Best ROM for Desire HD? - Desire HD General

Hey guys,
I'm new to Androids and xda, but I've already rooted my DHD with the Blackout ICS Incredible v3.0.0, I was just wondering if there are any better/newer fully working roms. The blackout is ICS, but it doesnt look like it at all, even though it has the features, so I was wondering if there is any fully working ICS/jelly bean rom?
Thanks

There are tons in the development forums, and there's a sticky thread indexing most of the available ones. Just look there. ICS and JB.
What do you mean by "doesn't look like it?" I believe Blackout is a Sense ROM, so if you're looking for the pure Google ICS you need to choose a non-Sense ROM.
As someone who is just a little newer to this than you, I highly recommend that you search and read the forums extensively to find answers to your questions before posting in the future. That seems to be expected here.

There are no "Best ROMs". Your opinion on what is the best can vary wildly from someone else's opinion.
The best advice is to try them all and make you own informed decision.

Roms

Hello everyone Im looking to see if anyone has any suggestions on where to find a collections of the most and best roms out there for the INC. Thanks for the suggestions
This may seem simple but...
incredibleroms.com
I know there are so many out right now, it is difficult to index them.

Incredibleroms.com is a good source for some of the first ROMs created (Most of these are 2.1), however, if you want Froyo, the best place to go is our lovely XDA forum. There are several threads in the Development section dedicated to the different ROMs with updates, known bugs, so on and so forth. The two main Froyo ROMs are currently Cyanogenmod 6 (which is still pretty rough) and Sky Raider (Which has Sense). Read the whole thread before you install any of the ROMs so that you know what you're getting yourself into and happy flashing!

[Q] Which 2.1 (Sense) ROM?

Hi,
I understand by now that the 2.2 ROM of choice is FroydVillain... but as for the 2.1 ROMs, I'm a bit lost since there seems to be a gazillion of them around. Is there a general recommendation?

This has been answered tons of times and I will just make a quick resume:
It's personal! BTW it's not not necessarily FroydVillain that's best. You have to try them all out before you make a statement...
This question has been asked many times, and the answer is to look at what's available, check out the devs you have heard of, check out the ones you've not heard of...
Then take a look at what features are available and support available etc, or whatever matters to you.
It's a 100% personal choice, there's no best ROM. There is no "fastest" ROM, but some may be faster than others for different things.
As such, thread closed due to the likelihood this thread will go downhill the moment I turn my back. Search, look at the ROMs, and try a few out It's fun

Best Sense UI Build for HD2

I recently was looking around the forum and saw the same type of question in a Poll about what was the best NON Sense ROM for the HD2. There was some great comments in there and really helped me sort through some of the better ones to run. I wanna hear the same for Sense UI.
Question: What is the best Sense UI Build/Rom for the HD2? Preferably running FroYo of course. We love our Deserts.
I'd love to see everyone's thoughts or input as to what is best, most stable & most feature complete. Just whatever. Please post what's worked best for you.. Thanks!
i would say the most fastest cleanest and most stable clean froyo sense build would have to go to MDJ FroYo Sense Clean v. 2.3.
check it out here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780525
My favourite is mattc 1.8 w/ sense. It's a little older but with hastarin 8.2 without UVOC it works so smooth and stable.

I can answer you for the worst threads. I don't like these polls, all builds take a lot of time to make and deserve to be tested.
Mdeejay_eVo_Sense_v._2.3Revolution
i think this one is perfect with hastarin 7.7 and mms patch, pretty similar but with the widescreen photo option (zoom doesn't work) battery only last's about 6 hours of hard use but that's the price yo pay for a super phone.
Yeah btw, I made a thread just like this about best ROMs in the ROM section of the forum.
It got closed down by a mod and I got a PM saying threads asking which ROM is better are not allowed on the forum.
It's really weird I know. :S Surely they'd want threads like this to educate newbies and encourage friendly competition.
It's only to look for opinions and suggestions on what people thinks the best. Doesn't mean some peoples ROM's aren't good. I appreciate anyone's work. But some have things others don't. What works for one might not work for others, but in general we all want a smooth and running system. So this was just a in general question.
I didn't post the other one. Someone else posted that Poll. This was just looking for opinions and thoughts. His was an actual Poll with votes..
Thanks for the input so far guys. I'm still trying to decide what sense rom I'll load first. I've always loved Vanilla and never used Sense. And that is also why I think this question is a "ok" one to ask.
the reason these sorts of threads get closed occasionally is because whatever people answer is their own opinion, nothing can be based on fact. You may like one build that another person dislikes, and most users see threads such as these as pointless.
Last sense build I used was mdeejays desire hd build which has been discontinued now

[Q] Cyanogenmod question.

Hello and good afternoon all. Usually I dislike posting, Just because 99% of the time its found elsewhere. But after a quick search of the word cyanogenmod in both the xoom general and xoom QA sections. I couldn't find my answer.
Anyways, I keep seeing posts where everyone is so excited about the cyanogenmod coming to the Xoom, How its the most popular rom, Etc etc etc. My question is; What does CM9 offer exactly in comparison to whats already offered by teamEOS' rom's?
Being relatively new to the android world and only having one android device (my xoom) The only thing custom rom wise i've used would have to be TeamEOS' (formally Tiamat) moray rom and odachi kernel. So could someone please tell me what makes CM so great and so popular with everyone? if you dont mind of course.

Best ICS ROM for DHD

I know that there are a few threads already around this topic. But, I have a few specific questions that I wanted to raise.
Now that it's been confirmed that HTC won't be offering an ICS OTA for the DD, I wanted to know which of the different ROMs out here would suite me the best.
What I need is a ROM That's closest to the Vanilla ICS version, and one that includes Sense 3.5 I think?
Lastly, I'm a noob when it comes to flashing a custom ROM on the phone, and I've completed my contract with DHD and the phone has never been rooted. So, it would help if someone can offer a few simple instructions.
I also read through a few threads around similar topics, and could see that people are suggesting a few ROMs, but there are issues around the Camera & Video Camera. I am a very heavy user of both of these features, so, would that be a problem?
Thanks.
By chance did you come across the other threads that were closed?
Pm me with your questions, it won't be long before this one closes.
@zelendel - don't I get brownie points for predicting your arrival?

No, as Zel has the day off.
The best advice anyone can give you is take a look in the Development sections and try the ones that match the features your after. User experience is very subjective. Its like me asking you what is the best beer? Over 1,000,000 possible right answers.
