It's been awhile since I posted to this forum. In that time I managed to FUBAR one of these things into a paperweight and CWM refused to cooperate.
Has anyone figured out a safe way to upgrade the U8800-51 to at least GBread? I need it for a couple of applications.
Thanks

Hi!
Thanks for this forum folks.
Ive rooted yesterday, when i got my phone. Now im thinking about trying a new rom.
Is it hard to install? Does pictures and apps disappear from my sd card?
Please give me some hints for this. Where i need to read, and how i do this.
I also read about ROM manager.

Does that mean you dont have to fix in the recovery mode etc....
Thanks
I'm also interested in this subject. I haven't rooted my phone yet and I'm wondering which rom (custom and official) is the best ??
I'm in the same boat, just got my legend a few days ago and will be rooting it soon. I have very little space on my device so I want something with sense but not all the extra garbage that comes bundled with it.
I'm loving the phone but since its my first android I need a little guidance
P. S. I got swift key beta and its effing amazing!

I have a problem people. I was all excited when gingerbread started surfacing on the internet thinking we nexus one owners would be the first to taste it "chuckles". I have my nexus one which i purchased with google for almost 11 months now. Obviously knowing all the endless possibilities of rooting I went along with it. I have a Frg83d on board naturally in my case I unrooted my phone thinking I will get my gingerbread update which Is not likely to happen anytime soon.I will wait for my favorite cyanogen to do something with it before I put it on my phone again.I am sick and tired looking for a way to root my device again.I just can't find a way to do so. I guess even the whole process of unlocking the boot loader is a headache.I used the one click rooting back the with "androot". can anyone give me a simple way please to root my phone once again and to get my freedom back!!!. sorry for my English I am not from the U.S but I am doing my best. Any help with the bootloader and and easy way to root frg83d ..please help this is killing me.

Hi there. I have my phone rooted and using the netarchy kerneland stock 2.3.3 rom and as of late my phone is prompting me to update to 2.3.4 (and i want to!). I have searched around but i am unable to find instructions as to what i should do in this situation other than know i need to go back to stock kernel.
Is there a way i can do this without wiping anything and loosing root.
Many kind regards for the help in advance

See the sticky at the top of the forums 2.3.4 OTA's and their variants. The answer is in the first post.
First off great forum, lots of good info on this site. I have been doing some searching today, but I have not found a clear answer to my question. I have an Atrix that came with Froyo, was immediately rooted, but later updated to Gingerbread through software updates. This obviously broke the root, but i have also begun to experience a lot of application crashes since the update. Nothing will stay open for more than 5 minutes without crashing. I would like to try to go back to an older OS, and i'm interested in trying the Alien ROM. What is the safest course to that destination. I have read that I need to flash back to stock before using the ROM, but i didn't find a definite answer on the safe way to do that. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
So you updated through the Ota? So your bootloader isn't unlocked

DO NOT DOWNGRADE! You will brick your phone.
You need to unlock your bootloader, install CWM recovery and then flash the Alien ROM to your phone.
Here's a thread with a great guide on everything
