I tried a few 2 months ago, and nothing was stable enough with good battery life, so I went back to cm7.2 which is rock solid.
I think it might be time to try again. I would love to try jb, but I rely on wifi calling, as I have no reception in my office. So which ics do you use as daily driver?

Well, I think Synthetic's SyNthetic_aospX 1.0.0-BR7 ROM is the best for ICS hands down. Everything works perfectly, battery life is amazing, and support is a keystroke away.

Any idea? Stability + good battery?
I was using Legendary before, awesome battery life while at 1400Mhz all the time. It was amazing.
Anyone know which kernel I should use now?
YMMV but this was my battery today with the newest samurai kernel tanto

This being covered time and time again in many different posts over many different threads almost warrants no answer but ill give you one and here it is
try them all flash one per day till you find one that works for you the way you like it everyone uses their phone differently so no matter what you will get different results than i do or the next person that post on this
It's really up to you, try them out and see what you like the best. I've tried all 3 kernels currently out right now and they all work pretty good. The two I usually stick with are shadow kernel and the samurai kernel. Shadow kernel is nice and makes everything feel real snappy. You can overclock to 1400 mHz and the battery life for me is good. The newest shadow, tanto, overclocks to 1500 mHz and works with voodoo control. Haven't gotten the chance to really test battery since it just came out but so far it runs pretty good. Just test both of them out, you can always flash over another kernel.

Also close to stock kernels like aprosamurai's. He likes to keep his stockish with a few tweaks and some new fixes. Just my opinion of what works best on my phone. Others like earthbound's are too tweaked for me but his is really fast and bleeding edge. Bbelos's are also good.

I'm using shadow now and have used apro's too and they both worked great. You need to experiment with them, and you're going to have to tweak to get better battery life. I had several trying to constantly run and none of them were things I use a lot so they had to go. If I wanted super battery life I would have bought a flip phone and not a micromini laptop, and I wouldn't have such a joyful device to tinker with.

Stock is always going to be the best for wanting nothing but the simplicity.
Put it like this when i buy a car, i put bigger tires on my car for grip, and better handling. But i know i will loose some gas mileage but not alot.
I'll put a turbo and some internals into my engine to gain in power but will loose gas.
But if we can put bigger tires and a bigger turbo but still have the same gas results as stock, Then why not do it?
We all benefit in one area and thats why custom kernels are there for those who want options that stock doesn't provide.
Stock= Base Model
Custom = Fully Loaded
Simple as that. So everyone should try different kernels and then reply not saying oh this is the best. But say IMO i prefer this over that simply because of these reasons. Everyone will want a specific kernel because one may like different things about the different kernels

If you want to keep close to stock: aprosamurai's.
If you want to live on the bleeding edge: earthbound's

I personally have been enjoying AOKP due to the incredible amount of *functional* customization options.
Just wanted to see what everyone is preferring nowadays!

That and there are themes for it =P... just messing but I prefer cm9 just because it seems to work smoother than aokp. I just didn't like aokp unstability and constant lock ups that I was experiencing. Nothing against it just wasn't my cup of tea.

I Run CM7 but gotta give it to CM9 more supported
AOKP has been preforming wonderfully for me. Battery life is a big thing and AOKP seems to have an edge on my phone anyways.
I do like the fact that CM9 is more supported, but I will definitely agree with kenny that AOKP battery life is excellent. I don't have my screen on for more than an hour a day usually, so with the combination of that and the ability to disable data (where I work I get no 3G, eats my battery up) has provided me with more than ample battery life.
I really need to get back into development. Things now are WAY different than before; it seems like there is more of an opportunity to work on a variety of projects, which I like.

None of these Kangs would be possible without the CM9 team so big thanks to them. With that said AOKP is CM9 +, everything CM9 is and more except the missing 4G in the pulldown. The 4G widget needs to be used or turning it on in settings.

Exactly. Once again, NOBODY can tell you what the best rom for you is. Everyone has their own wants/needs, and not to mention the same rom will not run the same on every single device. Try a few roms, and find one you like, simple as that.
I use the Miks rom and it run flawlessly
I've been running nitrous for awhile now. The dev is extremely good at taking requests and keeping everyone updated on his progress.
Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I tried nitrous but the battery life blew dogs. I'm in SOS 1.9 ics I love ics are there any other good ics roms out there.

Anything MIUI has been awesome for me...So customization & runs fast, everything works besides 4g but I cant get 4g in this area anyways...Plus the themes change up the look of your phone alot!! BTW Why is ICS Muiu running Mason kernel the best? Does GPS camera video ect work?? How do I get video or movies from my phone to work on my TV thru QQ player?

n00b-rom!?!
I am an OG Epic user, and the biggest (only?) complaint I had and have seen with our ICS ports is that the lack of battery life renders the phone unuseable. Is the same the case with the Evo? I see a lot of ICS roms and folks here seem to like it, but I've flashed the Evo's on my account with some roms lately that score unbelievable battery life so I'm hesitant to change.

Running great for me, too soon on battery. Just for the record, streaming via 3g/4g in a moving car is not the best way to test battery life, so many variables. Battery life on the nightlies has been great for me. 20+ hours regularly, with 2h+ on screen time is great in my opinion.

I know but that is my normal use if it doesn't hold up during normal use then it doesn't work for me. On CM7 I lose about 10-12% during the same commute.
I'm running stock everything, no fancy kernels. I do have the tweaks listed in a post somewhere here in the general section, and I run Juicedefender because I have it setup to turn off data and then check every 30 minutes for email updates etc.. other then that nothing else.
