This would have made the ultimate phone, but no they had to put it on a crap phone on metro pcs.
Why would samsung who makes international devices, support a regional tv station? It's only avaliable in some US states.
Now if it was a global solution that would be a different matter.

I haven't heard anything about the Samsung Galaxy 3 S.A.F.E. edition which stands for Samsung Approved For Enterprise. Should be coming out very soon.

The packaging says S.A.F.E at the back, so I'm assuming all devices have it (atleast the At&T ones).

The Verizon version (at least) is S.A.F.E.
My Sprint one also has the S.A.F.E. logo on the box
att as well
T-Moble one says SAFE and Samsung Approved For Enterprise as well.
I have a T-Mobile Galaxy S III and the packaging has the S.A.F.E. logo and paper.
I believe SAFE was just a certified program Samsung announced after the phone's launch, but contains features already found in the phone.
Does anyone know when the Note 3 will be released in Japan? Also, how does it differ from the standard version?

I thought the same but DoCoMo shop doesn't have it, they are still trying to get rid of Note 2.

I am in Japan right now and I can tell you it's not released, I couldn't even find it in Akihabara. I am pretty much the only person riding the subway with one right now.
If I heard correctly, it should release at the end of this month along with the Galaxy gear. (I couldn't find these either, in fact people were very surprised when they saw me receive my e-mails on my watch)

The 16GB HK version is available imported at Akihabara 「秋葉原」I would advise you to wait and get it from a Japanese carrier though.

Not the currently allocated spectrum, though some new frequencies are planned that aren't supported by international devices. Otherwise you can get LTE service from pretty much every carrier in Japan assuming you have the right SIM card in. Even KDDI although you can't place calls on it because it tries to switch back to the CDMA CS domain and the phone is only GSM/WCDMA/LTE compatible
(See the attached pic for my status on KDDI LTE network with the international note 3). Also KDDI LTE sucks in Tokyo because they only use a 5Mhz bandwidth. Better get Softbank, DoCoMo or emobile for a better service. Emobile doesn't have LTE cells in subway tunnels though while the other carriers do.

Excellent information, very useful. I'm not in Tokyo so subway coverage isn't a main concern. Is it even possible to buy an unlocked Note 3 in Japan? Emobile sounds interesting, never heard about them, the only non-traditional carrier I know is Willcom. My main usage will be as a PDA rather than a phone and I expect to use it as a mobile router and tether with tablets, Ultrabook and laptop, so a fast unrestricted mobile data plan is essential, back home my data volume hovered around 100 GB a month, geospatial database usage.

Emobile offers unlimited data service for rekatively cheap and can fall back to softbank 3G when there is no LTE available. It can't use Softbank LTE though. It's data only, it doesn't offer voice plans.
It's the best quality/price service for tablets and computers.
Yes you can but an unlocked note 3 IF imported. Otherwise you can buy one from DoCoMo xi and get it unlocked later, not sure if Softbank offer that service.
The only unrestricted LTE data service that I know of is emobile, all the other services are capped.

Man, you have some hard core specific knowledge about the Japanese mobile market. How would I get a Note 3 and use it with emobile? Can I get a Note 3 from DoCoMo with only voice and add emobile data? If memory serves the big three all had data limitations on their plans, and coming from Europe I'm flabbergasted at how willing the Japanese consumer is to pay through their collective noses like they were proud of being suckers.

By looking at the image you attached, looks little bit expensive for the imported phone. The prices showed above 80,000 Yen.
Now LTE ver sells around HKD 55xx, which is around 688xx Yen.

Yes, the prices are really high in Japan for imported handsets, that's a sad fact. You may have better luck buying one from expansys Japan

Hum... since the none of the models sold in Japan aren't dual SIM, the only way to use DoCoMo for voice and emobile for data would be to use a mifi. Emobile has offers with those. I am using one right now while in Japan and they work great.

So it might actually be smarter to get an emobile account and limit myself to VoIP? Choices, choices.

According to CNETs interview, the head of Sony mobile has been in talks with multiple US carriers.
Unfortunately the z1s was released recently pushing a z2
Release back.
As a vzw customer I would pick this over an s5 hands down.
I hope so.this phone is a beast

Has anyone managed to find a 32gb version for Europe? I can't even find any news of when it is likely to be released. A couple of ebay vendors are selling a Singaporean 32gb S5, but not sure if I should trust them, or whether they will work with the UK and European networks.
Is anyone else hanging on for the 32gb version?
Yep, waiting as well but no one seems to know when.

Good to know that it exists at least! I wonder why Samsung are delaying the release in other markets

Samaung doesn't sell anything direct to consumers. Their customers are carriers and huge distribution companies. The networks only want 16gb in the UK. So a 32gb won't appear.

Agree not sure why they can't sell the unlocked models on their website like HTC, Moto, Sony, Apple does (atleast in the US). I would definitely buy the unlocked model without carrier crap and ugly branding. Sure root and remove the crap, but why not sell unlocked directly to customers like other companies do.

You mean there has never been a 32gb Samsung in the UK? Didn't know that.
How can I work out which countries phones will work on the UK network? Can't find a resource.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
Samsung lied on the Note 3 release also, promising a 64GB version which only arrived in one-two countries, If they haven't sent out any 32GB versions yet then I'd assume they won't - as another poster pointed out, with the subsidised UK Networks none will really want the 32GB version, but there *may* be a 32GB carrier free at some point in the future.. I wouldn't hold your breath tho tbh

No wonder why we are behind the rest of the world on everything. even the networks are faster then anywhere in UK. I have a 16 gb s5 and it's full, so I have to go down the root of rooting my phone so I can use the external card. shame on you phone providers.

Or, would the Dubai or Singapore versions work? These can be delivered internationally.

I'd be willing to buy one from someone who can purchase one for me
Anybody think we would have a case if we file a class action lawsuit against samsung and verizon. For locking down our phones and not letting us use android for what it was intended for. I mean android being open source means we should be able to change it to our liking. Not be lock down and missing the full android experience that it offer because I'm sure all of you agrees that TouchWiz sucks and the galaxy note line that samsung offer is awesome. Need some input on what yall think. And if this post is not allowed I do apologize.

Not a chance. You bought the phone locked down. Its not like they locked it after you got it. They don't make any promises that you are buying a phone that is open source and unlocked for modifying
Good luck they can hire 100 lawyers worth 20 grand a piece who you gonna have?
