Continuing on from gh123man's Open ICS thread, we extended the scope of the project to cover the A100 & A200 devices too.
For the last month we've been quietly working on this & the wheels are now in motion to get the devices merged into CyanogenMods source.
It should only be a matter of time till the nightlies start rolling.
Merge status: Done
If you wanted to compile for yourself, follow one of the many guides on xda to get your machine set up & the CyanogenMod source downloaded.
Following instructions are for the a500, substitute a100 or a200 as needed
Code:
. build/envsetup.sh
lunch cm_a500-userdebug
Wait for the device folders to be downloaded.
Connect your device via adb.
Run extract-files.sh in the device/acer/a500 folder
Code:
brunch cm_a500-userdebug
wait for the compile to finish (can take a while), flash new rom...
Builds (see post 2)

myself, gh123man, hbwelch, randomblame, shchers
Please hit the thanks button on some of their posts too, this has been a team effort.
Once we're official, threads will be started for each of the devices in their respective forums, in the meantime it'd be good to keep discussion here so it's a little easier for us to track.
Not working:
Known bugs:
Wifi? haven't had a report of trouble in a long time... tentatively saying this is no longer an issue
Reporting bugs
Please please please read the following:
If you have a bug, we need a bit more info than "such & such isn't working"
Things to check before reporting a bug
Did you wipe before flashing the build?
If no, nandroid, wipe & re-flash...
Check to see if the bug still exists.
Did you restore settings/data using Ti backup or similar?
If yes, nandroid, wipe, re-flash & don't restore your data...
Check to see if the bug still exists.
If you've done the above, & the bug is still there, we need some debugging info!
logcat output is usually a pretty good start (post it to pastebin or similar), we will let you know if we need more.

FAQ
Q: assert.failed:getprop("ro.product.device")=="Picas so" || getprop("ro.build.product")=="picasso" E:Error in /sdcard/Download/update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-picasso-UNOFFICIAL-signed.zip Status 7
A: Open the zip. Go to META-INF/com/google/android/update-sctipt. Remove the top line with the assert then repackage and flash has to do with your recovery. some recovery's name the device differently (thors for example does this, just as an example). our tree uses the device name picasso, if the recovery does not use picasso it will fail, the only fix for this is a unified recovery or to remove the line from the update-script, hope this more detailed answer helps more...

501 3g ork or not ?
step by step for the leak?
Ok, I installed the .31 leak. I am happy with it though I noticed some SoD's over the past few days.
I have cm9 on my Captivate and I love it so I want it on the tablet as well. CM has a very nice wiki that walks you though rooting and installing.
Could someone provide some more fleshed out steps for this ROM as well?
I assume I need to:
1. root the leak, probably with blackthundr's method
2. install Clockwork recovery mod (can I use Acer recovery from Google market instead?)
3. boot into recovery and install the rom (factory reset and cache wipes etc, etc)
Am I missing anything? The waters are so muddied for the casual enthusiast with the various leaks and bootloaders and the sudden influx in roms.
Thanks for your work and your patience,

Okay, as I am pretty new to this device as well and I was facing the same situation as you were in, I'll share my experience in this matter:
I basically followed the instructions here to get the correct bootloader and cwm but instead using the package there I used the package from this post under section 1.1.
But I wasn't on the leak so getting my CPUID wasn't as easy as reading out the dmesg (but for you it should work out). I did the nandroid trick as discribed in this post by Euclid's Brother. The UID.txt was under /mnt/external_sd/clockworkmod/backup/2012-04-12.20.33.00/uid.txt. The text in that file I filled in Vache's site to generate my SBK.
Enjoy the reading
After that it was pretty easy. Just flash through cwm and don't forget to flash the gapps but you are used to that.
So does this mean we can get MIUI 4 easily!?
Thanks brother, awesome news for the Acer.Downloading now.
For a first release, this is amazing! Super fast and no bugs so far. All hw works as expected, including the camera. That's especially amazing for an "unofficial" build. Love the boot screen, btw. Can't wait for this to go into the CM9 sources. Definitely a great way to bring new life to the A500.

Strange errors in first post..
"Check out the ROM Feature list here." points to .png that contains only one word "Downloads"
Link in "Changelog" section goes to aokp.com (not aokp.co)
In "Downloads" section link is given as aokp.cp (not aokp.co)
"Donate to Jonathan Grigg" is not a link - just plain text
And both download links point to one file( seems to be a 3g version)
JonathanGrigg's link seems to be broken. Otherwise solved

Hi, does this support a dpi change option?
Yes, but you are very likely to get many FC's. You can try what works in build.prop
any difference to the b35 version up on aokp.co for our device?
im running it right now and its running pretty well but if this has some extra bells and whistles i will jump ship
btw does the option to hide the navbar work with this version? because on the b35 released by aokp the feature is broken (it worked fine on milestone5)
Which google apps download should we use?
Just want to make sure I get the right gapps for this ROM. Is it the one on AOKP site listed under the b35 release? Or do we use the one from the XDA thread for the M5 release?
EDIT: Filenames -
gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip (from the AOKP site under the B35 release?) or...
gs-gapps-v3.zip (from the XDA Galaxian Soup M5 thread?)
Thanks!

Just one more question - are the download links in the first post (for the wifi and 3g version) supposed to point to the same file? Just want to make sure I am not flashing the wrong ROM because of a hyperlink error!
Thanks
EDIT: Just flashed the b35 release with the Gapps mentioned in my post above (20120429), and I am stuck at the google logo with the spinning gears for about 5 minutes - I will give it another 5-10 minutes and try again. Did I just flash the 3G ROM on my wifi-only GTab 8.9?
That shouldnt get you into a bootloop... I'm not sure, did you wipe?

Yes - did factory reset, formatted /system and wiped dalvik cache.
Are the files supposed to be the same? They are different on the AOKP site.
---------- Post added at 03:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:36 PM ----------
Just tried again - same procedure, and I paid more attention during the flash. It did say in the text that appears during the flash that the ROM was for the 3G. Waiting for the boot to finish or hang now...
Of course it worked this time! Strange...
A bad flash. Happens . Note: There is NEVER a need to format /system, Roms are designed is such a way they just replace anything in their way.
Still having an issue where the stock browser just stops loading pages after a while. Closing the browser completely and re-opening seems to fix it.
Does anyone else have this?
Otherwise the ROM seems just about perfect.

Haven't noticed yet, but have only browsed to a few pages so far.
The issue I am having is with the Google Play Store - I was trying to download some of the apps I had already on my account, and I went to My Apps, then the "All" tab, and I was picking each app that I wanted to install on the left column, and then tapping the install button on the right. As I was doing this it was CONSTANTLY trying to flip back to Adobe Flash's entry, which is the very first one in my "Installed" tab. It is hard to explain. I might be able to take a video of it later to show what I am seeing.
Thanks
EDIT: Here is a video of what I am seeing:

I'm a bit confused. We now seem to have two or three separate threads about release 35 of ICS based on Galaxian Soup AOKP.
One is labelled:

The other is labelled:

The other is labelled:
[ROM][ICS 4.0.4][AOKP-Build 35]Galaxian-Soup - Official[GT-7310/7300][05.01.2012]
Is there a difference? Do we need so many?

The first one is the initial thread for Milestone 5 (aka build 34?). The second one appears to be the thread for build 32, then updated with info about build 35. And the last appears to be the "official" thread that was started specifically for build 35.
I agree - it is confusing.

Question: Why would I want to upgrade to JB from ICS? What are the advantages? I am running SLIM 4.2 and love it. I know JB is the latest and greatest but not sure why people are set on switching from an already great ICS ROM. Just curious as to the pluses.

"If the flash is too quick ( < 5 seconds or so), reflash base before flashing essentials." maybe reword that to the new way so people don't get confused? Of course that is assuming they do the proper reading

can i just flash another kernel and flash baked rom from there? i'm thinking of semaphore kernel.

wiped data, wiped cache, wiped dalvik, flashed the rom (captivate of course) but got this error:
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device")=="SGH-I897 || getprop("ro.build.product")=="SGH-I897"
any idea how to fix this?
edit: tried fixing permissions too but still no luck.

You might look into flashing a different kernel before flashing the ROM. I've had issues with a couple of the newest roms not flashing because they aren't compatible with the kernel or its partition layout. A different kernel may not help though because like you're considering I tried semaphore and it gave the same error.
When I ran into this error I ended up one-clicking back to kk4 flashed a cwm kernel and then was able to flash said ROMs without problem. But as soon as I flashed back to my favorite ROM (hellybean) I would get the errors again.
Additionally before I went back to kk4 I tried flashing cm10 which resulted in the same error.

Hey BAKED team, thanks for posting here. Hit me up on twitter if you're looking for some additional mods/tweaks for the Galaxy S Series. @Arisenhavok
Since someone else had already experienced the Status 7 error I was expecting it when I flashed this ROM because I was running a Devil Kernel. As expected when trying to flash with the Devil Kernel I got the error. So I flashed Semaphore and got the same error. I really don't have time at the moment to flash back to kk4. I'll let you guys know what I think of the ROM when I can get it flashed.
On a side note though... Could anyone possible link to or provide a flashable copy of the CM10 kernel? I have yet to locate one and I would like to try flashing it prior to install to see if it would work instead of going all the way back to kk4.
from devil kernel have problem but from kk4 works
rom is good, better then HB for me
sorry for my English

You don't have to flash back to kk4 for status 7 error. If you have time and patience then follow the steps:
1. Download 7zip and notepad++ on your comp. (Assuming you use Windows, not needed for linux).
2. Open .zip file in 7zip and go in Meta-inf/com/google/android/updater-script. Extract updater-script on desktop ( or anywhere you feel) and open file in Notepad++.
3. Delete lines which say assert and getprop or (ro.build.product), usually the 1st few lines.
4. Save the file and paste it back to the zip file and replace the previous updater-script.
5. Flash the rom now.
Status 7 error usually works out with this solution, if you still have problems post the updater-script file here most of the people or i can edit and reupload it here.

I haven't tried that on this ROM. But the last time I ran into this I actually did just that and it still kicked back errors. But when I get home tonight I'll see what I can make happen.

Starting with Alpha 11, we are now producing Gecko/Gaia recovery updates. The easiest way to apply them is to rely on an alternative recovery, like ClockworkMod Recovery, put the zip file on the device SD card, and then install it.
Before being able to apply updates in recovery mode, you should at least flash partitions with alpha 26, because of the GCC 4.8 switch.
Directions to flash partitions:
Code:
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase system
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
Erasing and flashing the userdata partition should be only done in last resort case when you are hitting issues.
Locales:
Those builds are multi-locales:
They includes all the localization work done by Mozilians that is officially available (present in Gaia and with a Mercurial Gaia-L10N repository).
All the keyboards that are part of Gaia are enabled, starting with alpha 20.
If you are willing to work on a new locale or keyboard, please head to Bugzilla.
Current Status:
Nearly all features should be working as expected. Here is a link for details: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Firefox_OS/Samsung_Nexus_S. Regressions may happens.
Please check and report issues on Bugzilla: make sure the bug is not already reported, and file a new one https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi. Please mark your bug as blocking "b2g-nexuss", so that it can be tracked in the Nexus S support meta-bug.

This is pretty much how it looks.

Yeah sorry. Turns out Formatting System is required. I will fix this in the next update so the flash-able .zip will do this automatically.
So now just follow the directions exactly and it will work.

I was working with desalesouche on CM11.0 and we had the same error. We had to change set_metadata to set_perm in the updater-script. Will try to do that now.
EDIT 2: I got it to install, but it gets stuck on Huawei logo. This is the updated updater-script file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qeqgg9nhliw9dk8/updater-script

Same thing with META-INF from U8800-51.
EDIT: I've read around and it seems that set_metadata error is caused by the recovery. We need a new recovery: Clock Work Mod version 6.0.4.3
