I don't know how many are using this phone and the rom's being made...
I only have this phone to October and I will not be doing a lot of work on camera. Coding the libs... I am not good at.
What I can do is port and tweak roms, and write scripts pretty well, and will answer as many questions or help as much as possible until I get new phone.
I am making this thread in hope that people will talk about camera, share files they used and start posting in threads. Several people pm me but posting is more help and lets people know you are working with them.

I edited media profiles to match our camera... I'd didn't fc but had metadata retrieval errors...
I lost the file but that file is the first step

I will also work on porting motoginger as we might have better luck porting froyo camera to it.

Ok so I posted this at another place but since someone mentioned it here it is:
Don't forget to change the build.prop file to reflect we are using the Bravo, not Defy. I have been doing this (although forgot to). Basically change MB525 to MB520 and Jordan to Kobe. That way everyone knows what we are using! (And I don't have to change it to 520 in the signature )
Btw since I mentioned the script, anyone else know of other changes to it we need to make?

Another to do is edit the framework.jar. you will have to backsmalli it then replace camera and some other files in hardware and media folders before recompile.

Hi Nexus S owners,
Here's a video tutorial that describes how to send files and apps using NFC, this is the most easy way to send files between phones, all you need to to is just simply tap twp phones together.
The app we used to do this job is an amazing one called File Expert ( https://market.android.com/details?id=xcxin.filexpert ) This is the first app on the market that supports transfer files using NFC.
For someone may ask how File Expert does this job. OK, let's under the hood, technically speaking, File Expert will use NFC to auto-configure a Bluetooth connection between phones. Because all configuration data is sent by NFC, so there's NO device searching and pairing process required!!
Please see video here:
Thank you

I know that feeling. I haven't seen one Nexus S ever besides mine.
Hell, I've never ever seen a Nexus One outside of the Internet.

I screwed my camera up earlier installing a mod meant for TW. Dumb move on my part. Even dumber was I didn't rename the old file first and just over wrote it.
Anyone have a link handy for the CM7 based camera.apk? Didn't expect to need my camera tonight, but now I do. No access to a pc so I have to do this by phone!
Blow job or high five to whoever helps me fix this real quick.

Does anyone have any recommendations OR have you installed a volume booster yet? I fond the volume very low. I've used volume + in the past, but I have a old apk..

I'm experiencing the same problem and hope someone has a helpful solution
I've noticed the volume on the Note 3 to be the same as on the 2, however the sound seems to be much better. Especially when using an external speaker via bluetooth.
Sound is better than sgs3 but it is a lot quieter. It badly needs an amp

Without custom recovery can we get boosted sound?
I am using V4A mod after rooting.

I was checking out the N3 at the mall today and pulled up the sample music file. I was surprised that I couldn't even hear it over the mall noise.

You sure can, Viper4Android.
this works pretty good, just extract the files in the system folder and place them in the corresponding folder on your phone with root explorer, change permissions then reboot.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469463
Are there any sound boosters that work on Samsung Note 3? All of the above mentioned are not compatible so far. Ringer is very quiet at max volume

Is this the default_gain file mod?
I couldn't find the stock file. It definitely worked on 4.1.2 touchwiz, but I can't see how it would work if there's no file to begin with.
Used to be in system/etc/ folder but for the life of me, can't find it now on 4.3

Where are u putting the files at??

Viper4Android allows you to customize headphone sound and phone speaker sound separately just like a few other equalizer/sound mod apps do. It's available in the Play Store and it works wonders. The sound I got out of my old phone (S3) and my current phone (Note 3) with V4A made a huge undeniable difference.
Link to download the .apk and install from Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vipercn.viper4android4x&hl=en
It has multiple types of volume boost functions along with a great equalizer and many other useful features.

When u unzip the file preferably in root expkorer there are two folders in the file go thru them one has 2 file in it one has 1 file in it. The one that has one in it is the one u need follow the folders name that that file was in and put it in the corresponding folder in system. I know it sounds confusing I will edit this in a few I was typing this and realized I deleted the zip after moving the file.
Edit....
Move this file to system>etc>(file)

I definitely know how/where to put the file....permissions...etc.
Just wanted to see if it actually made a difference since stock TW doesn't have this file anymore. If not having a stock file in place to begin with, adding a edited version would seem to be useless.
Just curious
Move this to system>etc>

Ahh ok. Didn't realize there was another file that controls this.
The one I remember was default_gain.conf or something like that. I used to manually edit that file to suit my needs.
Thanks for the info. Gonna try it now.
