Im always when i can im online to help and i never ignore a pm or a user....but it is time to learn which phone you have....
First of all we have the Huawei Ideos X5
This is the first generation of Ideos X5 phone that released on 2011, April!
It supports 2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 3G Network HSDPA 900 / 2100
And in his core it have CPU: Qualcomm MSM7230 800 MHz and GPU Adreno 205
This is the normal or non pro or simply X5 phone...you can find roms for this on the existing forum
Next.......
We have the Huawei Ideos X5 PRO
This is the second generation Ideos X5 that released on 2011, Q3
It supports 2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 3G Network HSDPA 900 / 2100
And in his core it have CPU Qualcomm MSM8255 1GHz and GPU Adreno 205
This is the Ideos X5PRO or U8800+ or U8800PRO...and you will find roms here
And in the goddamed end....
We have the Huawei Ideos X5-51 that released sometime on 2011
It supports 4G connectivity
And in its core it have CPU Qualcomm MSM 7230 800MHz and GPU Adreno 205
This is the Ideos X5-51 or Impulse or U8800-51....and for this phone you can use ONLY and PLEASE ONLY roms that are meant to be for -51
OR you will not have BT,WIFI and signal...so learn this damn think..and don't ask always and always why you don't have signal or wifi...and no we can't help you we the majority here don't have -51 model...thanks!!!
Also.....about ROMS now....
When we say that a rom needs to have as base 2.3 or 4.0 or 2.2 IT NEEDS to to be flashed above its base...
So...no you can't use as an example IcePika_V9 over 2.3 or you CANT use Kalo's rom over 2.2 and NO we can't make an ICS rom to be flashed over 2.3 if its make from official ICS rom...bronxitas managed to do this...but this is not the normal way!!
Read this thread the next time you ask a question!!
Thanks!!!

We can also mention that pro model has two releases: with synaptics or atmel touch module. This actualy gave different results using custom roms made by chineese or by eu users.... also might be other small hardware differences related to which release it was.
Sent from my best 4 the price smartphone - u8800pro
+2 diferent modems = 4
Sent from my ragelis
Aurora and Kalo works fine on u8800-51 (wifi, bt, 3g , etc) .
Oficial ics (or other any rom based on oficial ics) works fine on u8800-51 except for the wifi.

Hello everyone,
I would like to share my HTC Magic problem with you. Let me introduce my phone first. I'm typing everything which i presume is important in each step:
Model : HTC Magic
32A ENG S-OFF H
Hboot - 1.33.2005
CPLD-12
Radio 3.22.20.17
recovery: RAv1.2.1H
Firmware : 1.6
Baseband: 62.52S.20.18U- 3.22.20.17
Kernel: 2.6.29.6-cyanogenmod
Mod: 4.2.15.1
Build no: DRC92
Story:
I was going to buy a new phone and would like something different than usual phones. So i ordered this phone from my cousin in Hong Kong. He bought and sent this to me (i live in Turkiye).
First problem i faced was the 3G. Later i found out that (by approaching to HTC customer care with IMEI no) the phone is actually a Rogers and its a Canadian model (BTW I believe HTC Magic is the most complicated phone in the world with all the models, versions, brands and names). The 3G frequency is different than here (here we use 2100 but my phone supports 1800 i guess). So i cant use 3G in here and you can imagine how Edge can be painful. Basicly i can't use this phone with full features becoz of the lack of internet speed.
Other issues are with the firmwares. I would like to update it to the last one (as today it is Froyo i guess) which my phone supports. I am not good with technical stuff and linux for example but i read a lot in forums. Found a way to root the phone and the upgrade to 1.6 with a Cyanogenmod. But later i stucked. All these "kernels" , "xx versions" made me confused.
Here is what i really want to know:
Is there a way for this phone to work in 2100 frequency which i need to use 3G? It can be very risky, illegal, whatever. I want to try. I can't use the phone like this anyways. If yes, which way i should follow in what order?
Another question is how do i get the latest firmware of Android OS to my phone? Cyanogenmod looks cool but it also installs many apps that i don't like. There is a Cyanogen Wiki with with a good guide how to root, install stuff. Also many references to here. What i like is to have a simple, naked version of Android OS, then i believe i can add any apps i like from the market. I don't plan to do advanced stuff with the phone. What do i need in order to have them as i like?
Thank you for reading until here. I will really appreciate if someone can help me with this issue. Altough i learnt many stuff in past months about all these "android language" , i may also need a guide thru these processes. Like, from an advanced HTC Magic user.
Thanks a lot!
Hi,
Ok just to make it shorter:
Is there a way to change the HSPA band of HTC Magic by any chance?
My phone is supporting 850 and 1900. What i need is to work with 2100 HSPA band frequency.
Already rooted. Specs written in first post.
Thanks again.
Since you are already rooted and using a CyanogenMod 1.6 ROM, I would suggest you go to his Wiki for step by step instructions to upgrading your ROM to Eclair 2.1 or Froyo 2.2. which is what I'm using.

From everything I've read you cannot change the frequency of the phone.
@wjsturgis3
Yes i did it yesterday. Upgraded to 2.1 . It looks clear, i liked it. More important thing i wanted to learn is to change the frequency of 3G band (whatever it is called) to 2100 in order to use 3G in here.
and @freyder
Thank you for the answer. If only there was a way to do it Its like having an Aston Martin but drive it with a 60 kph speed limit.
I will look further tho. Problems always teach new things.
Edit: This discussion is already Active. Please see "[DISCUSSION] Desire Z with 800MHz = No upgrade to Android 3.0 (gingerbread) !?!?" for further Discussion. Thank You. ~TheRomMistress
Will the HZ be compatible with the next Android release? I remember reading minimum CPU speed needed is 1.0GHZ. Will the overclock be of any help towards this?
The 800 MHz processor in the DZ is faster than the 1 GHz processors of the previous generation (e.g. Nexus One).
So it seems highly unlikely to me that the DZ won't be able to handle it, and that the current 2.2 release would be the last one for a brand new phone.
Since Gingerbread (Android 2.3) is coming to the Nexus One in the coming week(s), expect it on the DesireZ eventually. When is the question rather than if.
huh...

hi, im spanish too, from Madrid, have you ever found any functional difference between the i9506 and the 05?
for example perfomance,speed...
im interesting in audio kernels principatly.

3 differences from what I see
1. CPU, 9506 has Snapdragon [email protected] Ghz, that definitely outruns the 9505's Snapdragon [email protected] Ghz, but in both case they are all over-performance for normal use...
2. GPU, same as point 1
3. 9506 has LTE-A (maximum 150 mbps) where 9505 only has LTE (100 mbps) , but it's kinda pointless as well, I would be very happy if I can get over 10 mbps if I am not right stand in the side of base station...
Besides, the LTE isn't fully deployed in Spain yet for all 4 operators, what is point for have LTE-A device where LTE isn't even mature yet?
About audio, I'm using Viper4android, this doesn't requires kernel
But you can have most part of ROM customization with Xposed module if you choose 9506 if you don't care about kernel and AOSP ROM
2. GPU, same as point 1

Yes, I know, my point is 9506's outrun the 9505's
I am really curious about it...
well, mainly because I am one of the stupid ones who bought a Redmi 2A while not living in China ... and the Redmi 2A (HM 2A) is a China only Phone.
It is bad enough that the phone gets sold in US, Europe and India, but in the end, most users are unable to use the Phone, as it only works with 2G connection.. 3G or 4G are mostly not possible to use due to Band Limitation.
So if you are not living in China, do not buy the Redmi 2A!
But anyhow.. how does it comes that there is really NO rom whatsoever for the Redmi 2A to find, noone in China interested enough? Why than the 'huge' custom Rom base with the Redmi 2? .... That really bothers me, as the Redmi2A seems to be a really nice Phone ... and also its selling numbers are not small
Kind Regards
Caylean

Basically,
Kernel sources available=Tons of ROMs
Kernel source depends on chipset variant
Redmi 2A uses different chipset(Leadcore L1860C) than the usual Redmi2(Quallcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916).
As many SD410 devices are available in the market with kernel sources relaesed,(and no devices simmilar to Redmi2A having kernel sources released) ketut.kumajaya managed to reverse engineer the kernel and build CM12.1 which was used by others.
Thread link-> http://forum.xda-developers.com/and.../how-to-convert-qualcomms-dtb-to-dts-t3221223
Yeah, i could kiss kumajaya .. either male or female, i don't care ^^
I am using a Nexus Experience Rom on my Redmi 2, properbly also just possible due to the unofficial kernel leak.
I always expected the 'damn' Leadcore CPU to be the reason noone ever made a custom Rom for it, but had no real 'proof' of it.
How much I would love to see the Kernel Source for Redmi 2 and with that also the Redmi 2A officially released. Latest then there would be properbly plenty of different Roms with even fewer Bugs (couldn't find one so far in my Nexus Rom)
It simply sucks that they didn't force stopped selling the Redmi 2A outside of China ... they properbly knew already before that this will cause lots of ppl to suffer from bying a Phone that is theoretical unusable in outside countries .. and after it was sold outside China, there should be at least a global rom, it couldn't be sooo hard to translate the default rom.. that alone would help a lot....
Well.. anyways I kind of gave up my hopes to see a kernel release and so I can properbly also give up hope that there will ever change anyhing regarding Redmi 2A...
Need to wait to get my USB Port on Redmi 2A fixed again and then I'll start deleting one after the other bloatware .. untill I really have as few Chinese Crap on Redmi 2A as possible...
Having in the end a List of Apps to uninstall without causing infinite reboot might help already... or finding proper exchanges for some apps in order to get rid of the chinese ones... But thats all i'll see when the USB Port is working for Computer connections too, and not only for charging if you get the USB plugged in in the right angle
it's very hard to develop device if didn't using mainstream SoC i think
If your Redmi2A is Quallcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916(cpu),you can try to use the ROM for wt88047,such as the lineage os(cm)

The Redmi2A is a Leadcore L1860C cpu. That seems to be one of the main reasons nobody does much with it, because these cpus are everything but mainstream.

But you need to know, this phone have 3 versions ,they have 3 different cpu.
thanks.
It's goodluck that i get the bestest version of Reimi2A.
Only the best version of Redmi2A have the Quallcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916.
hmm mine is also redmi2A, but i have no issues playing around with custom roms.
Just FYI, mine is 64-bit! Snapdragon 410 quad-core 1.2-GHz

Dear forum users, tell me how to flash this not up to the phone, I'm already tired, I can't find anything
Just wondering if it's possible to get Android Go working on the HTC Wildfire. I still have one lying around for use as a backup phone. I read that many Sony phones from 2012-13 are getting Go ported for them.
Hello, I think not really. HTC Wildfire had its premiere in 2010. It also has 384 MB RAM, CPU - Qualcomm MSM7225 and processor clock - 528 MHz with one core. Do you really think that it would be possible to make Android GO? I own one HTC Wildfire myself, but I sincerely doubt it.
