Upgrading to 2.3.4 from 1.83 GREY BLUR 2.0

Hey guys,
I have a really complex problem. Well its complex to me. I've been away and was up to date with root methods, Roms, attempts at the kernel. From about July 2011. Now I'm just back reunited with my Atrix but unable to upgrade. I don't have that much access to a PC, although I do have Tenfars bootloader. I could boot back to a previous ROM after backing up.
I'm wondering if its absolutely necessary to have a PC to get upgraded. I'm hoping I could just download the needed files and use system recovery tool.
Thanx in advance for the help

As you can see from my Junior Member status I'm pretty new to flashing. But I don't see why you couldn't just download the files on your phone and flash them. However, according to a quick google search the Android Browser is incapable of downloading zip files. This could be old information so if I was you I would try downloading the zip files on your phone and if you're able to do it then try flashing them. I think if you download Dolphin Browser you can downlaod zip files to your phone.
Again, I am a rookie so I'm only saying what I would do. I like to take risks and danger is my middle name (lame). If I bricked my Atrix I would just buy a new phone because I'm eligible for an upgrade. Good luck.
Well I guess my biggest question is that if I boot back to 1.83 unrooted from GREYBLUR 2.0 rooted using tenfars system recovery tool will the recovery tool still be installed? If it wont be then its going to be a headache cause I'll have to use SDK tools to push a version of the bootloader back on the phone. Also if the system recovery tool is still there I can install side loading too.

Maybe someone can tell me what the file is called, where it states which font to use? so i can take a nandroid backup, edit it back, and reflash it?
Thanks a lot in advance!
You tried /system/fonts/ ?

Guess you didn't do a backup.... If you got cwm and have a backup then use restore> advanced> system this should get you going again.
If not I don't think you have much choice but to re- install

[Q] Newly installed fonts don't work

I just got the Samsung S4 and have been trying to install new fonts without any success. they download and install but when I go to choose one no matter which one I choose it says that font is not available. They do show up in the settings but I just can'[t make one the font I want to use. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?
Questions go in Q&A

Yup, i installed fonts from the store and i get the same error. Anyone help?
Yeah, it's really strange too because all these fonts I downloaded show up and can be used in Handcent. I would love to remove them now and I have tried to uninstall them and they won't go away. My only alternative is to reset my phone and I can't do that at the moment because I rooted my phone last night and now I have to wait for a recovery to be devoloped to remove the root before I reset my phone. The phone is working, the root process went fine I just don't know enough about rooting to even had done that so I feel more comfortable going back to a non-rooted phone. I just wish they would hurry up ........
I remember reading something a few days ago on xda about this. Someone posted a reply saying that it might be the fonts havent been optimized for full HD.
Only the paid fonts from the play store work so far.

[Q] Help! Flipfont SCREWED up all my font. Can not return to stock.

So this is how it went down and I know where I went wrong.....
I downloaded FlipFont and I changed my phone. After using the font for only a few minutes I did not like the way it looked. This is where I messed up. I uninstalled FlipFont for I returned the font back to stock. I redownloaded FlipFont and try to return it to stock now my font looks like some kind of hieroglyphics when I use my apps. I have tried all kinds of different programs to return to stock. Almost have it all the way back to stock but the number's still look like a different font. I have attached to pictures. 1 picture showing my screwed up font and a second picture showing my mostly corrected font with numbers that still have a different font. Is there any way possible to fix this or am I just screwed? Even the stock settings font will not change these numbers. It doesn't matter what font I change it to the numbers always look like that. Thanks for any help.

Factory reset might help.
You will loose apps and whatnot.
Turn off device
Press volume up + home + power simultaneously until device boots in recovery.
Select factory reset and reboot.
*sigh*.... Yea I was trying to avoid that. If I do that, this will be the 2nd wipe in one week haha. Anyone else have a suggestion? I'm afraid to download a stock font file and manually Go into the font file and replace anything for fear of REALLY messing something up.

have you tried ifont? works really nice, it can install any font in ttf format, hope this will help you

Uninstalled Google Play, can't reinstall

deleted it because I didn't think i needed it, thought i was just deleting the play store itself
now i restore it and it crashes every 10 seconds, makes the phone totally unusable so i had to disable
no way to re-download it from the app store, it seems
and things like map and weather won't work, help would be awesome thanks!

no thanks i don't want to have to flash two full Operating systems, unless that's the only way and somehow i totally screwed myself here
in which case i'll be switching roms, but hopefully dont have to go back to stock first
now trying to flash back to stock and it physically won't work the exact same way i did it last time. Put phone in download, open odin, load a confirmed working stock md5 in the "PDA" section, it loads up, click "start" and it fails
what happened?

What firmware are you on and what are you trying to flash in Odin? The md5 file had to be the same firmware version as you're on or higher.

This is latest Google Play apk. Of course you already need the apps on phone to install ie APK Installer or as mentioned Root Explorer or equivalent--:good:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28338566/com.android.vending-4.9.13.apk
I don't know if you need other Google stuff on phone for this to work, which you may have deleted. So, I don't guarantee--md5 has been verified though--
Like Google Play Services--
