I updated my defy to CM10, then Gallery can't load any old pictures while the Apollo can't load any musics either.
I had tried many tips on internet, only one works on me seeing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29668749&postcount=3529.
I found many topics in XDA talking about "Class-10" and "Class-4" on this issue, actually, if your SD-card works correctly and only Album and Media Player doesn't, you could try this method to solve it.
It really works for me.

I have just bluetoothed a music file from my Galaxy tablet to my Galaxy s and once it had sent, i went into the music player to play the file and it had a picture from my phone gallery on it (like a cover) how do i change that?
The file on my tablet doesnt have the picture when played just on my phone??

Hey,
Yesterday I've got my new Nexus7 3G.
But theire is one big problem. After I put music on my nexus, the music was shown in the music player. But after a while the player does not show the Songs. I can play the Songs over my file explorer, but the player say's 'no Songs on the device'
When i load the music again on the tablet the player shows it a while, but then it is away, too.
Can anyone help me?

Did you reset the Cache and data of the musicplayer and the "Medienspeicher" (dont know the english name, but i suppose your german, too )
Go to Settings/Apps/All and go to your musicplayers and "medienspeicher" and stop them, reset all data and clear cache.
Then restart your devices. Worked for me.
Is there a way to choose an artist image for music stored locally on the device? (On the internal memory, not on the cloud ) I just get a blank space (see attached pic ) .

Use iTag from Play Store to download the album art, then go to Settings>Apps>Google Play Music and clear data. Then relaunch the app.
As for the artist art, I used to get them when I had the Walkman app (It just showed the artist art downloaded by Walkman) but since I flashed another ROM, I lost Walkman app and now I get blank space too

Right now the only way to get Google Music to display the Artist Art is to upload the music via the desktop (windows/mac) Google Music app :crying:
Hello, recently installed miui on my N4 and I've got a small ptoblem:
The music player isn't reading any of my music on the storage and the file explorer isn't showing how many songs,videos,photos etc I have on the phone.
This problem also ocurred on my s2 with some miui versions but I couldnt find a solution..
Any suggestions?
Search for gallery refresh in the play store. That should solve your problem.

That didn't work but I used media scanner and everything is fine now. I guess the media scanner is bugged or broken.
I want to hide album covers from the picture viewer so I use a .nomedia file in the 'root' folder where all my music is in per groups folders.
It works which is good
But it is also hiding the music from the music player (winamp).
Trying various things to 'get around' it and of course googling but does anyone know a 'solution'?
using standard 4.3 picture viewer.

Just make a top level folder and call it Media,place all music in there.
This was a known quirk at least 4yrs ago.
What Android should have done and could maybe do in the future is have different kinds of .nomedia files.
Example.....
.nopictures
.nomusic
That's why i don't use the crap stock gallery App.
I use QuickPic and then I can hide the folders like Music or other folders with unwanted pictures
Nomedia files hide MEDIA
Music, pictures and videos is media

I used QP in the past but like features of stock gallery.
It also seems that the media folder solution is just a temporary thing
Stock gallery also has the hide feature but it doesn't actually work.
So still looking for a solution............
Open the Music app once so it will load those files. After that you can delete those files but the album art will still stay with the music.
Best way it seems is to embed the art into the music then can get rid of album arts.
