Big Ups to RandomKing for this one. I can't post in the development section just yet, but this is by far the best battery life ROM(if not ROM period) for my specific Epic. I've not had ANY of the issues others have reported with either version. (I think my Eagle worked fine because I already had Chris' EG22Plus Kernel Loaded). Right now I'm draining 1% or less an hour when idle, and barely 3% with keeping my background data and auto sync on for work purposes. I think it would be even better if I wasn't using the gmail app.
Everyone else who may have tested this on both the kernel Egret comes with, and EG22Plus Kernel. Which one's working out best for you so far? I've had such luck on EG22Plus I don't even want to try running without it.

Similar pleasant, stable, battery-efficient experience here too in using RandomROM 2.2 Plus from the ACS Updater. I've stayed with the stock Vision kernel as I'm happy with that for now.
Thumbs up to RandomKing from me as well for all his contributions to the Epic 4G community.

I've been running this ROM and it is snappy. And I would almost think it is near SRF1.2 snappy.
I am very pleased, and now with the overscroll and CRT animation it is pretty sweet.

I think the OP meant they could not post a comment in the RandomRom thread, not starting a new thread in Dev... pretty sure you cant even post a reply in Dev with low post count... not sure, its been a while.
Well, I'm glad you were so excited that you felt the urge to post, but just do idle comments, posting IN threads, not making them. Sooner or later, you'll get used to posting things, or sharing your opinion, and the post counter will start to fly. Congrats, and welcome to xda
Thanks for the support. The EG22 AIO patch does completely work now, and crawjr has incorporated it into his theme.
It will be built into the next RandomROM alpha revision hopefully later this week. Still waiting on a replacement phone...

It seemed to me I noticed a slight improvement when I installed the V6 supercharger. REally hard to say because it was snappy before.
I will say the apps seem to scroll more smoothly.
Yeah props man! This rom is snappy. I am enjoying the "stock" kernel rather than the cleanEG22 kernel from performance but I have noticed the clean kernel left more available memory after a task killer or memory clear. The more I kill hrough the day, the less and less availble memory every time even though the services and programs do not show as running anymore...

Posting this because I'm curious as to how long it took for stable ROMs to be available for Froyo. I'm on SFR 1.2, it is my 1st and only ROM, which I got as soon as it came out. I wasn't there for the wait for development, and now that I am for Gingerbread, I'm wondering what's the "average wait time" for stable ROMs? If I had to use a direct example: since Froyo was made available, how long before SFR 1.2 showed up? It would give me a better sense of understanding the development in that aspect. It would also give me something to look forward to; to more or less "know" (or think I know - lol) when to expect the stable ROMs. I've been reading the development of LegendaryROM and ACS ICS and although tempting, I can't bring myself to installing these just yet. Nothing against the people working hard on them, but they are in Beta/WIP stage; and after months of great performance with SFR 1.2, I know I want THE final build
I'm also aware that it may vary; but still an idea of how long would be nice. I'd like to point out I'm not asking for specific ETAs; just wondering

You must be afraid to try something else? Maybe not skilled enough to bounce from creative rom to rom? What do you have to lose? I'm on ei22 thunderhawk and I can tell you this rom is stable, as all the other ei22's I've sampled. If you install correctly, you'll be fine. Its the overclocking that begins the issues.

I've flashed more ROMs on other friend's phones. I'm aware of the steps to take. Not really afraid, just no need to flash other stuff. And from what I've read, some people are having problems with either data, wifi, bluetooth, force closing apps, gps, hotspot, among other things, on the current EI22 ROMs. I'm aware these are happening because of the fact they were just recently released and are in beta. And as for overclocking, never had to do it. Phone is fast enough, and when I've tried before it always freezes it :3 And can you blame me for being hesitant? I depend too much on my phone, and even though most of those who decide to flash EI22 are enjoying its goodness, some have bugs. Bugs I can't afford to have :>

This ^^ I've managed to make every possible use out of my phone. Managing files for college work, gaming, videos, sharing and all that good stuff, along with less useful things. Somehow, with all the crap I've stacked on my phone, it all runs smoothly. I am enjoying this "balance" too much to flash another ROM at the moment.
Still curious about overall "time frame"

Personally I'm on Legendary Rom 3.3... no real issues, other than intermittent wifi problems. Exchange activesync email works, gmail works fine, no random reboots, etc. Give it a shot if you want.
As most dev's will say it is done when it is done. This is not their full time thing so I would guess it would be hard to put a timeline on it.
SRF1.2 took a bit of time before it got to where it is. I believe we may of had a few more people working on it back then too.

This being covered time and time again in many different posts over many different threads almost warrants no answer but ill give you one and here it is
try them all flash one per day till you find one that works for you the way you like it everyone uses their phone differently so no matter what you will get different results than i do or the next person that post on this
It's really up to you, try them out and see what you like the best. I've tried all 3 kernels currently out right now and they all work pretty good. The two I usually stick with are shadow kernel and the samurai kernel. Shadow kernel is nice and makes everything feel real snappy. You can overclock to 1400 mHz and the battery life for me is good. The newest shadow, tanto, overclocks to 1500 mHz and works with voodoo control. Haven't gotten the chance to really test battery since it just came out but so far it runs pretty good. Just test both of them out, you can always flash over another kernel.

I'm using shadow now and have used apro's too and they both worked great. You need to experiment with them, and you're going to have to tweak to get better battery life. I had several trying to constantly run and none of them were things I use a lot so they had to go. If I wanted super battery life I would have bought a flip phone and not a micromini laptop, and I wouldn't have such a joyful device to tinker with.

Stock is always going to be the best for wanting nothing but the simplicity.
Put it like this when i buy a car, i put bigger tires on my car for grip, and better handling. But i know i will loose some gas mileage but not alot.
I'll put a turbo and some internals into my engine to gain in power but will loose gas.
But if we can put bigger tires and a bigger turbo but still have the same gas results as stock, Then why not do it?
We all benefit in one area and thats why custom kernels are there for those who want options that stock doesn't provide.
Stock= Base Model
Custom = Fully Loaded
Simple as that. So everyone should try different kernels and then reply not saying oh this is the best. But say IMO i prefer this over that simply because of these reasons. Everyone will want a specific kernel because one may like different things about the different kernels

If you want to live on the bleeding edge: earthbound's

So from now on his latest kernels will be found here :indandroidprj.zxq.net

I didn't know. I tend to stay out of the XDA drama and try my best to avoid it altogether. Sadly this also means that I lose track of where devs go after they inevitably get pissed off and leave. No idea why the Samurai guy left, but I am sure it was chock full of drama. I did like his kernel before it stopped showing up here.
I thought that the info was needed. And after 24 hour of it being up it only showed 72 downloads and I figured if I let others know that it was up that others would enjoy it again. And some others don't prowl sites like I do and wouldn't have kept going back there. I do hope this is helpful for others and seeing as his forums don't seem to have activity it might be nice to have a place where you can check to see about issues and other results .

It wasn't meant to benifit us it was meant to help him so other can compile their own kernel. It uses his repo and you pull from it and using the helper you compile it for either cm9 cm7 miui tw bml/mtd and miuiv4. This will do everything you compile whichever and it will put a samurai.zip in your out folder and youllhave a flashable kernel. I'v been using Samurai kernels for a while now, the best battery life I ever saw was on Marcusants ROM with an early samurai kernel. It seemed like they worked out better in the past, I would get 2 days and some hours with no UV. I cant for the life of me remember what scheduler/governor combo I was using. Last night I charged my phone to 100% and let it sit over night. Found it with 18% battery left this morning. idk whats changed over the months, maybe CM9 is just more battery hungry than our old GB roms. I will try the VR/ Conservative and see how long it lasts.

LINKS will be up soon. Check out our blog for news and rom dowloads. This ROM IS DISCONTINUED BUT MAJOR CREDIT GOES TO MARCUSANT for creating the Acs Ics Rom which is wat we built off of.
Should be in development not in general no? I'm sure this will take off real quick with all those srf 1.2 fans =].

I cannot find the roms section of the website, what is this even built off of el30, fc09 or aosp? This thread has an off vibe to it already :/

Lol, when you scan XDA as much as I do everyday, you easily point out the people who have never posted. I have many doubts in the truth to this thread. Could be an iphone, gap sweater wearing, sleezebag. No pun intended to the OP

It could be the group made a new user name that their dev members share and that would explain their first post to give benefit of the doubt.
Or it could be Looneyskunk....lol.

They did not state any details. Also, the srf tweaks are just old versions of generic tweaks and it did not have a unique status bar (weird that the op says it uses the srf status bar).

I bet you have to sign up to have privilages to see rom section.
And why in the name of all things oats & apples would you post a rom thread in "general"?

Sorry :/
Hello Guys sorry for the late post. This rom is indeed an actual rom. We are a new user to XDA and accroding to them, We have to have at least 10 post before we can post in the Dev. Thread. Am i wrong.? I cant post the link on here because of the posting rules. This rom is built off of EI22, But we have tested on ECO5 and EB13 and it does work. We replace the link on our blog for you users having trouble finding the ROM section. We apologize for the Issues you may have. Check out our blog again and the link should be on the home page. Heads Up: It is a 4shared link and 4shared does require that you have an account. So please be mind of that. Thank You.
Explanation.!
And to all you guys keep asking why am i posting in the GENERAL thread. Its because i cannot post in the DEV. thread until i accomplish 8-10 post. We are new to XDA and are rookies when it comes to there guidelines and how there site RUNS. Just give us some time to gain knowledge of the site and i promise you, we will have everything on point.
Well sadly you all are 2 official OTA releases behind the curve and there is 1 leaked non-OTA release which is the most recent build.

We Know that. We've already researched the ACS Syndiacte Status Notes. But not all builds run properly on One's device. Actually some updates can screw up the phone. We built off the most stable update, And tweaked the performace, thats all. I know alot of people are looking for the next big thing. But there are some that are satisfied with what they have. This is only tweaks to what they have to make it run more smoothly. We are making ROMS now with the latest builds.

Our latest ota was el30 so technically that would be the most stable build... still though, great job! Always good to have choices... might flash this later just for giggles... going "old school" on em! Lol

Actually i flashed the latest build on my Epic 4g. I even used QBKing77 instructions and it wrecked my phone. i have CWM 3.1.0.1. I currently run CM9 and it runs perfect. But since the latest build wrecked my phone it encouraged me to make tweaks on the most stable build for MY PHONE, And many others who are having issues with the latest build. Dont get me wrong i love The ACS Team's work, Its pure genius. Thats why im using some of there tweaks and not others. But anways thanks for the support and happy flashing. ^____^
Wow! EB13!! I suddenly have an urge to go out and drink a Pepsi-Clear while listening to "hair metal" music. Very Retro!!
I welcome new devs with open arms; but I won't touch a new Rom until Kennyglass or Marcusant say its clean...

Remember people this is only our first rom. Perfection isn't the key. Its just basic changes for smoother performance for people who prefer the EI22.builds. We are working on 3 different roms right now and one we are starting from scratch.
Thanks for the support.
