They can't even provide a decent speed on their crippled 3g service. I can't imagine 4g being much better.
New GT-I9305 Galaxy S3 LTE with Quad and 2gb ram is out in a couple weeks in australia and should be out not long after in europe. I have pre-ordered mine. I guess you can pre-order yours?. I saw a screenshot of one of the korean phones showing the available ram, it was showing 1.2Gb free ram.
Not everybodys got bags of money to buy a new galaxy s3 lte Samsung shafted us all with 1 gig
None of you were shafted... you all purchased a phone that had no LTE compatibility..... even if EE didn't run as a separate network but gave Orange the 4G bands your phone would still not be LTE capable.

EE have said on Twitter that T-Mobile customers (and I'm assuming Orange customers included) will definitely be able to upgrade mid-contract without cancellation fee.

yes but you will have to pay an 'early upgrade' fee that Orange has recently re-introduced, which is effectively your remaining monthly payments less VAT
It will only be availible in 4 cities to start with then 16 in total after that. Will take a year or two to hit rural places and so on. It is just marketing to say they have it first when in fact only few people will be able to get the benefit of it. In two years it will be in full flow and then we will have many phones that can use 4G and the networks will of optimised it.

That's not what they said on Twitter, someone asked if they could upgrade without a fee, and they said "definitely". The cancellation fee is practically the same as the early upgrade fee.

From past experience (have used Orange for over 10 years now and know their company workings very well) if they allow people to switch from EE without a fee there is bound to be some other catch (e.g. limiting you to a very high and long contact with EE), but I would still be amazed if they didn't demand an early upgrade fee.
Personally I won't even consider switching to EE until they announce prices and tariff conditions, I am especially concerned about what data limitations they will impose, there is absolutely no point joining a 4G network if they still limit us to 1GB or less!! a month data.

Well my current plan with T-Mobile allows truly unlimited data with fantastic 3G speeds. So I'd be happy to stay on 3G. However, if I could upgrade to LTE for free and the plans were fair enough with no harsh data limits, then I would upgrade.
All T-Mobile and Orange customers will begin to see the network names disappear from their phones and replaced with "EE" in the next few weeks (personally I think they could have come up with a better brand than EE)
My home fibre broadband contract ends with Plusnet next month too, so if the plans and prices are good then I may think about moving to EE fibre. However, plusnet have recently upgraded me to the up to 80mb broadband with 250GB monthly usage for just £20 a month, so if EE can't beat that I will be staying with Plusnet. I wonder if EE will be providing home phone

Same here (got it on the same day as well)! But I have the $30 unlimited smartphone plan from my old iPhone. Now the cost actually seems worth it since I am getting pretty decent H+ speeds.
I just hope Samsung keeps the updates coming for this phone. There seems to be a lot of interest since they got over 3 million preorders (http://www.electronista.com/articles/11/05/08/samsung.galaxy.s.ii.at.3m.pre.orders.by.may). I showed a few of my friends and they are going to get it when it comes out here in the US.
I'm still pulling the same H+ speeds I was getting on my 2GB smartphone plan. All the AT&T guys were like little kids looking at the phone. Had 6 employees gathered around.
Using it on Att still using my unlimited data for $15. Loving the phone so far, excellent speed data and phone performance.

Purchased for $756 from Clove UK.
Yip, getting H+ and loving it! Though in northern California (Bayarea), its a bit spotty, but loving it nonetheless. More so loving the non AT&T tainted or touched device. No issues so far, I wonder how the international updates are going to affect us.

I purchased though Handtec May 2nd via Google Checkout payment for $748 I believe. Had clearance/FCC paper that needed to be filled out with FeDex, but still received the device on the 5th of May. Happy with both Handtec (first time ordering with them), and FeDex considering the logistics involved.
I usually order my devices from negrielectronics.com, who have great service as well. No issues getting my Nexus S with NAM 3G band from them. Fast, and on time as well, Handtec just had the SGSII a week early.

Just order from handtec for the same cost with paypal. Awaiting for their shipping notice now.
@buddylee, I remember you when I purchase my X1, you always get the new phone so quickly.
I should be getting mine tomorrow, a day late, because they didn't have the FCC forms for customs clearance. I had to call FedEx like 5 times in order to get the form through haha. Ended up faxing it to someone, they called an hour or two later and said I would get it tomorrow.
My only concern is: What is the phone has defects? How will I have to do to return it?
Would I have to find an individual living in the UK to exchange it for a new one for me?
I'm coming from T-Mobile and their plague on humanity, the G2X. Truthfully, LG should stick to TVs but that's another story. I ordered my SGS2 from Cleverboxes and it's shipping tomorrow via NCS (whatever that means). My remorse period for the G2X is up on 5/19 so I'm getting an Inspire on 5/15 to establish service for the SGS2 on AT&T. I should be able to make a couple of hundred dollars selling a new Inspire on eBay to help offset some of the cost of the SGS2. The SIM will never have been used so the SGS2's IMEI will be what's registered with AT&T when I activate it (assuming their process is the same as T-Mobile's).
Part of what screwed up the G2X is all the T-Mobile crapware that's installed on what's supposed to be a vanilla Google phone. I'm glad to pay the extra money for an unbranded SGS2 just not to have to deal with carrier software, OS modifications, and dependency on them for updates. I also checked and the Samsung warranty is valid since it's a UK phone purchased in the UK. It can even be serviced in the U.S. under their global warranty program. That's something to consider for those of you buying overseas products and getting invoices from a company here in the U.S.
I can't wait for it to get here and be rid of T-Mobile and to have a high quality phone again. I was thinking of getting a Sensation on T-Mobile when it comes out 6/8 but the whole G2X debacle did me in.
I will never get a device from my carrier even with a discount. I am more happy with my device paying full price and without all the carrier bloatware and/or hardware removal!

This is the blueprint
1. Drop your text plan and switch over to google voice (optional)
2. Call up att and tell them you have a device you want to activate on your account with your sim. They will ask what phone it is, lie and say razr or some **** like that ... they will add it on for you then you will lose your smartphone data.
3. The rep will ask if you wish to optionally add the dataplan for non smartphones, you can add it then for $15 unlimited data.
I burn through about 15gb a month

Not sure if this is the same guy, but another insider says late July so it sounds right. Will they mutilate the front of the phone at all or will it have the same 3 button setup as the international version?

$350 w/contract with a mail in rebate. So Samsung's not only raised the retail prices they've raised the wholesale prices too. The battery should last about an hour and a half with Wi-Max.

Isn't it pretty typical for most carrier's new high end phones to say something around $350 or $300 and have an instant (supposed MIR) rebates bringing them to $200 or $250?
However I would think the AT&T version would show up first, as it went through FCC already. They probably held on to releasing it because of the Infuse, and didn't want the two devices to compete.
I guess it depends on the rebate. The yet-to-be launched EVO 3D on Sprint is $199 without the need for a rebate. So it seems the SGS2 will be Sprint's new flagship.

Is the Photon being delayed? How does that affect the SGS2?
A dev just found all the AT&T LTE settings in KG1. Their LTE network will be up in few weeks and they have no phone for it. I'm guessing because of AT&T's financial value to Samsung (vs. Sprint) no one will launch the SGS2 before AT&T. Sprint's got plenty of 4G phones and AT&T's got none (not counting fake-4G). There's typically a period of exclusivity ranging from 30-90 days which means other carriers would follow in the Fall. But someone else posted Samsung's going for a simultaneous launch on all three carriers (T-Mobile's screwed). Just some stuff to think about...

But does that mean the SGS2 will be out in July or in August for AT&T? I am so sick and tired of this lame iPhone.
AT&T announced they're launching their LTE network in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Atlanta and Chicago, this Summer. The phone's already passed through the FCC and now there's LTE code in the latest firmware. Knowing Samsung wants the phone deployed fast in the U.S. I'd be surprised if it was longer than 60 days from now. I'd bet we'll start hearing rumors and seeing sightings soon as AT&T is already testing their LTE network in Texas. All of this is still just a guess.
WDM I wonder if your source confused the Samsung Conquer 4G, that is being released on 7/24 with the Within. FWIW the Photon 4G isn't being delayed, it just passed through the FCC and will be out in a few weeks.

Switch, it's worth it. I just went from 66 kbps on Sprint here in NYC to 2 Mbps down mid-day on Straight Talk (AT&T) on my international Galaxy S III. And it's only $45 a month. It may not be real unlimited, but it's still much much better than Sprint's completely useless data speeds.
Also, off-contract the US ones are $649, so say $750 after tax. May as well go with the international ones from Amazon. If you want a penta-band one though, go with the T-Mobile one. It also has AT&T bands. The AT&T one only does AT&T bands. The cool thing with Straight Talk is if you choose AT&T compatible SIM it works in locked AT&T phones and if you chose T-Mobile compatible SIM it works in T-Mobile locked phones (both work in unlocked phones as well).

The only thing that sucks so far is the camera. Everything else is better. I still have S2 camera shots on my memory card and they have SO much more detail in them than S3 shots. I had an Epic 4G Touch (but I came from a Galaxy Nexus).

All time low for sealed and no tax or shipping.
yes. this is great deal.. It is also listed in deal2buy.com
Was thinking of replacing my Note with this, but am scared away by AT&T recently sweeping their system for people still on the $10 Media Net plan.
Still a very good price for a very good phone.

Oh yeah didn't think about that. This is a good seller. They have a website as well I think this is through 1saleaday they are slow on shipping can take 2 weeks to get your purchase sometimes but are a legit company and they do offer support through email and even the phone if you can ever get someone on the line.

This is the international quad core. No worries there it is unbranded non carrier phone.
Good price just an FYI T-Mobile and att&t version are only 549.99 in stores. They aren't happy about not getting commission but that's the price. Its listed on the websites too but they won't let you checkout Online without a plan. If warranty and ease of returns or exchange is an issue it might be worth $50. I'm in CA so I pay tax either way. Plus with T-Mobile I'd be stuck with edge at best for data. Until they refarm the network to allow 3g. Is the quad core with half the ram worth it? Anyone use both versions side by side on everyday tasks have any advice?

I spoke to 3 in Friday and found out a few useful things after much arguing with idiots who didn't know what they were talking about. Anyway I finally spoke to someone who did and asked some questions....
A few points.
1.The 3 network will be upgraded officially in early to mid 2015 to 4G. No extra data charges will apply for using it.
2. The Xperia Z will NOT receive 4.3. Don't ask me why, that's just what 3 said.
It's looking unlikely 3 will even release the 244 upgrade anytime soon, there is no date set.
3. Rooting/unlocking your bootloader invalidates your contract terms and conditions. Making you liable for the full handset cost up front if 3 catch you out.
And finally.... 3 will not be releasing the new Xperia X1. (I call bullspit on that one, they'd be missing out on sales)
Enjoy people.

Wtf is 3? And you can always use flashtool for 4.3 once it's out no matter what Carrier/bootloader Status.....

3 is a network here the in the UK. Their proper name is Hutchinson 3 UK.
We shouldn't have to use flash tool. 3 should get off their arses and release it. We still haven't had the 244 update as yet. I used flash tool to update and to be honest I can't stand flashtool.

I've never waited for carrier updates...mainly because they are pushing updates out way too slow and are bloated as ****..
I love it when people blame the manufacturers for delaying updates, when it's infact the carriers fault. Anyway, sucks for you and the others..try to get a new contract somewhere else.

I can't move to another network unfortunately as 3 are the only network that serve the area I live in. I live in the middle of nowhere. 3 aren't too bloated but yes slow as hell.

Wow sounds like you spoke to a male cow with diarrhoea!
3 is rolling out 4g from December in the major cities.
this from their Email they sent out to customers yesterday
Our new 4G (LTE) network roll-out will start in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
Customers with a 4G Ready device will get nudged up to 4G at no extra cost when it rolls out in their area.
The speeds you'll get will vary by location, coverage, demand and TrafficSence™, which is a system we use to manage data on our network to ensure the best experience possible for the majority of our customers. See how at Three.co.uk/network
http://www.three.co.uk/Discover/Built_for_internetting?site=d
Personally I'm looking forward to trying it out at work, as Wolverhampton is listed as one of the end of 2013 ones
although having said that I already get 12mb at home (in the countryside)
244 is already out, its' been out for weeks! you can upgrade through Sony Update easily
United Kingdom 3 UK 1270-6263 10.3.1.A.0.244 R6B 10.3.1.A.0.244 R6B
I have the ftf if you really can't do that, i got it through the sony update tool.
3 don't dictate when whether a manufacturer rolls out an update, they may approve it when asked to on their network, or even what customizations they want, but they don't turn around to an oem and say "you won't release an 4.3 upgrade"
their customer service people are useless...
I'm on 3 and really like the network, certainly not slow at all, but their CS is bad.
Another reason why you never get your contract direct from the Network carrier.
My Z was £3 cheaper than the same tariff from Three, not network locked, I got the Purple one, which was supposed to be an O2 exclusive, AND the SB20 headset
I thought it was common knowledge that the vast majority of customer service agents that work for electronic manufacturers and mobile phone networks don't know wtf they are talking about.
They only have answers to very basic questions and will often make stuff up to get you off the line when you ask them questions about things they haven't been briefed/trained on.
You're basically wasting your time calling them if you actually want an accurate response to anything but a basic non-technical enquiry.

I think what they are saying about the update not being released is referring to OTA. SEUS is a whole different story as is flashing. As a majority of customers won't be able to do it.
As for 3 being a decent network. Yes and no, their customer service is shocking. But their coverage isn't as bad as people say. I generally get Ok signal. Their prices are amazing too. I'm unlimited everything for 21 quid a month.

What are you paying a month? I pay £21 for unlimited everything. Done on the day of launch, I got a free dock and free tethering bolt on.

£27 a month isn't bad to be honest. That's what my contract price should have been.
I got lucky and grabbed the £21 a month when the HTC One S came out then upgraded to the Z on launch day. Technically I should have had an increase on my price but they didn't bother as I've been a customer for a while now.

If you do your maths of a contract price over 24 months is around £650
I bought my handset outright on the day it came out for £400 and I pay sim only 12month contract and get 4gb Internet /unlimited texts and 1000 mins and free to other talktalk members for £10pm which is only cheaper by £10 to this day but when I bought it i could only get the phone for about £40 per month and handset free
Best thing my phone is sim unlocked and bl unlockable and not tied into a 2 year contract

I agree, buying on contract works out more expensive, but we all don't have 400 quid to throw down in one go!

I admit buying outright is a better option but my financial incomings and outgoings, what with my girlfriend living some distance from me so using trains to see her, commuting to work and such, I don't have the cash to buy outright.
