after a task killer or memory clear. The more I kill hrough the day, the less and less availble memory every time even though the services and programs do not show as running anymore...

Though he will be, if he continues to not provide source as required by the GPL... (Find a source link on the linked page... I see none.)
Very cool

I hope he provide his source next time, there's no reason not to IMO.

Just visited the site and none of the Roms there have a crespo subcategory ... Shouldn't there be the latest raspbeanjelly ?

Rascarlo said he had his files removed due to their age. He is no longer supporting our phones since they have been dropped from aosp. He did ask in the trinity thread of users wanted him to reupload his rom.

"There is no support for 4.2 on Nexus S and Xoom. Those devices should continue using 4.1.2. "
source: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/android-building/-ymcoMuDAbA
And there will be no official 4.2
I think 4.2 and 4.2.1 have lots of nice new features (like the quick settings tiles in the notification bar) but under the hood, it's a gigantic piece of sh!t, it seems. I've never seen my NS4G chew through the battery so fast in my life!!! Leaving mobile data enabled is a sure death-sentence for the battery in a matter of hours, even if it's in sleep mode!!

Still early, it keeps getting better and better everyday! I am running DaxMax's Xylon 4.2.1 on my Galaxy Nexus and it is by far the best Android I have had to date! All this negative talk has a lot to do with certain Mod's and certain Gapps people are trying to run with 4.2.1 that breaks things and are not compatible. There is a lot of dirty flashing and ignorance contributing to this gossip about 4.2.1 being a disaster. The first time I flashed it I hated it and directly went back to 4.1.2 thinking I would wait til it is complete but the second time I flashed it I am convinced I will not be looking back!
I'm happy running 4.2... Its issues that were also common in 4.0/4.1 when they were first introduced. There are some great people working on it, so I imagine it'll get better soon.

I love rasbean. I'll give this a try and let you know what I think. Thanks.
EDIT: It's alive!! And it's working beautifully! I don't know what error it is you're talking about. This is nice!
Just a tip to fellow flashers though: you need to flash separate camera and keyboard zips (but only if you use gesture typing), and superSU. Other than that, solid man, just solid.

Isn't it weird though that there is no crespo even in the CM7 section on euroskank ?

That was dropped eons ago though. fuzz used to maintain crespo cm7 if I'm not mistaken, and although gearhead could always be nice and maintain it, I don't believe there's any point.
Is there a latest rasbeamjelly available? Not the 4.2 one
From the trinity thread...
