[Q] T-mobile UK Omnia 7 update to pre-NoDo and NoDo

I have unlocked but T-Mobile UK branded Omnia 7. It is still on 7004 version, and Zune is still saying that my phone is up to date. I can't even update to 7008, not to mention No-Do update.
Does anyone else have same Omnia 7? Can you update your phone?

Yep, DT (T-mobile) should come in the next wave (tuesday, may 24th).

you can install chevron tool and debrand the phone. You will get the update notification immediately.

I just checked in zune and there is an update for my omnia (finally!). Tmobile UK branded.

same in germany with t-mobile D. Hopefully everything will go well, i have the defekt bootloader.
fyi the first update only installed the 7008 version but the second one was displayed immediately after that. Im still in the installation process, wish me luck

I have the defective bootloader so just did the resistor trick to get into download mode and applied the samsung patch. Not showing any available updates yet though. (I'm on 7390)

i have the defect bootloader as well and it went well, no problem with updating to 7392 and is got a new firmware and bootloader version as well. PERFECT!

After the official T-Mobile (Germany) Update i also have new firmware etc.

Radio: 2424.11.2.2 (i think equal to the one of the newest firmware release I8700XXKC1 XXKB2)
Bootloader: 5.2.1.4
I had the defect Bootloader 4.10.1.9 before but everything went without a problem! Glad i didnt force any update. things that last will be good in the end ^^
I noticed, that if i swipe accidentially on the "back" or "search" button when surfing or in games, they will not be activated. Only if i lift the finger. PERFECT!

Got the update from nodo to the may update today firmware update that fixed the bootloader

I also received 7008 update today, and 7392 right after that. Both installed without any problems, although I had bootloader that was not able to enter download mode. Now I have new bootloader 5.2.1.4. Is this one capable of entering download mode??

yes it is possible to enter the download mode now.
kudos to ms, tmobile and samsung, im really suprised after i expected the worst! Now the branded phones run even newer firmware than the unbranded.

what was your previous version??

I have flashed to KC1 and the only Difference i can spot is that the bootloader has a higher number..

Actually there is KC3 update from what I saw, check this link

it updates some parts of the system, SLDR1, SLDR2 and bootloader for sure, don't know about the rest.
//the SLDR and SLDR2 might have come as imageupdate, but the bootloader probably not. It is quite older update so I am not sure if it is still supposed to be new or not

Generic phones will always get updates first. When Samsung get the update from Microsoft and tailor it to the Omnia 7, after testing, it goes public on the generic phones and they also send it out to the netowork operators to then add their own branding and other stuff.

Only other thing i've noticed so far is that the keypad typing tone has changed. It no longer plays a sound for every key press.

in spain with a unbranded omnia 7 i not have the update available :-(

This update 'bricked' my phone as it won't start to the OS and only gets into recovery or download mode. When trying to do a backup reinstall with zune (it automatically recognizes the phone is in recovery mode and needs to be repaired) the process gets to 99% and then an error pops up. Also the windows phone update support tool doesn't recognize my phone being in recovery mode and the samsung support tool doesn't put the OS back into functioning. What should I do now ? Luckily I kept a recent backup but not being able to restore the backup sucks.

Has anyone other than Orange users got this update ?

Someone on the Windows Phone Blog saying they can't update it and get a repeated error code.
It really does seem to be luck of the draw as to whos updates ok and whos doesn't.
However I always clear as much space as possible on my device before i try to update. I try and have at least 4gb free with a decent charge in my battery and i plug straight into a back USB2 port and so far touch wood, it's been ok for me.

where/when did you get the firmware update? I havent seen any update notifications on my device yet. i updated my focus to Mango RTM as soon as it was available, my firmware still shows as 2103.11.3.3 also my radio software and Bootloader are different than yours also, Radio is 2103.11.3.3 and Bootloader is 5.3.1.6

Is yours 1.3 or 1.4 ???

When did you got update notice on Rogers?
I am using NoDo Focus on Rogers and it says No updates available...

Ditto on the 2103.10.10.1. I'm still stuck on this (rev 1.3 phone) and haven't been offerened any other updates. Is it possible to force a firmware upgrade as it seems like this firmware is also the reason that I am unable to InterOP Unlock.

Try this. I forced mine when mango came out officially. I thought I bookmarked the page but this is all I have saved. I know it's somewhere here on the forums.

I got the Samsung update on "mango day" I was already on the leaked RTM 7720 so I was stoked to be getting any update what so ever . Turns out that update is firmware and it brought me up to date and back on the update track . What it does is going to depend on what version you are running but if you have mango I can tell you what it did for me. First thing I noticed was the touch to focus on the camera it would focus b4 on touch but not in specific spots of the screen , The compass now works , diagnostics , hmmm I a sure there are alot more but just a few I noticed rite away.

dvp stuck in version 7003

My dvp is loaded with wp7 version 7003, and will not update any sugestions?

What is the source of said DVP? It is strange it came with 7003 in the first place. It is known that you will not be able to officially update from build 7003, since it was the one designed for prototype devices (e.g. Samsung Taylor) that were not supported.
You can try doing something like this, but I cannot guarantee that it will work in your case and it just might happen that you will brick your phone.

I received the phone from a friend who had a developer version, i tried the tool you recomended however it found no error on the device. I guess my only hope at this point is that someone finds a way to load android on the phone.

First off never use the walshed tool...it leads to problems. Second read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411300 and then you should be able to update.

i followed all the instructions how ever when i did the command for updatewp /list, i receive an error that "the installed version of the zunewmdu, does not match the installed version. I am currently looking for an older version of the zune sofware that i can install to see if that works.

I'm mainly interested in the firmware ver for the VP as it's the closest thing to a 'rom version' in WP7. But thanks for trying

Need Help Please ?

Does any body has a original mango rom as I am having problems with the flashed roms, My samsung focus restarts several time in a day after flashing roms, I had tried all roms uploaded here,
only AT&T original rom works which is stock , also I am not able to update to mango , it gives me error while updating error codes 80090002 and too many error codes.
I had tried different computers and tried several ways , but failed to update to mango.
My phone details are:

These are the original stock roms and they worked perfectly but i am not able to update ( getting errors like 80090002 , 8000FFF etc. ) after flashing these roms and without updating i cant use applications from market place.
I had already tried four different pc, tried with/without memory card, hard reset, uninstalling and reinstalling zune , deliting update folder contents and whatever i found on google.

When is it feezing?

Try this:
Flash the AT&T retail ROM from this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131022
After that you should be back on build 7004.
Then, try updating via Zune and it should get you up to build 7720 (Mango).
After you're in 7720, you should be able to push the individual updates from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1306415 via Cab Sender.
I've done it twice on my device and everything is running smoothly.

after flashing this AT&T rom I am not able to update from zune , its giving me error codes , i had tried 4 different pcs every time its giving error mostly 80090002, i am able to update to 7390 only.
