[Q] Newly installed fonts don't work - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I just got the Samsung S4 and have been trying to install new fonts without any success. they download and install but when I go to choose one no matter which one I choose it says that font is not available. They do show up in the settings but I just can'[t make one the font I want to use. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Questions go in Q&A

Yup, i installed fonts from the store and i get the same error. Anyone help?

Yeah, it's really strange too because all these fonts I downloaded show up and can be used in Handcent. I would love to remove them now and I have tried to uninstall them and they won't go away. My only alternative is to reset my phone and I can't do that at the moment because I rooted my phone last night and now I have to wait for a recovery to be devoloped to remove the root before I reset my phone. The phone is working, the root process went fine I just don't know enough about rooting to even had done that so I feel more comfortable going back to a non-rooted phone. I just wish they would hurry up ........

I remember reading something a few days ago on xda about this. Someone posted a reply saying that it might be the fonts havent been optimized for full HD.

Only the paid fonts from the play store work so far.

[Q] HELP! rooted. apps gone. 0bytes

OK.. so here is my story. i got my phone about a month ago. rooted it. worked great. last week my phone froze so i had to pull the battery, ive dont that before, but this time when i tuned it on it took me thru setup wizard. my apps were gone and i have 0 bytes. every time i turn it off and turn it back on i have to go through the set up wizard. i looked online for ways to go back to stock, but they require i download an app. but i cant because i have 0 bytes. please i just want this thing unrooted and back to normal. PLEASE HELP
Theres a thread in the development section that addresses this issue. Search 0.00. Fyi imo voodoo is not worth the drama, stock file system roms ftw, kk?

i cant get it to work i downloaded odin but am having problems with it
Odin will not fix your problem, rooting is not your problem. Look in the development section on this forum and run the voodoo uninstaller(automatic) boot into stock android recovery 2e, and wipe data/cache after you run voodoo uninstaller.

but what is voodoo??
i never installed voodoo
and in odin... icant locate the pda file or i just dont have it. when i find a link to install it brings up a blank page
This may be a dumb suggestion, but is it possible your SD card is loose in its socket?

[Q] So, I did something dumb

So, I just flashed my phone with the [EC07]clean ROM from this thread and everything went fine. I was having a good time, and really enjoyed some of the stuff that we could not benefit from while running 2.1.
My brother has the same phone and asks if you can adjust the screen resolution (I don't know why he wants to, but I was looking around in ROM toolbox and it had had a setting for it so I foolishly decided to experiment. now twlauncher force quits on me on boot and I can't figure out how to restore my default settings.
I am sorry if this question has been asked previously, but does anyone know how to restore my screen resolution to default without wiping and reflashing?
I promise to be a good noob in the future and not mess with things unless I am sure I know how to clean up my own messes. Thanks in advance for any help.
I can't help you but this did make me laugh.

I believe there's a root app in the market that's allows u to set screen res/density not sure what its called though and before doing that u really should've made a nand but u can probably just reinstall the Rom without wiping anything and that'll restore any system changes u did

Yeah, I used an app like that, but without twlauncher I can't figure out how to launch an app to fix it.
I found my own answer, with just a little more searching. In this thread trailblazer indicates that the resolution is stored in the rom. I reflashed (which took like 5 minutes) and it's fixed. I hadn't really changed anything else, so I am back right where I was.

Galaxy s plus constant restart

Hello, ive had my samsung galaxy s plus for little over 2 months and its been frequently restarting 2-3 times every week. it doesnt happen for a specific app. once it restarted when i plugged it into my usb to connect to my pc. other times its just during apps - games twitter etc.
i want to know if anyone has solution to this and if anyone has had similar issues. my phone isnt rooted by the way.
replies are much appreciated
Well. I don't think there is a real solution for this, flashing XXKPS will solve the problem 100%. You are probably running 2.3.3 right? If you are then FLASH!
(Flash ROM > Install Feamod Recovery > Do whatever you want)
2.2.3 = cheap ass battery life and contains several bugs
Here you go mate, have a read here and update your Rom to newer one or even a custom one.

is it really hard to flash 1 file and root , install titanium and back up the apps u want , then flash whatever new rom u want to flash, root again , install titanium, restore ur apps, and unroot.

Not sure if this will work, but try rebooting it. Why don't you want to install the update?
Let the battery drain until 15% then try to accept the update. it won't continue on low battery I think.. Or if youre rooted, backup one system for like email or something.. Back it up somewhere.. Then proceed, update will fail because you need all stock apps there.. Then put back the file after you reboot.. Update will be gone

You can't OP I've had this annoying thing for a week, got used to it, you're not taking LTE away from me Google, screw u
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
subxero123, I'm pretty sure the only reason you can't use LTE in 4.2.2 is the radio/modem. Install the update, then revert to an old radio.
I was going to to wait for LTE also, thats why I didnt want it. Also I'm rooted so it sounded like a hassle. been really lazy lately lol. Question though: If I get the OTA root keeper app, is all I have to do is go into the app and update through it? Will it wipe anything, and do I have to set up all my mods again. For example my launcher, custom icons, gestures, lightflow, etc.??? If its easy with that app I'll do it....
Did you make any sort of modifications?
If you didn't delete system apps or flash a custom kernel just flash the update.zip from here: http://android.clients.google.com/p...4.signed-occam-JDQ39-from-JOP40D.de8b8d10.zip. Thanks wrinklefree. More info at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145848
After that you can flash the 4.2.1 radio firmware and you're set

Need help with rooting GS4

So I'll go ahead and say that I'm a noob when it comes rooting. With that being said I've already rooted my gs4 using the micro sd method(I cant remember the exact name of the root method but it was through xda). I had read on the beginners guid e to rooting that I should read read and read some more before doing anything which is what I did. So I rooted it and everything went smoothly and I then I found out about the app Tasker. I downloaded it and I had to dowbload the Secure Settings plugin to use certain options. Now when ever I have Secure Settings downloaded on my phone I cant hold down the home key to bring up the list of current running applications without my UI crashing. It brings up the message 'Unfortunately, the system UI has stopped working.' After initially downloading Tasker, my phone worked fine but now it's slower and buggier then ever. I really want to know everything there is to know and be able to do with the gs4 so if anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it.
