FINAL JB RELEASED?! Look inside! - Galaxy S III General

Just found this:
http://www.trickytweaks.com/android...blg8-firmware-for-galaxy-i9300-available.html
Any ideas if its real?
The Korean Giant has Officially released the XXDLI5 Stable update with the new touch-viz Customization. Its the OTA Update and in Many countries it is also termed as the Download Android 4.0.4 I9300XXBLG8. Itwas the Most successful update of the Galaxy s3 i9300 Series. Many reported the Demerits of this official ROM. Demerit was the touch-viz interface, Galaxy s3 Users were expecting the new Integrated Touch-viz Interface. Keeping all this in Mind, Samsung Just released the Test Official Jelly-Bean Stable Firmware XXDLI2 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OTA, so as to test this. Samsung claimed that its Integrated with the new Touch-viz customizations.
This Update will only be available for the European Customers and will be the Part of the OTA update. So make to make this globally, you have to flash this ROM manually with the help of the ODIN. If you are not Rooted then No need to worry as this is the Official ROM, so you don’t need Rooting to Install this ROM.
Disclaimer Pop: All the tools, MOD’s or ROM’s described below belong to their respected owners/developers. We (trickytweaks.com) are just representing the method in a Pre-described and in a Better way so that you can Integrate this Update Method in your device easily. We are not forcing you to do this.

If they say has been released, as in out now it can't be real, my OTA on an unbranded UK phone says no update is available. Could be out this week though.

I doubt it's real (or correct anyway) - the whole story contradicts itself, like referring to Android 4.1.4 (which doesn't exist) and then mentioning 4.1.1 (correct). And I don't understand why they'd mention XXDLI5 which is the OTA we've just received on here, but suggest that it's also known as "Android 4.0.4 I9300XXBLG8"? Just smacks to me of someone suddenly reading something they think is "new", then misguided gathering of what they think is related news about it, and excitedly pushing the story out.

Known fake from yesterday

Samsung Just released the Test Official Jelly-Bean
TEST much as all the other leaks .
Quote.
Galaxy S i9300 XXDLI5 is a TEST firmware,
We already have a leaked LI5 Test OTA firmware so no this looks like false information as how can an official release be test firmware .
The originator has probably read XDA and repackaged .
jje

Look at the filename, it's called XXDLI5
The D means it's a development version, i.e. a leak.

We have 2 leaks left before the official firmware rolls out; 16 and 17. So that means we'll get it sometime this week. Also, not everyone will get it at once. You have to press update oh so many times for it to realize you're serious about upgrading. Those who really want it will get it first. At least that was the case for the Nexus Jellybean OTA. Users had press like 5 times for it to upgrade.

Seems Totally Fake .. Some kid just trying to grab attention .. even mentioning XXDLI6..

Again I think you may be right this is what I said in the other thread...
In Australia there are Pre-orders going on for the new Samsung Galaxy LTE QUAD +2 GB Ram and delivery Date set for the 20th September. Which I have Ordered the Titanium Grey 32GB unlocked version of someone I know . And On the specs it says Software - 4.1.1 JELLY BEAN.. I asked one of the customer service and they confirmed it will be shipped with the new 4.1.1 Jelly bean. So 100% the official will be out atleast 1week before the 20th which is approximately 12th September and apparently there is an event on the 12th.. sounds plausible

Official SGS2 2.3.4 firmware released by Samsung

I know everyone's had the leaked version of 2.3.4 for months now, but I just moved from an iPhone 4 to the SGS 2 yesterday and own a Mac, so when I saw this:
https://twitter.com/#!/SamFirmware/status/112527587259056128
I went ahead and updated the firmware, and viola! 2.3.4. Hopefully less of a battery drain too
If this is old news (although it was tweeted 3 hours ago), sorry for the redundancy.
Screenshots... we need screenshots!
if you're from Thailand, you're are set: THL = Thailand I9100TDCKH2
Samfirmware IS NOT Samsung and is in no way affiliated with Samsung. You should rename this thread (If you didn't get it from Kies, it wasn't released by Samsung). While this does seem to be a new leaked rom (as most on SamFirmware are) for the I9100T, other 2.3.4 roms have been out for nearly a month.
Sent from my GT-I9100M
KH2 is old leaked firmware .
jje
KH2 means nothing without the provider code in front of it. Hence there being 2.3.3 KG2's and 2.3.4 KG2's. It's all based on specific versions of roms monthly. UGKG2 means it's the second Bell Mobility build for August. KG1 would have been the first. However, if you look at ZSKG2, it's a completely different rom, it just means it was the second build in August for the ZS built phone. They are developed separately from each other an can not be considered the same like many on these forms have been misled to believe.
Sent from my GT-I9100M
I have GB 2.3.4 on my Galaxy R
I know it is not the same phone but it indicates that 2.3.4 is out.
I haven't done too much research on the different versions of Samsung galaxy s2's, so that's my bad. I was concentrating too much on just getting my hands on one lol. However, I did update it straight through the phone (like I said, I don't have a pc and I haven't been able to find Kies for Mac). Maybe the screenshot will help clear things up?
Oh and I forgot to mention, I'm in Florida. Although... I'm not exactly sure which country it came from.

Sent from my GT-I9100M
Yeah.. I.e. I had to create a samsung account and all that. The phone then turned off, went through a process to install it, and rebooted. The battery is better now I'd have to say, and the phone is as smooth as it was yesterday.
On a related note: This phone is AMAZING. More on that later.

Does the google talk have the video option after you updated?
The one you mentioned in the OP (which was tweeted by Samfirmware today)
is NOT Android 2.3.4 but 2.3.3!
It's a old firmware like someone already said:
-> Build Date: Mon Aug 8 21:53:26 KST 2011
-> Changelist: 449536
ATM there's no (leaked) 2.3.4 firmware newer than XXKH3...
Sucks that it says 2.3.4 if it isn't actually that... guess I'm gonna have to find a pc then. I want to get started on ROMs now anyways.

Just to clear this out:
The one you're actually running (according to your screenshot) is 2.3.4 for sure.
But the one (I9100TDCKH2/I9100TTHLKF1/I9100TDCKF1) tweeted by Samfirmware is not...
The I9100TDCKH2 is the last one who was 2.3.4, the Europe region is already 2.3.4 for month and they more likely to be 2.3.5 this month.
---------- Post added at 04:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:34 AM ----------
Oh and now it is oct now, but it still is 2.3.3, how disappointed ha?
iam from Saudi arabia, we still 2.3.3 . we are very diasppointed. samsung must do more attention to saudi market cause it is big market.

GT-N8010 Jelly Bean 4.1.1 finally landed!

Okay, so, I've been monitoring the sammobile website for quite some time now, waiting for the 4.1.1 release on the WiFi only model of our lovely note. And, I left it for a few days. To my surprise - IT'S OUT! It hit Germany, first. And now Taiwan. Link for the German build on sammobile is below.
If you have the official build installed yet - How are you enjoying your yummy Jelly Beans!?

Nope. The 8010 doesn't have telephony in it, so the official build has it all removed. And yeah, I realise this probably should have been in the general section. I'm a bit of a failure some times, haha.
[Ignore]
I haven't been round the forums for this yet, been clinging to my SGSIII, so apologies if I make myself look like an idiot, will 8010 ROMs work on the 8013? I've seen some devs posting for multiple models, so not positive.
Am I missing something?
Not sure if I've missed a trick here, but hasn't the German N8010 firmware been available since early December?
I'm still waiting for the official UK release via Kies...your post built up my hopes only to dash them as soon as read the thread...lol

Samsung released the latest Source Update 7 as fix for SDS

Although there isn't any proof to confirm that SDS has been fixed by newest Bootloader, however samsung has released the latest source Update 7 which was identified as the fix for Sudden death Syndrome. so this thread might be very helpful to be covered as long as your S3 still work. an UPDATE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED :

Sorry mate. You seemed to have been badly bashed by people in the other thread.

That's inaccurate. They changed bootloader when they started rolling out JB updates.
And it would be nice to know who the sources are. No need for exact name, just indication that the source is not xda and the XXELLA thread.
I understand nothing at all....then, why not Samsung massively launches the update to all regions/countries?
For now, in sammobile I can see that samsung is launching ELL5, ELL6 etc but no more ELLA for other countries...

All the information about the sudden death issue is sourced from dutch website "TWEAKERS.NET" with whom the samsung spokeswoman Anne ter Braak spoke. Samsung is aware of the manufacturing defect and are soon going to provide the firmware fix for this issue. But no timeframe was stated as of 2nd Jan 2013. Most of the websites have related this news with the recent update as the fix but is unconfirmed by Samsung.

The manufacturer says to Tweakers aware of the defect. "It's only a very limited number of Galaxy S III models with 16GB memory," said spokeswoman Anne ter Braak. The cause lies in Samsung in a firmware bug, which 'can be easily solved by a firmware update.
An exact schedule for the update is not available yet, but according to Ter Braak will be rolled out as soon as possible. The problem occurs for users according to both the software from Samsung itself as custom ROMs. If the problem occurs, the phone will not be activated. This often happens at night when not in use.
Ter Braak refers people who encounter the problem to a Samsung Repair Center. Previously it appeared that the motherboard is replaced under warranty. It's not the only problem that the South Korean manufacturer must repair: a previously found leak is still in the firmware. The leak that phones could be reset with a line html code is now closed."

Is this XXELLA fix sudden death issue?????
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium
It's definitely 3rd one. First one that came with ICS had no ! function and could be reset to zero permanently. Second one came with first 4.1 updates and it had the ! functionality, it couldn't be reset to 0 with custom recovery, but it could be downgraded . Now we have the third one that can't be downgraded and it has the ! and again no permanent reset to 0 with custom recovery.
So their statement is not correct, it could be the same bootloader as the previous JB releases, only that tz.img was added, but first bootloader change was definitely before this update.

The thing is I have never had a red ! until the LLA update, I think the one that came with the first JB update was included in the OTA package only so a lot of people might not have got it. I definately didn't, LLA is the only time I have been rooted with stock recovery, every other time it was with CWM and a flash counter of 9 I never saw the red ! until last night when I ran triangle away.
I think you are right. The FWs on sammobile for my carrier are all without sboot.bin files. I don't know about the others.

looks like exynosabuse fails to root, so this may be the first version that's been patched!
will investigate more.
EDIT:
curious
/dev/exynos-mem is still world rw
as its still set as system graphics 666 in ueventd.smd4x12.rc
so even though the dev is still left wide open, it appears whatever chainfire was doing with his root exploit doesn't work anymore.
and on further investigation it appears this kernel uses the same patch that samsung used for the S3, so there's quite a chunk of security patches in there

1. This is a 4.1.1 rom.
2. There actually was a N8013 leak a few days ago for region XAR, which is Canada & USA, or really any are using the 8013 model number. I think Darkman released a deodexed version of it maybe.
3. I just polled a few BM sites & saw that there are Nexus 10's testing JDP66 build of 4.2.2
4. I love my Note 10.1, but really am glad I received the Nexus 10 to see the latest incarnations of Android!

No more updates.

Yes its true... no more updates

Samsung provided Galaxy S II users 2 major Android updates (Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean), a device which was released in April of 2011 and initially shipped with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), and finally ended its support in May 2013 (25 Months).
Its now 100% that we will not get another update... but it’s time to accept the fact that the Galaxy S II – which is perhaps the best device Samsung ever made – is going to be stuck on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean forever.
So sad :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Have a look in the neatrom lite thread in the s2 android development section, it is fairly simple to install if you follow the instructions on the first page, make sure you do a backup beforehand.

I think devs should now eye the port from galaxy s2 plus. It was launched on 4.2 and might get update. So if the port can take place then I think we can still carry on with this beast for a year or so

I just installed the latest version of Jelly Bean for my device I9100XWMS1, for me this version is very very awesome, phone never hang, and never hot, also Battery last very long, and it fixed my Bluetooth and cam problem that i had in older version, i recommend it for everyone...
it support english and it's unbranded so it will work on any carrier.
i can't post link because i have less than 10 posts because i'm new,
if anyone want it, you can find it online or you can send me a message and i will give you the link..

I would not worry about it, in my opinion custom roms made by XDA devs are better than stock Samsung firmware...
