I screwed my camera up earlier installing a mod meant for TW. Dumb move on my part. Even dumber was I didn't rename the old file first and just over wrote it.
Anyone have a link handy for the CM7 based camera.apk? Didn't expect to need my camera tonight, but now I do. No access to a pc so I have to do this by phone!
Blow job or high five to whoever helps me fix this real quick.

you could re-flash the rom, I've never tried the camera hack so I'm not sure exactly what it entails or how to reverse it besides just starting over.
I'm new to flashing rom and stuff but does it erase all apps

Yes it would unless you back them up somehow.
Are you running a custom rom right now?
No stock rooted why?

I found this:
"Be careful in Service Mode that you know what it is your changing. If you hork up your phone you can reset it by doing a Factory data reset in Settings / Privacy / Factory data reset."
from here
but be careful, you'll need to reinstall your apps if you do that, but if you flashed the rom again you'd have to do that anyways.
Thanks ill probably try a new rom any recommendations preferably one with good battery

I've had great battery with Macnut R13.
I've actualy never had below 24 hours unplugged.
but fair warning: some people say the opposite so I may have just got lucky.
It seems to be about 50/50 have good battery life or dont lol
Also I hear great things about Team Whiskeys roms.
as well as Auxura (Although the guy developing the rom recently stopped development on it)
if you want to stay with 2.1 you might try team whiskey
or if you like 2.2 then any of the above would be great roms
everyone has their own opinion though so you might try a few before you find one you like alot.
Okay one more question... let's say I flash a rom right now... then flash another tomorrow... will the one I did the day before be completely erased when I flash a new one I've heard of people experiencing bugs and this happened ..

Generaly yes you should not have a problem.
but if you do run into trouble you can use odin to start clean, in fact alot of people prefer to use odin to get back to stock before flashing any rom.
but its up to you, I generaly only use odin if things start acting weird (which is next to never)
Wait... isn't Odin how you flash new roms?
Also can u link me to a good tutorial on flashing roms I'm trying to search it from my phone using xda app but its taking forever

At least this thread will serve as a solution to the next person has this issue. Loved the title of this thread, had to respond.
So how did you get the stock camera back? Mine keeps restarting my phone I want to restore it but there is no restore.txt
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Go to your files app.. then sgstools folder there should be a app called camera.apk
Get root explorer go to system > apps and delete camera.apk and the one under it is like camera.odex delete that too.
Now use root explorer to go to sgstools and move camera.API to system apps then go clear all data foe camera app reboot. Done.

Im missing my android id. Does anyone know how to get this back
Using dl09 with stupid fast, blackish storm, and every mod I like.
I figured it out. I had to go into rom manager and do a restore. Hopefully this will help someone in the future.

What exactly do you mean by Android ID?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Its a unique hardware/software generated key for your device, not unlike a MAC address.
Its a pita when you lose it. It wont let you do any online gaming. I dont know how I lost it in the first place. I was going thru roms playing with them and all the sudden it was gone.

I'm also having problems with Instacrap, specifically the hipster talent results. Every time I try to edit a photo it turns out looking like a polaroid or a hemorrhoid. I keep hearing iprone users say they deleted photoshop and turned their real cameras into lamps and ashtrays, but I must be missing something. Is the android version different? I've noticed better results when I ran out of toilet paper and had to use people magazine to wipe! Maybe I could write an app that smears poop on photos...
Anybody have trouble posting pics? Mines keep saying its too small and I know that's not the case because I have my resolution up to the highest.

I feel the same way...personally I can't see why everyone is getting all frothy over an app that makes pictures that look like they came from cameras that need to be thrown away.
Not only that but it's a 12MB install!

it isn't about the filters, there are several Android apps with much better filters and more variety. Instagram is about the built-in community.
I've been trying to find ROMs with the BT transfer of any file.
Is there some way to tell if a ROM does this?
I see Jelly Belly flat out says it's capable,
but can't tell if any others do or don't.
Appreciate any help.
cm10 does it like a champ.

RE
Thank you.
May I ask what part, or aspect, off cm10 makes this possible?
Has it something to do with CIFS? or NFS...?
Or maybe modifications to the Bluetooth.apk in the /system/ folder...?
Basically--
I'd like to narrow down what fixes/overrides the limitation.
And maybe even find a way to apply the "fix" on it's own.
Thanks for any guidance.
Not perfectly elegant but, just rename file as .pdf, transfer and rename.

Has anyone been able to get geotagging pictures working on EG04? Had it working on EC09, but not having any luck after updating. I have location turned on in settings, but still not getting it.
Sent from my SCH-I400 using xda app-developers app
I had to re-enable this feature within the apk itself, with decompiling and editing it... that's the only reason we had it for EC09... I started doing the same for the new camera for EG04, but they did a better job at removing the code for it, which makes it harder to add back in...
Sent from my SCH-I400 using xda premium
Well wasn't that nice of them... Lol
I was just working on pulling the EC09 Camera.apk and seeing if that would work. Downloaded another camera app from the market and its working, but I actually like the stock app. Thanks!
EC09 Camera.apk seems to work fine, with geotagging, just in case someone is interested.
