I don't know how many are using this phone and the rom's being made...
I only have this phone to October and I will not be doing a lot of work on camera. Coding the libs... I am not good at.
What I can do is port and tweak roms, and write scripts pretty well, and will answer as many questions or help as much as possible until I get new phone.
I am making this thread in hope that people will talk about camera, share files they used and start posting in threads. Several people pm me but posting is more help and lets people know you are working with them.

I edited media profiles to match our camera... I'd didn't fc but had metadata retrieval errors...
I lost the file but that file is the first step

I will also work on porting motoginger as we might have better luck porting froyo camera to it.

Ok so I posted this at another place but since someone mentioned it here it is:
Don't forget to change the build.prop file to reflect we are using the Bravo, not Defy. I have been doing this (although forgot to). Basically change MB525 to MB520 and Jordan to Kobe. That way everyone knows what we are using! (And I don't have to change it to 520 in the signature )
Btw since I mentioned the script, anyone else know of other changes to it we need to make?

Another to do is edit the framework.jar. you will have to backsmalli it then replace camera and some other files in hardware and media folders before recompile.

This may be in the wrong area but it seems like this could be incorporated into more than just pics (maps, etc). Has anyone tried this? Im not a developer and have no idea what to do with this.
I'll pose a question though, could this be made into an apk for a quick install? If someone knows of a good tutorial for hardcore noobs I will definitely do it myself.
Just download the "Sony Ericsson Tutorial" app from the market for a demonstration
I did and its not the demo I after. I want it running in maps and for viewing pics.

As I understand it, everything runs from an initial source code. That code needs to be compiled using Android sdk?? And they mention eclipse, what is that?
Edit: and from what I read the source code for it is there

Oh I see
If it can be done - then excellent - I presume the app would need to hook all the screen presses and then emulate the zoom in\out buttons.
Unfortunately I am also like yourself, a newbie

I screwed my camera up earlier installing a mod meant for TW. Dumb move on my part. Even dumber was I didn't rename the old file first and just over wrote it.
Anyone have a link handy for the CM7 based camera.apk? Didn't expect to need my camera tonight, but now I do. No access to a pc so I have to do this by phone!
Blow job or high five to whoever helps me fix this real quick.

ok devs or people who know how to build apps.
i would like to become a dev by building apps but iv searched google and xda and i cant find the right answers so i wandered if anybody knows how to build an app for our x8.
if you could give me maybe a step step tutorial on how to build them? sorry if im asking to much but im keen
cheers.
That kind of thread would be pointless cuz there are many types of app eg. Pulse with a clock widget have an entirely different code. Some apps do some things, other apps do other things. It's impossible to have a general or global tutorial of how to make an app.

I've learnt java from tutorials on YouTube and with the right means (Eclipse, SDK and some other stuff) I was able to do it.

Easy way out:
Google App Inventor
AppsGeyser
AndroMo
Conduit Mobile
wix.com ( creates mobile sites)
I know more, but can't think of them.
And I guess you probably want the coding tutorial but I don't know either so.....
Leave a thanks if I helped!
I've been trying to find ROMs with the BT transfer of any file.
Is there some way to tell if a ROM does this?
I see Jelly Belly flat out says it's capable,
but can't tell if any others do or don't.
Appreciate any help.
cm10 does it like a champ.

RE
Thank you.
May I ask what part, or aspect, off cm10 makes this possible?
Has it something to do with CIFS? or NFS...?
Or maybe modifications to the Bluetooth.apk in the /system/ folder...?
Basically--
I'd like to narrow down what fixes/overrides the limitation.
And maybe even find a way to apply the "fix" on it's own.
Thanks for any guidance.
Not perfectly elegant but, just rename file as .pdf, transfer and rename.

Hi,
got a question:
Where can i find the source for the security pattern of my cm7.2 ?
A few friends of mine always try to find out my pattern of my security lock. After 5 try's you have to wait. but instead of waiting i wanted to open like a picture of something really diskusting ore something like that. So i thought i change the code a little. But my big problem is, that i never programmed for a android device before.
any help ?
greets Max
Ps: Sorry for the bad english :/
That's a bit too much help you're asking for there. Not easy modding system files, you need to know a lot about the internals of android, and I am not aware of any app that let's you do this

Thanks
Okey

Btw: i dont want a app to do this. want to do it by my self
Check out Google, there are hundreds of guides which will help you get started. Best of luck
