How to root Samsung Galaxy Y(GT-S5360) using Multi Root installer step by step?
Is this a correct guideline from other link that i cant post?
Step 1: Without extracting, copy all zip files to the internal SD card.
Step 2: Open the Multi Root Installer folder you copied in step 1. Highlight the appropriate kernel zip file based on your phone's stock firmware and hit select button.
Step 3: Read and accept the software licence agreement for Multi Root Installer by clicking Next. Tap Next again on the changelog screen.
Step 4: Select the application (app) or function you want to install among SuperUser, SuperSU and Unroot options. For instance, select SuperUser to install Root access on your device. Then, click Next.
Step 5: Click Next again to start installing the chosen app. Once installing or removing the Root app (Unroot) is completed, click Next to continue.
Step 6: Now, you have successfully installed the Root app. Click Reboot to restart the device and allow the changes to affect your device.
Your device is now successfully booted with superuser or root access.
I still have some questions...
How to copy all zip files to the internal SD card?
How to install CWM?
May i still root even my phone memory and sd card is 167 MB/190 MB AND 1.59GB/1.84 GB?
May i uninstall CWM it after the i root my Samsung Galaxy Y?
After the all process it may damage my phone or it will be/shall be deleting my phone data?
I will be waiting for the reply!!!!
Dont complicate things, use only the tutorials from xda, since they are easy to do and are tested before.
You shouldve looked at the sticky thread of general section, they have a lot of guides like these : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26609075&postcount=3
Ok, for your rooting process, let me quote that part of the thread:
Follow this:
1. Download the zip files to your SD Card (not in any folder).
2. Switch off your phone.
3. Boot into recovery mode(Press Vol Up + Power Key + Home button together at the same time to boot in recovery mode).
4. Touch screen is disabled in recovery. Use Volume keys(UP/DOWN) for scrolling and home button to select the highlighted option.
5. Select Apply update for sdcard
6. Select update.zip (which you have downloaded).
7. Wait for it to show complete and then select reboot system.
8. Your device will be successfully rooted.
9. After booting, go to play store and update superuser app
10. Thats it, your device is now rooted with the latest binaries

This is a tutorial for people who have trouble rooting with z4root and get a half rooted phone after clicking 'permanent root' in the first place.
1. Download z4root from 4shared. (Latest version is 1.3 I believe?)
2. install the z4root apk.
3. Open z4root, make sure usb debugging is on. (Settings>applications>development>usb debugging)
4. Click the temporary root button.
5. Once the temporary root completes, click the permanent root button.
6. When the permanent root completes and says 'rebooting..', pull your battery and boot up the phone.
That's it. You're now rooted. Install clockworkmod recovery through Rom Manager from the market or download the recovery.img and zip it in a HERCIMG.zip and install it via hboot (which is my personal preference)
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA Premium App
The first time I used z4root I was really frustrated when it got stuck on the "rebooting" and it seemed to take several tries. The key is to open your app drawer after rooting. If you see Superuser, you're good.
Also, just want to point out that the HERCIMG.zip installing only works if you're S-OFF. In any case, if you're S-OFF you don't even have to go through the root process, anyway

Will this method work for all HTC Hero radios?
Does anyone know if this will work on an HTC Sprint Hero with a radio of 2.42.02.10.29 Mar/2010,16:02:39

Disclaimer
This may work on other versions - I can't see any reason why not - but the only ones it is confirmed working for is the i9023 and the i9020A running 2.3.6 and the Nexus S 4G running 2.3.7. If you use this to root other handsets then reply in the thread and I'll update this. This assumes you are starting with a completely stock Nexus S.
About
This works with Windows only by using DooMLoRD's excellent Easy Rooting Toolkit to root without deleting your data in under a minute.
Credits
This is a noob-friendly mashup of various tutorials and sources to provide you with root access on the stock Gingerbread ROM, and nothing else. Credits to DooMLoRD, for his amazing toolkit and kursk for the original i9023 tutorial that made me think Consider donating to DooMLoRD if you find this helpful.
Steps to Root your handset
Preparation
1)Update your Nexus S to 2.3.6 if it isn't already, getting the update file from here.
2)Rename the file you downloaded to "update.zip". Place it in the root of your SD card.
3)Reboot your phone into Recovery Mode by powering it off, then on again while holding the Vol + button.
4)Now you’ll see a triangle with exclamation mark, now repeatedly press Vol+ and power button to enter Recovery Mode.
5)Select "apply sdcard update.zip" and if necessary, follow on screen instructions to slect the update.zip file.
6)Reboot the device and you will be updated to 2.3.6

Connecting to your Computer
1)Download and install the Android SDK. This may not be necessary for the rooting process but is certainly handy for future hacking or mods that you will likely want to do once you've rooted.
2)Install the Nexus S drivers as detailed here.
3)Make sure USB debugging is still enabled on your device and you are ready to proceed to rooting.

Rooting your Nexus S
1)Download DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit here.
2)Extract the zip to your desktop.
3)Connect your phone by USB and confirm USB Debugging is still enabled.
4)Double click the runme.bat file located in DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit
5)Read the command prompt and press any key to root.
6)Your handset will be rooted and then reboot. The process should take around 1 minute.
7) Congratulations! You now have the stock ROM rooted and Superuser installed.

Further Steps
Now that your phone is rooted, you can use apps that require superuser access such as Root Explorer to modify system files.
You can install ROM Manager and use that to flash custom ROMs.
You may wish to unroot your device. This can be done as detailed by DooMLoRD here

Unlocking the boot-loader erases the phone. Hence the "Non-Destructive" part of the title.
Yes, this method does it in under a minute and doesn't wipe your phone, making it easier for people who are new to modding or just want an easy and quick root.

Is this considered the old fashion way of rooting the NS4G?

I'm getting a nexus s i9020T soon and was wondering if this root method might work for it? When it comes to computers I'm a complete idiot. If something does go wrong I'll be clueless how to fix it. The reason I want to root is to remove some apps I can't uninstall and also so I can do a full backup including app data. If this method is not suitable what is the best way to do it? A super easy one click method would be preferable. Thanks!
Yes! This Method Works! If you follow this step by step! It will Unlock the bootloader and give root access! I just rooted this morning ladies and gents!

Root 4.2
METHOD 1 (RECOMMENDED)

thanks to Gnurou
"So, I have finally updated my SHIELD rooting method to support Tegra Note 7 as well, so you guys don't need to install weird programs on your PCs:
https://github.com/linux-shield/shield-root
Rooting by itself is quite easy, you need to have adb and fastboot on your system then:
1) Enable USB debugging in the developer options and plug your TN7
2) Download https://github.com/linux-shield/shie...7.img?raw=true
3) In a shell, issue "adb reboot-bootloader"
4) In the same shell, go into the directory containing root_tn7.img and run "fastboot boot root_tn7.img".
Rooting will take ~15 seconds and the tablet will reboot. You should then have SuperSU installed and working.
Note that these are not exactly the instructions mentioned on the README file of my Github repository. That's because TN7's bootloader is not interactive as SHIELD's for the moment, I hope this will be fixed.". All thanks to Gnurou
4.2 Chinese root method
METHOD 2
______________________________________________________
Ok so for starters the tegra note does come with an unlocked boot loader so that a big plus. To root I followed these steps..
"There is another method to root the tegra note easily if you know chinese......
You may download the software called Jin Shan Mobile Assistant at the site below:
google it --> (zs.ijinshan.com)
EDIT: HERE IS A DIRECT LINK TO DOWNLOAD THE ROOT TOOL
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2Sc2UBbSHchb1pBUGpPN2N1Sm8/edit?usp=sharing
click and download the PC ver. setup file at right handside.(wrote 支持设备:安装win8/Win7/Vista/XP系统)
After installation, plug in your tegra note via USB. Press the ROOT大師 at the bottom left corner.
It will checked your device model as P1640. Then press "確定". It will simply root your device immediately.
:good::good::good:"
Thanks to hotsuma2000
Once I was rooted using the method above I installed Supersu from market and it replaced the superuser from the above method.. I then removed all apps that were installed from using the Chinese root.
STEPS
__________________________________________
The .exe file to download is about 30mb.
Once you download the file run it using Windows.
Open the program after installation.
Make sure USB debugging is checked on your device. (FYI to get developer options go to settings about tablet and press on build number until a message pops up saying you have Dev options.)
Plug the tegra note into your PC and the program should then recognize your device at which point you will see the root option.
Click root and magic...
The root program will install it's own version of superuser but don't worry I will get to that.
Once rooted go to Google play and download Supersu by chain fire then open it. You should then be prompted to install.. It will say another superuser app is detected and ask to replace..
There you have it feel free to ask away anything on your mind
If I was a help to anybody please throw me a thanks

Where's the info? Please post the solution you found. I've been digging through forum after forum and have tried 3 or 4 "one-click" root tools. So far nothing has worked. I really want to use Titanium Backup on this device.
UPDATE I finally got root on my Tegra NOTE 7!!! The process was a bit haphazard and inept but after enough tinkering I was able to get it done! Since the method is a bit involved I would recommend waiting for an easier solution. Install TWRP recovery in Odin and use the automated EFS backup system. You don't need root for this, but it will inject root for you if you need it just before you click Reboot System..
im not sure where to post this but ill post it here you can move it if its wrong but i need help im new to the rooting thing this is my first time having android and switched over from apple and i jailbroke my iphones and loved it so id like to do the same for my galaxy s5 i tried to flash something using odin on it and it softbricked (i think thats what its called) my phone and it got stuck in a boot logo i wound up not being able to find the original software to flash back onto my phone so i had to take it into a bestbuy and get it fixed with a samsung rep but id rather not so basically im asking someone to help walk me through how to root my phone its got lollipop (5.0) on it ive tried looking up guides and stuff and i get lost with the technical terms and everything else i need an idiots guide lol please and thank you in advance ^_^ its a sm-g900v

In order to Root a phone, you should be unrooted.
Don't be afraid of the technical terms. If you've jailbroken iPoops, then you should be able to Root an Android no problem!
FOLLOW THIS THREAD STEP BY STEP.....AND THIS THREAD HERE. If you have a question about a specific step, feel free to ask. Between the two threads, you should be able to figure it out.

I find these instructions a little easier to follow. Skip down to the notes #4 for unrooted phones. The one step left off is you need busybox installed on your phone before safestrap will install. Search for it on play store. Like was mentioned, ask questions if you get stuck.

I looked at that thread and went to download the number 4 step but on the download page it said the uploaded name and that the download was for the galaxy s4 is it still okay?
Also is there anyway I download the original stock OS that way if something goes wrong I just flash it back into my phone?

That file is good, just mis-named. Here is a listing of all stock files.

Okay thanks and do I install busybox before I try to root my phone or afterwards?
Sent from my SM-G900V
After you use towelroot. Busybox won't install unless you have root.

Okay thanks what about safestrap? And what is that?
That is your custom recovery. Once installed hit "install recovery" and if everything was done right it will show recovery as being installed.

Okay and when do I install that? And that file I downloaded the one that I said is for the s4 do I just flash that whole thing onto it?

No. That file is the first step. It is installed via Odin.
Have you ever hooked your phone up to the PC before? In otherwards, have you installed the USB drivers yet? If not, your PC will not even recognize your phone. Download this to your computer and install it.

I just rooted mine today and it was challenging - several times I thought my phone was DONE. Luckily that wasn't the case.
Take a look at my post on this forum and follow all the way through, there are my steps in there and I can answer specific questions you may have...
