I am going nuts trying to figure this out. I got my phone into DM mode and was able to connect DFS and CDMA WS to it and then all of a sudden it no longer is able to be read. I have done just about everything I can think of to get it working including a rtn reset and clearing efs on the phone. Nothing seems to want to kick it back into a usable DM mode.....
Anyone care to help me??

can you share how you got it to connect diag mode in first place. i have been struggling to do that. usb debugging is on, hidden menu screen enabled but doesnt show qualcomm settings in the *#7284 screen. I did try *#0808# and it shows the qualcomm settings there however it doesnt connect to computer when changed to dm mode. thanks

*#7284# click modem i believe (you might have to toggle to pda later)
After you do that part this is what you do.
As long as the hidden menu is enabled
press *#0808#
this will bring up a menu kinda like the s3. Under usb settings change it to
dm+modem+adb
you'll get 2 serial and modem ports. Toggle the pda and modem back and forth and it should read. *now just need someone to find the 16 digit passcode and we're all in there!
Hope this helps!

Ok, before I begin I'd like to thank anyone who has an idea before hand..lol..now then, on to my dilemma...So I got tired of my Tp2 after I seeing the epic. So I decided to flash an epic to boost..cause thats what my Tp2 was on. Every thing went great with the flash..I got the phone connected..had my mms working..and my wifi 3g, but I couldnt connect to the internet with tthew phone having wifi turned on....So I reflashed the phone..but changed some of my ppp config numbers.. i did back up my oringinal ppp config..now, ok on to the problem..when I wrote to the phone using QPST on the 2nd flash... it reset as normal.. when it came back on my signal bars went to a blue circle with a line through it..and i get a messege saying, "com, android phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"..when i put the phone in DIAG Mode it dosent pic up the drives any more..and i do have the propers drivers installed..IO need to know if there away to get into the phone for programing with the issue i have....as I said before, any body who has an idea please suggest it..if not I have an epic for parts for sale!!
You ca always odin back. Otherwise I sometimes have to reboot after a rom flash to get I to work properly. Try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773032

It worked..just not for what i needed..i can hear the phone connecting to the com...but its not reading as a modem or portable device....the phone even does DIAG Mode ##8878# normally,, but when i try connecting QPSTor Cdma it says the port is busy or not working properly....also when i go to ceck the staus of the phone i still get the error" The process com.android. phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."...the only things i chaned in QPST where PPP Config,Um settings:tethered nai: i made blank to match my Tp2...i need away to access DIAG mode..
Did you try the development section?...there's an entire thread talking about this.
I don't.know a whole.lot.about this issue.but would.doing a hands free activation and resetting everything help. ##3282#. Just trying to help
Sent from my Evo Killer!!!
OK when I do the ##3282# the phone ask for my MSL..so I was thinking it should be the same as mt Tp2 ...since I changed the SPC when I copied the Tp2s' info to the Epic...to make sure...I read the MSL/subsidy lock code off the Tp2 by means of QPST....When i enter it into the epic, it just sits there..then this error pops up >Modem exception occurs...The problem is minnor...but if theres noway to access DIG MODE to change things, I'm going to dismantel the phone..and I hate to do that.
@ lazy I will head over to the development section to see what I can come up with...a link to what page you are referring to specficaly would have been nice...but since my classes start at 12 today, I got time to seach...lol
I would take it in to the sprin store. If you have odined the modem pit and tar file and still isn't working.

I dnt think they'll be able to do anything....its in the programing programing
Every time I flash something different, I have to uninstall, reboot, then reinstall the drivers for it to pick up my phone again. Give that a try, and also try another usb port if still no go.
Did you try re-installing your drivers? What happens when you connect your phone to another port on your comp?
I would re install drivers and connect to a diff port.
Another way to get connected to cdma or qpst is... plug in phone. You'll receive the prompt with three choices: charging, mass storage, and tethered modem. Select "tethered modem" then select "3g modem". then add your port in cdma or qpst.
How do add the port with the method u mentioned? Tethered/3g...I'm trying that but my QPST doesnt pick up the port; it gives an error.the port isn working properly or may be busy(-2147467259) im running win7....i have reinstalled the drivers twice, and it hasnt sloved the problem...the tethered connection seems to only be for memory acess. USB must be the only wat to acess the phones hard drive.
Hopefully I can get pointed to the right direction.
I'm trying to flash some prl's to my vs980, but the verizon hidden menu is useless, and I can't seem to access anything useful nor enable diagnostics mode to do any flashing. The most I found was download mode, but it seems useful only for firmware flashing. I'm open to any suggestions if I've missed anything.
Thanks
Since the verizon hidden menu is useless, does anyone know if it's possible to add a hidden menu apk from a different G2 stock rom? I'm hoping I can enable diag mode from there.
Hi guys,
I have a samsung galaxy s4 with no imei label on the battery place and the screen is smashed so no way to activate the debug mode or the diag mode
The only thing I did so far to be able to read the IMEI is to boot the phone in Download mode but CDMA tools are not working as the phone is not in diag mode.
Anybody knows how can I read the IMEI of this phone? I checked this post but even getting into ADB it´s complicated as it never boots on the Recovery mode.
Thanks in advance.

Ok, I think I know now the answer for this just in case somebody will have the same issue...
As I don't have any option to control the phone as the screen is smashed, there is no way to activate the Diag Mode (*#0808#) in order to make the CDMA tool read my IMEI.
Solution: I found on Ebay an HDMI adapter with also USB host for 10 british pounds approx. This way I should be able to use my TV as the screen with a mouse or keyboard
It's on its way, so as soon as I get it working or not I will post how it goes.
Cheers,
Yedi
Solved.
With the device I mentioned I was able to connect the phone to the TV via HDMI and also adapt a USB keyboard to be able to control it as the screen was broken.
Happy days!

Hi.
I bought the Verizon Moto E (2015) XT1528.
I am trying to get LTE work in the Philippines and LTE bands here are different from what Verizon has enabled.
I'd like to ask if anyone has been able to add/unlock other LTE bands like the guide in the link below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059
I am having problems searching for the code the access the USB Settings menu (step 6 of the guide above):
"Open the USB settings screen on your phone. Change USB from AP to CP. And USB settings from MTP + ADB to RNDIS + DM + Modem mode (after you have finished making edits in your phone's memory, remember to revert the original settings in this screen).
This is the hardest part of this mod as the USB setting menu is usually hidden and the method to access it is slightly different on some brands. For the S5, you can open it by dialing *#0808# . Other phones may use *#7284# , *#8778# , *#*#8778#*#* , ##3424# or something else entirely. "
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Hey Guys,
So I wanted to get better 3G and 4G Signal, So I used a Article I came across here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059
I backed up NVRAM and added the additional bands as stated in this Article, and after writing the changes and a reboot on my phone, My phone bootloops and restarts as soon as it reaches the Lock Screen. This is disabling me to interface with the Serial Port again so I can change the settings back. Is there a way to stop the radio from being loaded so I can fix my phone?
Since ART takes twice as long to startup, I used a Android 4.4.4 Stock ROM and I was more successful, I had more time in the system itself but When I enabled RNDIS + DM + Modem on the Device, I only got a APQ8084 (0) Device which dosen't work with the restore and software programming (Last Time 3 Devices Showed Up APQ8084 + MDM* + No Phone (Samsung QC/Data Modem), But now I only get APQ8084 + No Phone + No Phone).
Any Ideas?

I have a SM-G900T and I was able to complete the procedure. In my case, it showed that all 3G/UMTS bands were already selected, but the bit field for the 4G was 0. My house gets 700MHz LTE, but it is Band 17, not Band 12, so I have not yet verified that the new band is enabled.
I used the "Qualcomm NV tools" including in EFS Professional to perform a backup of NVRAM before trying the procedure. I also had trouble changing the USB mode of the device. None of the secret codes for USB settings worked on my device (either with CM or stock), but I was able to use EFS professional to change the USB mode. On Win10 x64, adb and MTP were already working, but in modem/diagnostic mode, I was seeing an unknown Samsung/Android device. I reinstalled SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones v1.5.45.00 and restarted and voila, the serial port driver was installed.
If you successfully exposed the diagnostic virtual serial port, you should be able to use NV Tools in EFS to dump a backup of NVRAM before writing any values.

Thanks for the help but I just fixed it and now I have another problem, The phone boots but says that it needs a SIM Network Unlock Code, Should be simple enough to fix but Thank you. Even the steps you listed above may not have worked for me as the device was in a constant bootloop.
