Hello Fellas ,
Before somedays the right side of my screen in the U8800 stopped working properly . In order to understand me what i mean i will give you an example . WHen i push on dialer "9" , "8" is selected , but if i tried like 10 times maybe i can succeed to push "9" . its like the screen is not calibrated or smth liek this but maybe is broken too . but i didnt had any accident with my phone , that think just showed up.I tried factory reset but it had no luck . Do you may know how i solve this?
thanks in advance
You could analyze what is happening on the screen by going to System settings > Developer options > Check "Pointer location", and possibly "Show touches".
Of course, this is on Aurora ICS and I do not know what ROM you are using at the moment.
If you are using some other ROM which does not have "developer options", you can go to the Play Store and download an application called "Screen Touch Test".

[What I said in another thread]
Check whether or not the area responds to touch. Breaking of the touch screen digitizer is a common problem in cheaper Android phones.
If it's broken, you have a couple of options:
1: Repair it
a) Via warranty
b) Do it yourself by searching "U8800 Touch Screen Digitizer" on Ebay. They are sold for around 20$.
2: Get a new phone
It would be helpful to know what ROM you are using.

Today I used my HD like always. When I picked it up and tried to unlock it, the screen did not react. It does not react to any kind of push on the touchscreen or on the 4 touch buttons. The device starts as it has always, but I can't do anything with it. In the last couple of days I have not installed any additional software, so that can't be it either.
Soft resetting does not work either.
The device is fully loaded, has updated original rom.
Can anyone help me
Try HardReset (VolUp+VolDown then 1click PowerOn, follow display): if this isn't usefull -> Customer Service
D'rath
PS: HR erases all
After the hard reset the screen goes to a message saying: tap screen to set up your device.
I still can't tap the screen so the hard reset ends there...
Is there someone who knows a solution, if not I will have to send it back to the factory or something.
i had that bother with mine, it turned out that it was the orange rom that was causing all the problems. I put in dutty's 3.4 and that solved it
My provider is T-mobile. This means no special rom is on my hd. Is it wise to put Dutty's rom on my hd, with the thought that i might want to sent it back to HTC? Can I after putting Dutty's rom on it and finding out it still does not work put another rom on there leaving no trace of dutty's rom?
If you still have the original rom on it, seems to me that the best option is to send it off under warranty.
+1 Anfloyd say true ^^
Better solution if under warranty

Most likely a fault with the digitizer. Happened to mine and quite a number of others. I had mine fail and had to get it repaired.
Than that is what I will do.
Thanks for the advice all!

I have same problem with my HD!
So what was cousing problem - software(ROM) or hardware?
And did waranty cover it?
I have this with most of the newer ROMs and with all W6.5 roms.
Try to flash to a version from around april of this year.
I have this problem also - luckily for me I live in Milton Keynes and the HTC repair centre is just round the corner from me. I have taken it there for repair under warranty. Will let you know what they say when I get it back....which hopefully will be today.
Hi guys ,
i have the same problem .
Touchscreen stopped to work. It was up but not possible to tap anything.
I think to change digitizer and then all the lcdscreen.
Is possibile to change only the digitizer ?

Hello My touch Screen dosent respons when i press on it. It just happend when i had it in my pocket ?? some ideas? But if i hafe to change the touch screen do you know about some links how to do it. How to opnen the phone
My HD has the same problem. You can try and call HTC in your country. I've been told that HD has 27 months of warranty from manufacture date. You may still be under warranty
Assume that you have already tried doing soft and hard reset, haven't you?

The problem with hard reset is that after reset you get into "phone setup" mode where you set up time, operator, align screen and so on. But 1st thing your phone asks you after hard reset is "Touch the screen to continue" Since it does not respond to taps, you get stuck

If you have tried a hard reset and the screen doesn't respond during initial setup (where it says: tap the screen to continue setting up your device) it very likely is the hardware! I would have no other explanation!
Just to be sure, you could try flashing a different ROM - but I'm very sceptical, that this would make any difference...
Also, don't you still have warrenty on the device?

Hmmm... good question... Maybe the serial could be enough - but I'm not too sure HTC will admit that! By the way: HTC shouldn't need any proof at all since the phone was released last year - so noone can have a Blackstone older than 12 months, right? But again: I don't think HTC will take care of it that easily...
This is a good place to start for finding out your warranty status.
Go through the process - your digitizer is very likely to be the fault, which is hardware and is replaceable. But why would you want to do this at your own expense if your device is still in warranty?
If you have HardSPL installed, you'll need to revert back to stock SPL and ROM, otherwise HTC will reject your device as these pieces of software voild your warranty.
Good luck.
Good Day,
Thought I would add my thoughts to this as currently going through same thing. I managed to get the ROMs and SPL back to Stock, even downloaded latest ROM from HTC.com to see if this would make a difference but screen still not completely not working but very intermittent.
Phoned HTC Support 1200 Monday, UPS were scanning and picking up package 1500 Tuesday, phoned today 1100 Thursday and they have received it but there were no updates on the repair status

How 2 unlock when there is no touch???
Me sum how the same! (Touch 3G T3238+ cloam)
The phone is locked & touch is not working @ all!
The "unlock" option is on the bottom L. but, there is no touch 2 tap it!! & I can't hard reset w/ any key combination.
Keys work 4 a new opened window e.g. I can answer a call w/ they keys but, they r inactive on homepage.
It's like a PC w/ neither a mouse nor a keyboard!!
When I want 2 install a ROM from SD, there is no touch to choose an option!!
Can any1 help plz??? Thank u.
Guy,
First of all sorry for my english.
I've got same problem 3 days ago. I found out that it's something wrong with the touch sceen. I ordered from local here in bangkok Thailand. it's cost about 700 baht or 20$ us.
I replaced it myseft it's not so difficult. After replace touch sceen module (digitizer). it's work perfectly again.
Dear funnyfriday,
Thanks a lot 4 ur reply.
Well, I was not sure if my touch was really damaged, mostly I though it was a software problem ......
@ last could unlock it by connecting it 2 the PC!!! Now it's unlock but seems that the touch has problem itself BUT mostly there is a software issue 2 as the keys sum times work & sum times don't!!
4 now I'll try 2 change the touch (the phone was bought from another country & in my country the phone & its accessories r not available!)
As soon as I could find any result & a matched ROM, I'll let every 1 know about it
Thanks 2 all.
hi - i had this problem too , HTC guaranty changed my touch completely , after a month i had this problem again and they changed the whole pannel again , now it works fine
Really!! Well, 4 me no guaranty access! I'll change the touch - if it was possible! - then I think I should w8 & c when it gets damaged again!!!
Hi xda-developers,
such problem is caused by an upnormal pressure that applyed on the screen (when set down on the phone while in your pocket), this pressure affect the two layers of the pnone degitizer to be twisted and contacted allways.
you can repaire this by repaire the degitizer as in the last section of this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noVnvDXWrj8
dont worry because it is not your phone, this is common tip and may applyed to any screen digitizer to release the contact between the layers.
another way is to replace the screen digitizer with a new one from HTC Care Center.
Hi, & thanks 4 ur reply.
I watched ur video. May b u can help me plz.
My phone is Touch 3G T3238+. The screen has no response on any part! only it makes sumthing like waves/halo around finger on touch; does this corresponds 2 any thing?? It got out of order just suddenly after a hard reset.
I went 4 heating but w/ a match!! not a lighter; mayb I did not heated it enough??
Do u know any other way plz?? Shall I heat it again?
Thank u so much
replace your digitizer my dear

is the desire hd brand new? if not i'd say thats a fault/feature someone's enabled to save battery or something! hope you get this sorted! it's not that useful if you cant lock your phone without losing signal!
This is not normal. My Desire HD never had such things, and no phones should.
Sort it out with the seller.
HTCs warranty statement covers damages even if you root your phone (at least in India).
Before going back to the store from which you bought the device, you might want to root and try a different ROM and see how that turns out for you.
If that works out for you, then you know that its not a hardware error, and you could maybe do something like flash a nandroid backup. On the other hand, if it doesn't work out, you really should go back and ask for a replacement.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for replying
i tried different radio ,
i tried different rom ,
and no luck

Hello, i have been bought two samsung galaxhy s5 900f after some time i have two problems one of the phones the screen touch dont works....and in the other one the screen start to be black and thats it. someone can help me please with this problem? thanks.

We'd need a lot more information to even begin to guess at what your issues are. Are you saying that both were working fine and without any obvious event e.g. dropping the phone, harsh handling, etc that they have failed?
Also the meaning of "the screen start to be black" is uncertain at best. Can you elaborate and describe that in more detail? Screenshots usually help as well. There is a built in hardware test on the S5 that you can access to help determine if the screen is responding to touch or not, screen brightness and so forth
*#0*#
If no apparent cause is apparent, you should back up any data you wish to save then try installing a full, stock firmware image (with the Odin software), followed by a factory data reset (from the Settings menu) to confirm that the issues are not a software issue.
