Galaxy Tab 8.9 Slow to Charge! - Galaxy Tab General

I have tried to use both a USB charger into my PC and to the wall and it takes a lifetime to charge my GT89, and it seems like it takes almost the same amount of time to discharge again! Is it possible I have something incorrectly configured? Seems like I am charging every couple of days at least.

you have mistaken this to be a Galaxy Tab "all models generic" forum.
This is a Galaxy Tab 7" Original forum.

Phone shuts itself down when charging

I have the AT&T version. 2 nights in a row I woke up in the morning and realized my phone was turned off, fully charged. I had a i717 (Note 1) and flashed the hell out of it through XDA since March 2012. Under 4.1.x and 4.2.x it happened to do that several times on my Note. So I started to worry that now I have the same issue with the S4. Once think I realized that is that I was using the same Samsung charger for my Note to charge my S4. I was also using a very long USB extension (USB 2.0 compliant). So I ended up using my S4 charger and its cable and problem went away.
At this point I realized I could have done more troubleshooting but don't have time. Just wanted to mention a few things. And frankly just a bunch of weird observations. We had a person using a long USB extension like mine at work and she started having PDF printing issues in Outlook. I know, random. We removed that extension and everything is fine. I used that same extension I used for my Note and my S4 to plug in the Toyota built-in inverter in the trunk of my FJ Cruiser so I could charge my Asus TF700 once and it refused to charge (I was using the Asus charger). If I bypassed the USB extension, everything is fine. So anyways, long story short and like I said without a real understanding on what exactly is happening behind the scenes, do yourself a favor and DO NOT cheap accessories or non-OEM accessories to charge your expensive device. I have done it for over 10 years and probably had less than 0.5% of issues, just like anybody else but sometimes things can happen. And it would be sad to fry your new expensive device with a $10 or less extension or cheap non-compliant eBay charger. My 2 cents.
By the way, I rooted the S4 and it doesn't have the latest AT&T OTA.

[Q] Kernel with modifiable charging Current? (much like in stweaks)

Hello everyone, i've been a lurker for over a year now, primarily at the note 2 forums.
I've recently sold my n-7100, and now i've got a Note 10.1 N-8000. It's great and all, though one gripe I have would be the --SLOW- charging of the thing. Sometimes it'd even drain while being used (akin of other former phone, the n-7000 and it's 0.7 amps charging.)
Cutting it short, i've been using Andreilux's fantastic Perseus kernel for the longest time, and one ingenious feature he included would be the ability to modify the charging rates. Based on my limited knowledge, samsung pretty much bottlenecks this for safety purposes, such as having that 100ma margin thingamajigger when it detects unstable currents, hence lowering the input current. His kernel had the ability to turn that off, and pretty much allow a full 2A to stream in while charging my (former) note 2. (not to mention a full 1.5a while charing on my usb3 port.)
I'm putting this up in the air for everybody else, for apparently development for the n-8000 (rom/kernelwise) isn't as lush as with the Note 2.
I hope this post of mine doesn't end up in the recesses of the forums, for I feel that this would be a very important feature for us owners of the wonderful Note 10.1.
Thank you.

Think usb3 is at best 900ma. How long does yours take to charge?. Neved been a problem for me. Longer is the best for the battery.
Takes around 5 hours+, i only gain around 2-3% per hour with the screen turned off. :x Battery monitor widget reports a fluctuation between +850~+90 mA. On my old note 2 I'd have no problem having a consistent 1.6+ amps, and Galaxy charging current (on my note 2) states that i'm running a full 2A, or rather my phone is sucking as much juice as it can to recharge without samsung's safety gates bottlenecking it. Now I know you folks care a lot about your devices and would say that it's bad and it'l decrease the battery's lifetime, etc. I've come to accept whatever risks there are.
I just really wish someone could pull off what Andreilux was able to do for my note 2, where I didn't have to go through the trouble of modifying my usb cable's pins/rummaging through "working" chargers that'l deliver its rated capacities and what not. Unticked the "Disable power margin", as well as this other option I can't remember what it was exactly, and bam, original charger+cable was delivering 2A without any hicks, chaging 3100mah in around...2 hours or less. And plugged in to my usb 3 slot, GCC reported 1.5A being delivered.
*aother note on my 10.1 n-8000
And often the battery would DRAIN even while it's being charged. A few reconnects of my usb cable and it delivers around +250ma worth of charing, which is SLOW. I'd be lucky if it sticks to 1000+.
So there. If the master himself (andreilux) is unable to provide one for our note 10.1, i'm pretty sure there are other brilliant minds with great capacity who'd be able to give this feature for us.
I've seen in other threads how they were discussing/showing the tweaks towards the charging current being done, like what's going on here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327873
Hell sign me up! Ive had my 10.1 since the day they came out and Im So SICK of the slow charging! I feel I should wake up to a 100% charged device if I remember to plug it in before I go to sleep! my Note2 charges about 1.5 hrs, My tablet, who knows Sometimes 5 hrs sometimes 10!

Problems with Charging With Marshmallow Update

I have had the phone for a few days now. I have tried 3 different charging bricks as well as a new Samsung charging cable. No matter what I do, I only get "charing USB" and using the ampere app, it never hits about 4volts on charging and says "normal" as charging state. I'm using a galaxy s6 fast charger and tried 2 cables and 3 bricks and still just "normal" mode. Any help pls?

Can you please confine your charging related questions to a single thread? I would like to answer then but keep finding new threads???

Well I'm sorry. I wanted to make it more precise. I'm sorry

Battery drain and long charges, please help!

So, I recently changed the battery on my N7 (Pure Nexus ROM 6.0.1 with ParrotMod) and started to notice that battery only lasts about 3 to 5 hours, and around 2 and a half with video playback.
Also, a charge from 10% to 100% takes around 12 hours to complete and charges very little or nothing at all when the tablet is powered off.
I thought that the charger was causing the problem (I was using a Galaxy S4 mini charger) but even with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge charger (which supposedly has the same input and output as the N7 one's) I got the same results. I also read that the charging port might be misplaced, but that didn't seem to be the case either...
What's happening? HELP!
It 's probably a wrong charger. Use 10w (5v 2amp) one. Generic one can be bought at eBay for around $3. I have same setup on N7 - PN with Parrot Mod, full charge 2-3 hrs at the most

First off, use a genuine charger that comes with the device. If problem still persists, it could be the defective charging port that caused the problem. Try changing one by yourself or by having it replaced.
I have had the same problem. I bought my nexus second hand...and the guy said that the battery was broke but it run... So I have checked everything I have installed several roms and bought another battery but same problem... Then I have checked the USB and on the connection to the flat cable is a black thing to attemp the cable to the USB thing. So I closed the thing and it runs. Now battery loads fast again. Maybe the guy before me replaced the USB and missed to check the flatcable connection...

Samsung Galaxy Tab A battery does not seem to be charging

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8inch SM-T350 NZAAXAC
As the title said, the battery does not seem to be charging.
It was at 63% about an hour ago, and now it is 61%.
Any suggestion ?
It was just a faulty adaptor.
The tablet is charging fine.
