[Q] manually install 4.3.3 via odin

hey guys my i9500 is rooted on 4.2.2 ,i am currently running arrow rom.i just downloaded 4.3.3 official rom for my phone ,i just wanted to know whter it has to be installed in the same way as before via odin ,viz. selecting it on pda or i need to do anything else tooo.and do i need to make an efs backup also before i flash this rom.
i am a newb so plzz try to be noobfriendly
p.s i couldnt find any other post which could help me so if there is any,can you guys please post the link also
If you are still on 4.2.2, then I would recommend to not upgrade to a 4.3 stock rom. Doing so will flash the new bootloader which will setup Knox on your phone. When you have the new bootloader and you flash a custom rom, Knox wil be set to 0x1. You can read more about Knox in the Knox thread.
If you planning on flashing custom roms in the future, then stay away from official firmwares.

You can flash any custom rom based on 4.3 that you want. Because custom roms don't flash the bootloader. There seem te be some problems with sound and wifi (but i'm not sure) when you flash a custom 4.3 rom on an old bootloader. But you can always revert to a custom 4.2.2 rom. So you can just try it
Just don't flash originial firmwares. Custom roms are safe.

[Q] Old Bootloader & Newest Stock TW ROMs

Hey Guys,
being on old bootloader i want to flash one of the prerooted stock roms provided here.
In the OP it says for installing the JB 4.3 roms on old bootloaders: "Other than wifi, the rom is fully working, (...) To get wifi fully working, dev needs 4.3 kernel sources, so please wait!".
So will i break WiFi because i can't use (as also said in the thread) the WiFi Fix on old bootloader?
I would like to flash the newest prerooted Stock Rom (XXUEMKE from 27.11.2013) via CWM.
i use a 4.3 costom rom with no wi fi problems if u had problems with your connection just flash a 4,3 modem and that should solve it.

The provided roms in the linked thread don't contain a modem. I'm currently on MJ5 with latest (newest) possible LTE modem for old bootloader. So I don't understand why it says in the thread that there can occur Wi-Fi problems..

that is because when 4.3 came at the begining they didnt have the kernal sources for 4.3 and that made lots of problems but now there are a lot of kernals for 4.3 like ktoones, Faux and talexop's kernal

Recommendation for a Kernal to use with Stock Android 5.0

Hey guys,
I'm flashing back to stock 5.0 as I 've haven't had great luck with most roms. Can someone tell me a recommended kernal I can flash with this ? I have a note n900w8 (Bell Mobility - Canada).
Thanks !
wrong place for your post!
Stock kernel comes with stock firmware .
if you flash another kernel you will need to flash a custom recovery and that makes it not a stock rom .
