no - we will get 24h battery...

What possesses people to make new threads like this? This isn't a chat room.

With 5.0 we will be able to time travel to a point were the battery is always charged. I would wait for that version.

Seems legit..

cant believe this comes from a senior member

I'm beta testing in 2020 now. Smoooooooth here.

He is right. Project Roadrunner is like Project Butter for battery. It is supposed to make the device last MUCH longer than if it was running Android 4.1 or something before that.

There is no proof of that, all the rumors that were posted on Android and Me were retracted and said to be fake.

I received the next JB and it was only 4.1.2. I have 12 hours of battery but the last 2-3 hours of it are with the battery dead.

Why was the Epic not released with Froyo

Why did that not have froyo on the phone when it was released? Froyo was out for a while before the phone was released, so does anybody have any idea why they didn't start out with froyo? Did they like ecairs better than ice cream? Who knows?

Because they didn't.
/thread
The development cycles on these phones is 6 or 7 months if not longer. When they started on the phone, FroYo probably wasn't to manufacturers yet. It is not easy at all to change course with software projects. And incredibly expensive to chunk everything that you have and start over. So they build it on eclair, and work on FroYo when its released, also you have all of the politics involved about which phones in your lineup gets updated, how many developers to put on each piece of hardware. I don't think most people realize the amount of planning that goes into any software written for profit. You'd probably **** your self if you saw some of my Gantt Charts, time lines, flow charts and other various wastes of paper that are done before a single line of code is typed (with the exception of prototyping) You can't just take a leap and start coding, switch gears 11 times, then hope to ever hit a deadline or budget. There isn't a lot of cost in the actual product of software, but the minds that power it are not cheap labor.

You have ruined my day posting Barry pic.

Come on already who cares about gingerbread? Ics is the new flavor fav of the month

Let's face it once google announced the ics as the next version of android why do some people still want gb when ics can be leaked and used on our phones. Google needs to be the one doing the updates not the carriers and phone makers. Google should open a beta and prebeta builds to all who want them.

could you people please stop answering him like anything he says is serious?
For someone who's been around since the 70's you seem to not understand the development life cycle of a product to be expecting such an asinine thing to happen.
Using win7 (retail) to win8 (alpha) argument proves your failure to grasp that.
BTW, i love how decad3nce pwned your last post. LOL

Because to us Gingerbread is the most important release ever! Gingerbread was made with Hummingbird in mind..ICS is a huge improvement for dual core phones..while we definitely get some new features, you would not notice such huge performance increases as you do with Gingerbread.
Locked. OP, check your pm's.

Dissatisfied with EVO, what's wrong with you!!!

I glanced over at the sprint forum and folks are enraged that the Oct 25th release is actually just online & telephone order, and the device wont ship for about 4-10 days. I want the device but not that bad to throw a childish tantrum like a 6yo.
Yeah its a cool phone but it wont change my life it wont give me a raise and it's more important things to concern your self that unboxing on the 25th. Are women gonna give me a cell number and say call me I like your phone.. NO...that's what the Yamaha r1 and Mercedes is for..lmao.
3 additional phones will be dropping in the first quarter so I can still wait. Some of you are in need of a new phone since that evo might be on its last leg. My evo works fine and thanks for development of cool roms to keep me busy.
So for me its still no rush, cause the evo works , I rather wait for the kinks to get ironed out.. and I want gameloft MC4 working out the gate.. none of that device is not compatible crap....
Ummm what are you talking about? What evo 4g is shipping out the 25th??

Oh hell yeah can't wait to get the Multi window feature.
.
.
Well, if they're testing it is because it's possible. I've seen the old SGS1 doing SO much even with that severe lack of memory, i reckon 1Gb is more than enough to do everything if well coded. I'm guessing it's just easier for samsung to add more ram than waste time in optimized coding and probably was a bit overboard hence the actual memory "problems". That and poor ram managing, my phone just seems to kill any process if the screen goes off after a while (it's a pain to download any game's extra data after installing, phone just cuts it off)
Anyway, this is wonderful news, thank you. Can't wait
Desperately waiting for this feature Great News
With this feature the s3 will definetly pwn the iphone5 and the nexus4 xd

believe me, when we'll have it, it'll post.
finger cross it'll be on final version as well.
I hope there will be a leak and then i can try to port it to the i9305
Yeah, right. I believe it when I see it, and a possibly photoshopped picture isn't valid proof.
the ****ers decided to make it as a closed beta only for those who bought their phone directly from them.
Heh i see this rom have kernel from 6-9 Nov xd

I'm actually hoping we'll get 4.3 cause it's still Jelly Bean hope dies last, right?

I think it is possible to receive the Update .
i doubt our devices would get it but if there's a chance, its going to take samsung a long time for that update
While still Android 4.x, it'll put so many improvements.

+1 I'll do the same. I agree with you completely.
the one thing that puts me off of a nexus device the screen size
the next thing that puts me off is the method to unlock and root the device
