I have unlocked but T-Mobile UK branded Omnia 7. It is still on 7004 version, and Zune is still saying that my phone is up to date. I can't even update to 7008, not to mention No-Do update.
Does anyone else have same Omnia 7? Can you update your phone?
Thanks,

you can install chevron tool and debrand the phone. You will get the update notification immediately.
I just checked in zune and there is an update for my omnia (finally!). Tmobile UK branded.

fyi the first update only installed the 7008 version but the second one was displayed immediately after that. Im still in the installation process, wish me luck

Good luck!
I have the defective bootloader so just did the resistor trick to get into download mode and applied the samsung patch. Not showing any available updates yet though. (I'm on 7390)
i have the defect bootloader as well and it went well, no problem with updating to 7392 and is got a new firmware and bootloader version as well. PERFECT!
Orange UK, still on 7008
fyi, i posted this befor in another thread, perhaps this will help someone
---------
After the official T-Mobile (Germany) Update i also have new firmware etc.
OS: 7.0.7392.0
Firmware: 2424.11.2.3
Hardware: 3.15.0.4
Radio: 2424.11.2.2 (i think equal to the one of the newest firmware release I8700XXKC1 XXKB2)
Bootloader: 5.2.1.4
I had the defect Bootloader 4.10.1.9 before but everything went without a problem! Glad i didnt force any update. things that last will be good in the end ^^
I noticed, that if i swipe accidentially on the "back" or "search" button when surfing or in games, they will not be activated. Only if i lift the finger. PERFECT!
Got the update from nodo to the may update today firmware update that fixed the bootloader
OS Ver: 7.0.7392.0
Firmware: 2424.11.2.3
H/W : 3.15.0.4
Radio Software: 2424.11.2.2
Radio H/W: 0.0.0.800
Bootloader: 5.2.1.4
SOC Ver: 0.36.2.0
I also received 7008 update today, and 7392 right after that. Both installed without any problems, although I had bootloader that was not able to enter download mode. Now I have new bootloader 5.2.1.4. Is this one capable of entering download mode??
yes it is possible to enter the download mode now.
kudos to ms, tmobile and samsung, im really suprised after i expected the worst! Now the branded phones run even newer firmware than the unbranded.

Update it to what?
You mean you have version 7008 and what to update to NoDo? At the moment you can't - it hasn't been released yet.
If you mean you have 7004 and want to update to 7008, then this is available now. Try plugging your phone into your PC and check with Zune. If it's not available, then your carrier is holding the update back.
Your best option would then be to flash a carrier-free ROM. For which I have created a guide here

Trying to sort out why some have certain problems and others don't with the Focus. Does everyone with a focus and is pre February update have the exact same version numbers for the os, firmware, and hardware? Or asked another way, did Samsung change the firmware version along the way? Here are my specs.
Focus on AT&T
OS Version 7.0.7004.0
Firmware Number 2103.10.10.1
Hardware Number 3.1.0.7
Radio Software 2103.10.10.1
Radio Hardware 0.0.0.3
Bootloader 4.10.0.1
Chip SOC 0.36.2.0
thats what mine was.... i have one of the first ones the stores got..
Mine too
That's what mine says, bought it on December 27th, 2010.
Mine has the following
Focus on AT&T
OS Version 7.0.7004.0
Firmware Number 2103.10.11.2
Hardware Number 3.1.0.7
Radio Software 2103.10.11.2
Radio Hardware 0.0.0.3
Bootloader 4.11.0.9
Chip SOC 0.36.2.0
a little different... I bought mine January.
Edit Update:
3/29
After NoDo today, the numbers did not change...

I got mine in the first week and shows a firmware version older than yours. I wonder if the newer firmware is less buggy. My Bluetooth is terrible. How does yours work? If I can determine that newer firmware is actually slightly better, I will go and try to do a warranty exchange.
Sorry, but I haven't really used Bluetooth so I can't comment on that. What's the negative to just trying the exchange and see?
None really. Unless it gets worse. I'll give it a shot now that I know there are different versions of the firmware out there. Thanks!

Speaking from personal experience: The Pre-NoDo update (7008) seems to have included some kind of Bluetooth fixes. My phone can now auto-connect to my Toyota Prius' bluetooth handsfree unit without any problems at all. Before, it would periodically "forget" that it was paired with the car or else the car's auto-connect function would not be able to connect to the Focus.
Those problems are now gone and I'm really enjoying using the phone in the car for speakerphone purposes!
Mine is a bit different. I received notice of the February Update but it always timed out during the install so I have not updated yet.
Focus on Rogers (bought in December)
OS Version 7.0.7004.0
Firmware Number 2124.10.10.2
Hardware Number 3.1.0.7
Radio Software 2124.10.10.2
Radio Hardware 0.0.0.3
Bootloader 4.10.1.1
Chip SOC 0.36.2.0
Mine is the same as these after the pre-nodo and nodo update:
OS Version 7.0.7390.0
Firmware Number 2103.10.10.1
Hardware Number 3.1.0.7
Radio Software 2103.10.10.1
Radio Hardware 0.0.0.3
Bootloader 4.10.0.1
Chip SOC 0.36.2.0
I wonder if people using the work around to get the updates now will miss the firmware updates. I will be curious what a Focus looks like after an official ATT release.
I was the first person to get one on release day at my store. Same numbers after NoDo as everyone else.
Does anyone know if there are supposed to be firmware updates in the pre-nodo or nodo update for the Focus? What I get from this article (http://wpcentral.com/dell-venue-pro-getting-nodo-starting-today-separate-firmware-update-coming-later), is that MS updates don't have firmware updates. Seems that comes from the manufacture. Unless this is something just for the DVP. Thanks

Looks like this might be a good call. If this is true for ATT as well: http://wpcentral.com/samsung-focus-rogers-bell-getting-firmware-update. We should re-brand our phones back to ATT-US and when ATT releases the updates we should get the firmware update since its a separate update after NoDo. If the link is correct.
There's a guy on Rogers with a focus that said he got updated firmware when he did the Nodo update. It makes sense that OEMs would give any firmware updates to MS to be included in the official update. All Focus phones should get the same firmware regardless of carrier. I would guess that official or not, any NoDo update should include everything a specific phone needs minus any last minute tweeks by a carrier than is dragging their feet.

Same as mine and my Wife's. Got them in the first 2 weeks they came out.
I seen the firmware update inside the diagnostics menu about 2 months ago , I cant remember where it was , but it did say an update was available , I have the same 2103.10.10.1 (OS 7.0.7390.0) , I unbranded both of my focuses and got the updates !
I just wish I could remember where that was , it always happens when your looking for something else you stuble across something thats a game changer and you cant remember where it is!

Same here, just forced the update to NoDo. I was surprised as well that the Firmware, Radio Software and Bootloader did not change. Thought they would.
So as near as I can tell, those doing unofficial updates are not seeing a firmaware update. Those doing official updates may be getting a firmware update but the number of reports of this are so low that it's hard to say for sure. We do know that there are different firmware versions out there possibly from different production batches. I guess we'll have to wait and see when AT&T officially updates if there is a firmware update included. Also if anyone getting an official update on any carrier could post if they did or did not get a firmware update, that would be helpfull too. It would be great to know if the differences in firmware have any impact on some of the known issues. I haven't seen any posts that cover this. It would be hard to tell though as you wouldn't know if it's the OS update or the firmware that made the difference.
There is a new Firmware I8700XXKC1 XXKB2 available:
samfirmware.com/apps/blog/show/7124400-new-firmwares-omnia-7-and-galaxy-s-ii-
Password: samfirmware.com
No thanks I got Official Nodo
Though would be interested to see if there are any firmware updates.
The screen flickering and slow rotation fixes
thank you but if it's nodo rom nobody is interesting except people who have developer account (chevron don't work on nodo...)
You're right...if you want to unlock your phone (and don't have an official dev account) this ROM cannot be used. I do wonder if there is any difference when you use the I8700XENJK1 ROM and officially update to NoDo...or when you use this ROM directly (radio version? Other differences?). Anyone care to test this ?
Its not that Id be the first one to test it if i had a way to back up all my game saves...Right i dont even have my phone dev unlocked cause that hape of crap chevron wont even work.

You should feel lucky, you've been able to update the firmeware. Really, changing that CSC and PDA means that you are already at NODO and untill now there is no jailbreak for that. Besides there is a way to do with that CSC its just we don't want it yet, you know what I mean.
So this means firmware and radio is the same and only OS got updated?

No, its the other way around.
Lol this is just what the Omnia 7 needs... some more unknown firmware.
If your phone actually works i'd steer clear of flashing anything from Samsung... Maybe unfair but i'm smarting from having the dodgy bootloader.
I tried again and use this files:
Signed__Cetus_Europe_KB2_Phone.bin
Signed__Cetus_Europe_KC1_Eboot.eb0
Signed__Cetus_Europe_KC1_PDA.nb0
signed_CSC_Cetus_Europe_I8700DBTJK1.csc
Now PDA, Phone and CSC were updated:
PDA: I8700XXKC1
Phone: I8700XXKB2
CSC: I8700DBTJK1
What do the different parts do?
Eboot ist the bootloader.
What do the other 3 stand for?
If I flash to JK1 firmware, unlock with chevron and then update phone and eboot to KB2/KC1, will I have an unlocked NODO with latest firmware or only parts of the latest firmware?
Has anyone who flashed the new ROM noticed any differences yet?
EDIT:
Just read this on mobiletechworld:
- The capacitive buttons are now disabled if the screen is touched so that you can no longer accidentally exist an app/game while playing (this feature is also present in the latest Samsung Focus firmware).

I guess this will be in the PDA part.
Where did you get the last file? There are only three files in the zip. Oh i get it now
i just flashed my omnia :
the OS version after flashing is 7389 (i got 7392 before) , but as i connected it to zune, update notification showed up (post nodo, 7392, i am updating right now)
another difference i notice : different default lock screen picture.... yay ... less appealing tho..it is...a desert

I really hope samsung addressed the reception issues (silence during calls) and stutter during audio playback. It is strange this newer firmware was not included with NODO delivered by MSFT, after all the rollout began two months later.
so if i flash this

Signed__Cetus_Europe_KC1_Eboot.eb0

no, as far as i understand it, the CSC goes hand in hand with the .bin, so leave the csc out and you will only update bootloader/radio and OS will remain unchanged.

what was your previous version??
I have flashed to KC1 and the only Difference i can spot is that the bootloader has a higher number..
Actually there is KC3 update from what I saw, check this link
http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/...3G/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=support#
it updates some parts of the system, SLDR1, SLDR2 and bootloader for sure, don't know about the rest.
//the SLDR and SLDR2 might have come as imageupdate, but the bootloader probably not. It is quite older update so I am not sure if it is still supposed to be new or not
Generic phones will always get updates first. When Samsung get the update from Microsoft and tailor it to the Omnia 7, after testing, it goes public on the generic phones and they also send it out to the netowork operators to then add their own branding and other stuff.
Only other thing i've noticed so far is that the keypad typing tone has changed. It no longer plays a sound for every key press.
Hello,
in spain with a unbranded omnia 7 i not have the update available :-(
This update 'bricked' my phone as it won't start to the OS and only gets into recovery or download mode. When trying to do a backup reinstall with zune (it automatically recognizes the phone is in recovery mode and needs to be repaired) the process gets to 99% and then an error pops up. Also the windows phone update support tool doesn't recognize my phone being in recovery mode and the samsung support tool doesn't put the OS back into functioning. What should I do now ? Luckily I kept a recent backup but not being able to restore the backup sucks.

Has anyone other than Orange users got this update ?
Someone on the Windows Phone Blog saying they can't update it and get a repeated error code.
It really does seem to be luck of the draw as to whos updates ok and whos doesn't.
However I always clear as much space as possible on my device before i try to update. I try and have at least 4gb free with a decent charge in my battery and i plug straight into a back USB2 port and so far touch wood, it's been ok for me.
Does anyone know what the recent Samsung firmware update does?
Per the About screen:
OS version: 7.10.7720.68
Firmware revision number: 2103.11.8.1
Hardware revision number: 3.1.0.7
Radio software version: 2103.11.8.1
Radio hardware version: 0.0.0.3
Bootloader version: 5.8.0.2
Chip SOC version: 0.36.2.0
The update did not specify any bug fixes so I'm just curious what it does.
uh, os version.... that would be mango no?
Is this from AT&T?
where/when did you get the firmware update? I havent seen any update notifications on my device yet. i updated my focus to Mango RTM as soon as it was available, my firmware still shows as 2103.11.3.3 also my radio software and Bootloader are different than yours also, Radio is 2103.11.3.3 and Bootloader is 5.3.1.6
Is yours 1.3 or 1.4 ???
Rogers already got 2124.10.12.2

Ditto on the 2103.10.10.1. I'm still stuck on this (rev 1.3 phone) and haven't been offerened any other updates. Is it possible to force a firmware upgrade as it seems like this firmware is also the reason that I am unable to InterOP Unlock.
Try this. I forced mine when mango came out officially. I thought I bookmarked the page but this is all I have saved. I know it's somewhere here on the forums.

I got the Samsung update on "mango day" I was already on the leaked RTM 7720 so I was stoked to be getting any update what so ever . Turns out that update is firmware and it brought me up to date and back on the update track . What it does is going to depend on what version you are running but if you have mango I can tell you what it did for me. First thing I noticed was the touch to focus on the camera it would focus b4 on touch but not in specific spots of the screen , The compass now works , diagnostics , hmmm I a sure there are alot more but just a few I noticed rite away.
