Miui bootloop after fontchange, please help. ((5$ on paypal reward)) - Xperia Arc General

PLEASE MOVE TO QUESTIONS IF THIS IS WRONG PLACED
Hi guys, this morning i changed font in theme manager on my arc, running official miui ics. It told me to restart to apply and i did, now my phone is stuck in bootloop, i tried reflashing, without help. I really dont wanna format if possible. Is there any way i can change the font back on my pc, or maybe revert what i've done?
Thanks a lot in advance!
(sent from my friends iPhone)

Maybe someone can tell me what the file is called, where it states which font to use? so i can take a nandroid backup, edit it back, and reflash it?
Thanks a lot in advance!

You tried /system/fonts/ ?

Guess you didn't do a backup.... If you got cwm and have a backup then use restore> advanced> system this should get you going again.
If not I don't think you have much choice but to re- install

How to get backed up data/apps back onto flashed Desire

Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong area or if it has been answered, i've tried searching and nothing specific to this shows up.
I've just flashed my radio and rom to Cyanogen nightly 08202010 and everything is going well and looks good but how can I get all my backed up data and apps from my card that I backed up prior to the flash?
I've went into recovery and it all seems there but I need a way of getting it onto the phone from the card without screwing anything up.
First time doing this as you can tell.
Thanks for any help in advance,
Paul.
What backup programme did you use?

Thanks for replying mate. Used an app called MyBackup from the market. It allowed me to backup data and apps to my SD.
I've since learned that nandroid is a very good system, I found that on the recovery screen after I'd flashed my rom.
Any help is well appreciated.

MD5 file error. give me some help?

ive been rooted for quite some time, and never have had trouble with pulling backups form clockwork recovery. last night i made a backup of my CM7.0.3 that i was using for a while to try out virtuous unity. today on my lunch break at work i attempted to load the backup and i was getting that error message.
i did a "superwipe for g2" right before i tried to recover.
then i attempted to recover my stock rom i have had for months an i got the same error message. any ideas? the only thing i could think of is a few days ago i cleared out a HUGE cache in my clockwork from my SD to clear up my card. could that be it? any help would be appreciated.
bump.
someone please give me some help! i would really appreciate it.
i attempted this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11768066&postcount=2965
but go no response and still had a md5 mismatch.
Had that issue before... The back up process didn't go right unfortunately. I would recommend you to download another Rom and transfer it to your SD card.

what do you mean by that?

Well it rarely happens. I remember when I got the same error and told somebody in XDA they told me that during the back up process clockwork didn't back it up correctly which leads you not being able to restore your back up. Had virtuous 2.2 back then, good thing was I had 2 back ups just in case so I was able to restore a later version of my back up.

Did you by any chance change the name of the folder of the backup? I once 'annotated' the default date-time format that Clockworkmod uses with something more meaningful to me, but found that it breaks the MD5 check.
I'm just asking on the off-chance because changing the folder name back to what it was when the backup was made will fix it, if that's the case.
Good luck.
Yeah I did, but I hadn't had any problems with renaming it with it before. I attempted to change it back to a default name and that didn't work. Is there anyway to try and recover my backup, or just my data?

I also had this problem before when switching between cyanogen and a Sense ROM. The way I fixed it was I downloaded, wiped and installed a fresh new cyanogen ROM. After it was installed I was able to restore my old backup from CWM.
ill have to give that a try. thankyou sir.

[Q] So, I did something dumb

So, I just flashed my phone with the [EC07]clean ROM from this thread and everything went fine. I was having a good time, and really enjoyed some of the stuff that we could not benefit from while running 2.1.
My brother has the same phone and asks if you can adjust the screen resolution (I don't know why he wants to, but I was looking around in ROM toolbox and it had had a setting for it so I foolishly decided to experiment. now twlauncher force quits on me on boot and I can't figure out how to restore my default settings.
I am sorry if this question has been asked previously, but does anyone know how to restore my screen resolution to default without wiping and reflashing?
I promise to be a good noob in the future and not mess with things unless I am sure I know how to clean up my own messes. Thanks in advance for any help.
I can't help you but this did make me laugh.

I believe there's a root app in the market that's allows u to set screen res/density not sure what its called though and before doing that u really should've made a nand but u can probably just reinstall the Rom without wiping anything and that'll restore any system changes u did

Yeah, I used an app like that, but without twlauncher I can't figure out how to launch an app to fix it.
I found my own answer, with just a little more searching. In this thread trailblazer indicates that the resolution is stored in the rom. I reflashed (which took like 5 minutes) and it's fixed. I hadn't really changed anything else, so I am back right where I was.

recover build.prop

Hi,
I got many times the message, in google play, that app xx is not for my device.
After googeling about this issue, I have found that there is the possibility to change this when I change some values in the build.prop.
I have change this values and after a reboot I stick to the yellow triangle boot menu.
I can change to recovery mode and I have CWM 5.5.0.4 there
Is there a possibility to change the values in the build.prop or must I flash over PC Odin to get the device back to normal working?
Many thanks for your help.
BR Al
i dont get what you mean ?
Do you want to edit the build.prop but are wondering how to get the original one back if it fails ?
Or have you already changed it ?
I have already changed it and rebooted.
Now I get stucked.
Oh I see, re flash the ROM that should suffice

is this the only way?
try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1099822&d=1338587068
Download it, remove the build.prop, copy the build.prop from your current ROM and place it into the zip.
Then flash it in CWM
well I flashed now the lq2 lp6 lpt stock :crying:, of course there is no root NOW, I will look into the other threads to get root back.
Thanks for your help.
btw. maybe anyone can help me to remove the google play restriction for the apps?
Thanks

What apps are you getting restrictions on? There are various different levels, including tablet and tegra.

Have you renamed or changed anything in the backup??
Try to restore advance....it may helps you.
 DON'T FORGET TO PRESS THANKS BUTTON IF I HAVE A BIT SUCCESS TO HELP YOU
No, advance restore won't help. Wipe data and cache then flash a custom rom rather than reverting to stock again.

No, it's unmountable data
I didn't say that you would download a firmware. I clearly said "FLASH A CUSTOM ROM".

Oh, sorry
Hmm, i must to flash a custom rom, then flash again into the Stock Rom ?
No! Don't do that! In my experience, flashing custom roms after something bad happens always saves my phone. Just do what you want sir.
