Hi all im new to the android game, iam trying to repair my s3 imei with QPST NV item Manger. But im stuck at the Qualcomm USB Settings part where you enter *#7284# the only settings that come up are UART And USB where you can change it to pda or modem. When i change the USB to modem from pda it comes up on the computer as cdc communications interface and asks for a driver.
Any help will be great ive been stuck on this for 2days trying to figure it out
My galaxy s3 is locked to vodafone running a jelly bean custom rom. It was Ice cream sandwich before but when i put in *#7284# it would just come up as "connection problem or invalid MMI code".
Thanks in Advance

That guide doesn't apply to you; the Qualcomm related stuff is only for the US and Canadian Galaxy S3 models; they have a COMPLETELY different chipset (Snapdragon S4 instead of Exynos Quad). Do not follow that guide.
how would i do it on Exynos Quad version s3?
You never backed up your EFS partition before flashing a ROM or something?
This is for the Galaxy S II but it MAY work for you (no guarantees). A guy said this guide worked for his S1.

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if I can get some help on getting my tab back on a road. Make long story short, here it goes.
OK. I was playing wit my tab last night and unfortunately it got stuck , nothing works , black screen. This happened after I tried to flash my tab to make calls with (Samsung TAB Euro Flash Package) From : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=847273
At the time this happened my tab was rooted and I had a TWRP 2.3.3.1 and Goo Manager installed on ICS 4.0.4. I also saved all the backup files on my PC.
I was following the steps on a first page, after first flash something went wrong and now Odin doesn't recognize the tab as before. And it's being recognized by computer as a Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM4) . Now i'm lost and don't know what to do. Please lead me in a right direction. Thank you.
I would recommend to connect your tab to a charger and let it charge for 4-5 hours. Then try to connect to a computer USB port without ODIN. If you are lucky your tab will switch to a "Download" mode. Then you can start ODIN and reflash it.
The best would be to find recommendations how to get into "Download" mode in its native forum. I suspect that you flashed ROM compiled to a different processor. European 3G and US LTE Samsung Tabs use different processors. I don't think you managed to overwrite bootloader.
Good luck!

It sounds like your boot loaders got damaged. I have a thread for shv-e160l which covers some of what's required to repair that issue.
Its a sub forum under i717 at & t, work is underway to expand the repair list so although we don't support the device directly under the repair tools we can at least assist you

Or maybe you flashed a P1000(Original Tab) firmware to you 8.9, did not research, had no idea, and are in bad shape; then posted in wrong section. Carelessness.
I am going nuts trying to figure this out. I got my phone into DM mode and was able to connect DFS and CDMA WS to it and then all of a sudden it no longer is able to be read. I have done just about everything I can think of to get it working including a rtn reset and clearing efs on the phone. Nothing seems to want to kick it back into a usable DM mode.....
Anyone care to help me??

*#7284# click modem i believe (you might have to toggle to pda later)
After you do that part this is what you do.
As long as the hidden menu is enabled
press *#0808#
this will bring up a menu kinda like the s3. Under usb settings change it to
dm+modem+adb
you'll get 2 serial and modem ports. Toggle the pda and modem back and forth and it should read. *now just need someone to find the 16 digit passcode and we're all in there!
Hope this helps!

I Bought a Samsung Galaxy s4 from private sale 4 days ago. As i look further into the device I am having more and more problems. It says its is a MT6589 cpu model. The woman i got the phone from said it was from Italy. My computer recognizes the device through the my computer option but not when i plug it into kies or try odin. Id love to update the system to a american version so everything works. it is the 4.2.2 version 1.6 Mhz dual core. I cant seem to find a way with the drivers correct to see my device to root. when i power the device off and hold the power+Volume down+ menu it goes into something but its all Chinese and i cant read it.The accu weather will not work as it doesnt even recognize any where in the united states. The gps doesnt seem to work or wireless kies or many other functions.I am at a loss in what to do. I know a little but not a lot about the android system. I can get any info needed for anyone that may have any suggestions for me to try. Thank you so much. Basically I hope this is not a entire loss. I have tried a number of things to try to have kies see my device but no luck as of yet

Sorry you won't find much help here as you appear to have bought a chinese S4 clone. I suggest checking in the general android section for assistance as there won't be a dedicated forum for your device. I would ask for your money back as you have not been sold a genuine S4.

The N9005 is an Exynos SOC chip. The VZW Note3 (SM-N900V) uses a completely different SOC - a Qualcomm 8974.
What you did got a similar result as to what you might expect if you flashed the firmware from a digital camera - or a vacuum cleaner - on to your phone. 100% certainty of disaster.
Take it in to a Verizon store and see if they can do anything. Don't explain anything at all about what you did; just say "I don't know what happened - it won't boot up, but something still happens when I connect it to a PC". Try to be very nice. Maybe even so nice that you (carefully) offer a bribe if you manage to talk to a tech.
Do this even if you are not a Verizon customer. The worst they can do is tell you "No, GTFO".
Desperate times call for desperate measures, and you are in a desperate situation.
PS: please report back as to what the outcome is.

Hey Guys,
So I wanted to get better 3G and 4G Signal, So I used a Article I came across here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059
I backed up NVRAM and added the additional bands as stated in this Article, and after writing the changes and a reboot on my phone, My phone bootloops and restarts as soon as it reaches the Lock Screen. This is disabling me to interface with the Serial Port again so I can change the settings back. Is there a way to stop the radio from being loaded so I can fix my phone?
Since ART takes twice as long to startup, I used a Android 4.4.4 Stock ROM and I was more successful, I had more time in the system itself but When I enabled RNDIS + DM + Modem on the Device, I only got a APQ8084 (0) Device which dosen't work with the restore and software programming (Last Time 3 Devices Showed Up APQ8084 + MDM* + No Phone (Samsung QC/Data Modem), But now I only get APQ8084 + No Phone + No Phone).
Any Ideas?

I have a SM-G900T and I was able to complete the procedure. In my case, it showed that all 3G/UMTS bands were already selected, but the bit field for the 4G was 0. My house gets 700MHz LTE, but it is Band 17, not Band 12, so I have not yet verified that the new band is enabled.
I used the "Qualcomm NV tools" including in EFS Professional to perform a backup of NVRAM before trying the procedure. I also had trouble changing the USB mode of the device. None of the secret codes for USB settings worked on my device (either with CM or stock), but I was able to use EFS professional to change the USB mode. On Win10 x64, adb and MTP were already working, but in modem/diagnostic mode, I was seeing an unknown Samsung/Android device. I reinstalled SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones v1.5.45.00 and restarted and voila, the serial port driver was installed.
If you successfully exposed the diagnostic virtual serial port, you should be able to use NV Tools in EFS to dump a backup of NVRAM before writing any values.

Thanks for the help but I just fixed it and now I have another problem, The phone boots but says that it needs a SIM Network Unlock Code, Should be simple enough to fix but Thank you. Even the steps you listed above may not have worked for me as the device was in a constant bootloop.
