Starting with Alpha 11, we are now producing Gecko/Gaia recovery updates. The easiest way to apply them is to rely on an alternative recovery, like ClockworkMod Recovery, put the zip file on the device SD card, and then install it.
Before being able to apply updates in recovery mode, you should at least flash partitions with alpha 26, because of the GCC 4.8 switch.
Directions to flash partitions:
Code:
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase system
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
Erasing and flashing the userdata partition should be only done in last resort case when you are hitting issues.
Locales:
Those builds are multi-locales:
They includes all the localization work done by Mozilians that is officially available (present in Gaia and with a Mercurial Gaia-L10N repository).
All the keyboards that are part of Gaia are enabled, starting with alpha 20.
If you are willing to work on a new locale or keyboard, please head to Bugzilla.
Current Status:
Nearly all features should be working as expected. Here is a link for details: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Firefox_OS/Samsung_Nexus_S. Regressions may happens.
Please check and report issues on Bugzilla: make sure the bug is not already reported, and file a new one https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi. Please mark your bug as blocking "b2g-nexuss", so that it can be tracked in the Nexus S support meta-bug.
Screenshots:
This is pretty much how it looks.
Here is a good video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3b0Iy1V2RWc

Yeah sorry. Turns out Formatting System is required. I will fix this in the next update so the flash-able .zip will do this automatically.
So now just follow the directions exactly and it will work.

Haha. No problem. This is why I want it moved to general. I'm not developing it. Just uploading my builds so people can see where Mozilla is heading. Its much better then where it was a month ago.

Wow, this is great! Downloading now to test if it works on the NS4G!
So interesting. Is this a official build?
Aww, didn't work on my NS4G. I wiped data/cache, then /system, but still didn't work. It says
Code:

Installation aborted.
Edit:
Lol, anyone want to help me figure this out? Seems like a great OS, but us NS4G users can't enjoy it... D;
great rom but it lags and thats no my big problem the problem is tha the whole rom needs resisment man calculator for examole is at the top of the screen
Flash ok, boot ok, and wow, it boots very very fast for the first time!! Maybe it doesn't have dalvik cache.
A bit laggy when start apps, auto select network doesn't work, manual select connects fail
One more, icons and text are so tiny :|
It show network bar, strength is good, but can't make phone call, sms,... It said no network connection.

Continuing on from gh123man's Open ICS thread, we extended the scope of the project to cover the A100 & A200 devices too.
For the last month we've been quietly working on this & the wheels are now in motion to get the devices merged into CyanogenMods source.
It should only be a matter of time till the nightlies start rolling.
Merge status: Done
If you wanted to compile for yourself, follow one of the many guides on xda to get your machine set up & the CyanogenMod source downloaded.
Following instructions are for the a500, substitute a100 or a200 as needed
Code:
. build/envsetup.sh
lunch cm_a500-userdebug
Wait for the device folders to be downloaded.
Connect your device via adb.
Run extract-files.sh in the device/acer/a500 folder
Code:
brunch cm_a500-userdebug
wait for the compile to finish (can take a while), flash new rom...
Builds (see post 2)
Contributors:
myself, gh123man, hbwelch, randomblame, shchers
Please hit the thanks button on some of their posts too, this has been a team effort.
Once we're official, threads will be started for each of the devices in their respective forums, in the meantime it'd be good to keep discussion here so it's a little easier for us to track.
Not working:
Known bugs:
Wifi? haven't had a report of trouble in a long time... tentatively saying this is no longer an issue
Reporting bugs
Please please please read the following:
If you have a bug, we need a bit more info than "such & such isn't working"
Things to check before reporting a bug
Did you wipe before flashing the build?
If no, nandroid, wipe & re-flash...
Check to see if the bug still exists.
Did you restore settings/data using Ti backup or similar?
If yes, nandroid, wipe, re-flash & don't restore your data...
Check to see if the bug still exists.
If you've done the above, & the bug is still there, we need some debugging info!
logcat output is usually a pretty good start (post it to pastebin or similar), we will let you know if we need more.

FAQ
Q: assert.failed:getprop("ro.product.device")=="Picas so" || getprop("ro.build.product")=="picasso" E:Error in /sdcard/Download/update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-picasso-UNOFFICIAL-signed.zip Status 7
A: Open the zip. Go to META-INF/com/google/android/update-sctipt. Remove the top line with the assert then repackage and flash has to do with your recovery. some recovery's name the device differently (thors for example does this, just as an example). our tree uses the device name picasso, if the recovery does not use picasso it will fail, the only fix for this is a unified recovery or to remove the line from the update-script, hope this more detailed answer helps more...

501 3g ork or not ?
step by step for the leak?
Ok, I installed the .31 leak. I am happy with it though I noticed some SoD's over the past few days.
I have cm9 on my Captivate and I love it so I want it on the tablet as well. CM has a very nice wiki that walks you though rooting and installing.
Could someone provide some more fleshed out steps for this ROM as well?
I assume I need to:
1. root the leak, probably with blackthundr's method
2. install Clockwork recovery mod (can I use Acer recovery from Google market instead?)
3. boot into recovery and install the rom (factory reset and cache wipes etc, etc)
Am I missing anything? The waters are so muddied for the casual enthusiast with the various leaks and bootloaders and the sudden influx in roms.
Thanks for your work and your patience,

Okay, as I am pretty new to this device as well and I was facing the same situation as you were in, I'll share my experience in this matter:
I basically followed the instructions here to get the correct bootloader and cwm but instead using the package there I used the package from this post under section 1.1.
But I wasn't on the leak so getting my CPUID wasn't as easy as reading out the dmesg (but for you it should work out). I did the nandroid trick as discribed in this post by Euclid's Brother. The UID.txt was under /mnt/external_sd/clockworkmod/backup/2012-04-12.20.33.00/uid.txt. The text in that file I filled in Vache's site to generate my SBK.
Enjoy the reading
After that it was pretty easy. Just flash through cwm and don't forget to flash the gapps but you are used to that.
So does this mean we can get MIUI 4 easily!?
Thanks brother, awesome news for the Acer.Downloading now.
For a first release, this is amazing! Super fast and no bugs so far. All hw works as expected, including the camera. That's especially amazing for an "unofficial" build. Love the boot screen, btw. Can't wait for this to go into the CM9 sources. Definitely a great way to bring new life to the A500.

i see you most likely have an outdated kernel try flashing this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816087
tell me what happens
can somebody give me another link for download, i am unable to download the rom, have tried multiple times... it just stops in the middle.
thankyou.
My efs folder became blank after installing this ROM. I do have a backup but when I copy it to the root of the phone and restart it my IMEI stays unknown, and cant get service? Am I supposed to set some permissions or something?
I came from 4.1.2 MIUI ROM, now I flashed back to that ROM and everything is fine. This is really weird.

yeah that happens..
whenever you flash 4.3 over 4.1.2 or 4.0.4 then the IMEI no becomes invalid..
In your case you need to flash the rom again after you restored the files in the efs folder..
that is why your IMEI no got restored when you flashed back to MIUI....
I wont be able to do it for a while, but is it possible anyone can upload their own screenshots? i will post it on the OP, and give credit to you. thanks in advanced

Welcome to the unofficial CyanogenMod 11.0 nightlies
The build start time is at 03:01 UTC every sunday night and should be uploaded soon after. If at anytime the builds are not there, then there was a problem building the ROM, and we will have a look at it ASAP.
Attention: PARTITIONING REQUIRED.
KitKat takes up more space than 400mb. Resizing your system partition to 500mb is required. Also, this build is a datamedia build - this means that we utilise an emulated sdcard on the data partition and both share the same partition thus space. Yet, the sdcard partition is also mounted and can be used for file usage (deprecated). Resizing the sdcard partition (/dev/media) to a rather small size and allocating the remaining size to /data is recommended.
What is datamedia? Click here.
Advised partition layout
Easiest way to get the correct partition sizes is by using jcsullins tptoolbox
Alternatively one could use "Tailor" in webOS (install with preware et al) and use the following layout:
system - 600mb
cache - 200mb
media - 400mb
data - [remaining space] (i.e. ~11.5gb for 16gb TouchPads)
Download Recovery (CWM-6.0.4.9-jcs)
CWM with datamedia support required to properly support emulated sdcard storage in 4.4
Download builds
Download Google Apps (2014-01-05)

I'm downloading it right now - though it says I have about an hour left on my download...
I have tried several times and can't get it past 35% before interrupt. Have tried 3 different networks. No Problem, it will be there tonight.. I am excited to try it.

6.0.3.6 should be fine
Also make sure it really downloaded the whole thing , I tried probably 20 times now and it never finished
Yeah I think it's failing for you because its not fully downloading. Says it 175MB but only downloads 168MB. You can't open the archive in Windows/Linux either.

Lucky you, I never got more then 101mb
Would be great to have a torrent
May I suggest posting md5 for all downloads, md5?
Thanks, milap.
ok, thanks to XXCoder1 in irc, got this figured out. the file host server sucks. the correct filesize should be 171330kb with an md5 sum of 126b3aac91a26f8ae1066daecaecf5bd. took multiple downloads, so maybe a new host is in order...

yep thats what i thought to, then read this at the top of the dev forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2380904
which basically said if not you own it do not post it there, also suggested posting it here.
Since i only really tweaked the zip of beanstalk to produce Fenris, and just added a little bash code, dont know if it counts as my work, i did not compile anything at all.
Having said that am back at my linux box in 2 days and will compile it from scratch then
Fenris V6 up
First of all, thank you for your effort around making tweaking and modding BeanStalk rom.
After, regarding where it should go, I think it "Android Development" category would fit, but I'm sure someone will confirm and move there if necessary.
Sounds great, can't wait to get home and try it out. I'm currently using PAC, but it lacks a lot of the usual PAC features. Same is for paranoid for Flo, it's almost completely pure AOSP and lacks a lot of the usual features.

What kernel should I use for this - CAF or AOSP?

I'll be happy if it just doesn't random reboot like the CM11 does. So far, only stock is solid.

Nope zero problems for me
V6 semed to have got lost in the air somewhere , but v7 ( pretty stable i think just doing last of the tests ) is up and very very very good
A bit of a warning here, Fenris is not like other roms, to get the best out of it either read the setup instructions with a fine tooth comb, or be VERY familiar with lucky patcher already
Fenris V8 ( what i hope is the last version ) is up, so far no big bugs

Ok am on it, will have a look and fix if necessary within the hour,
There is a separate problem, the new build of beanstalk i am using seems to have broken bluetooth, i have just checked on a clean unmodified beanstalk / fresh flash and def something up with the Bluetooth, since im not compiling it yet doubt can fix, am revering back to the previous release and checking its working on that, if not going on that will be changing rom base.
Just flashed my local V8 with no problems, twice to check,
So has to be a upload/download issue, can you try re-downloading and try again ?, if still issue will re-upload file.
What does the TWRP window say ? does it fail at a script line or fail at the beginning ?

hmm yes obviously an issue when flashing as secondary rom, maybe something to do with the new " check journals gone with a script " feature, will remove it and see if that makes a difference, will call it v8.1 and do it for tonight.
Ps seems Bluetooth does work, just the options>blutooth>on/of switch is flaky, can be swiched well with the drop-down panels.
Its a small bug and do not think its reason to switch base rom.
Have checked pairing with few devices, all pair, by no means a good spread
8.1 is uploaded , can i ask what TWRP you are using ? , i dont recognise your screenshots, is it the multirom app ? I use 2.7 multirom TWRP and it does not look like that ( in fact your screens look much better )

Ahhh thank you very very much, must say one learns something new every day on XDA
Ok found/fixed the issue with Fenris and multirom, the multirom environment is incompatible with my ext4 journal fix, hence i have made a version without my ext4 fix, its in the same folder but with a "multirom" tag, just tested and will be good.
I do a fair amount of weird kernel tweaking in the init.d , no idea if any of that is multirom complaint, certainly have not tested it in that env
V9 is up, this is final stable version, which i use every day, lead post updated.
Q&A for [ROM][LP] CyanogenMod 12 - UNOFFICIAL BUILD for Mako

Use SElinuxModechanger for proper root working
Use SElinuxModechanger form Play store proper root working, as it changes the mode from Enforcing to permissive

CM11 -> CM12 worked for me
I had CM11 with SU.
After installing latest ClockworkMod I flashed the CM12 without issues..
it only gave me 1 error of unmounting/device busy for /data... just ignore it... (althought i missed a heart beat )
then installed superSu v2.19 beta....
works like a charm...
Only thing not working is "Enable quick boot mode"... but that's ok... not an problem...
Thanks

Sorry to bug you.... Just downloaded your cm 12 for the nexus 4. Great rom... Are there any compatible kernels thus far?
How about national roaming in this cm version?

Will be flashing at once
Smooth and User friendly rom
Today I downloaded this custom rom and flashed it through recovery. After that it took me 12 to 15 mins to load to the desktop. Then I flashed the gapps and the supersu v2.16 and rebooted the device. This rom is really cool and it is working great. Battery performance is tremendous. Thanks to the developer for giving such a nice custom rom.
I hope in future theme chooser and other things will be implemented. I am waiting for the updates to come at the earliest.
ok
I flashed it all seems well... O i did find something in the rom... It's not a big deal. And is there a Franco based kernel floating around?
Good ROM
Although premature and pretty much stock AOSP, this build runs well so far. Good battery life and no bugs, really. Got this mainly for DSP Manager (it works!), will be upgrading until an official CM12 build. Thanks for the good work! ?
Excellent work - Small feedback
Hello!
Just to let people know that like myself wondered if it would be ok - This can be flashed using CWM6 I used it myself to flash this!
I got one error as soon as it started flashing about unmounting/device busy but if you just wait the install continues succesfully I went from CM11 Snapshot 12 but I did not dirty flash as I figured that would be the fastest way to introduce errors.
After the first attempt all seemed fine but it simply would not connect to wireless or data connections so bounced back into recovery, wiped data, cache and Dalvik and booted back up and all is working great.
The only app so far that does not work with me is Google authenicator - Can anyone else confirm if this app is working for them or not? It force closes everytime I click Begin setup - Little anoying as I use 2 step auth for my Gmail
Other than this build runs brilliantly and I would like to thank the original poster for his work and time
Yeah the authenticator works for me. May have to wipe and reflash. I found 2 bugs. When you using LTE on our nexus 4 it still says 3g on the status bar. But when you pull it down it says LTE on the tiles......and when you are watching a video on chrome or Facebook. The video plays them freezes but you can still hear and the timer is still going but the video itself is froze.... Check and see if these things happen to you

Can i update this build later with the Original CM 12 Nightly´s?
