What are your thoughts?
Is this enough for you to leave T-Mobile for AT&T?
Just posted about the One S which is coming to t-mobile, check the general section for the link...will be dual core with sense 4.0 out of the box...think I will be staying myself, though at&t's version does sound better...
Nothing short of a gun to my head would make me switch to AT&T - A.K.A. the slime of humanity. Even then I'd have to think about it.
You know humanity has gone down the toilet when people are willing to chase a phone to join a carrier that they hate, because leasing (yeah, I said leasing) a phone that is grossly overpowered to perform phone-like tasks, is a life-defining event.
Then again, it already happened numerous times over with the iPhone, so why not with the One X?
I have never been on AT&T, only Sprint and T-mobile. I am not thrilled about Tmo as I think Sprint was better for me in my area. I just think it is a shame that tmo gets the second hand htc one..s.. Then they have the nervous to go and announce it as if it is a game changer
you guys do know that the HTC One X on AT&T is also a dual core processor right?

And to add to that, you guys know that the version with quad-core Tegra 3 will most likely be slower and less battery-efficient than the one with dual core Snapdragon S4, judging by the current comparisons...

Pretty much. Either the one x or s. Basically the same (the U.S. versions) but the s has a .4 inch smaller screen and is qhd samoled as opposed to super LCD hd on the x. Imo you can't go wrong with either one.

If im correct I read from a site which all said that T-Mobile will get the Tegra 3 version that AT&T Snapdragon S4. Also a stock version of Ice Cream Sandwich (Plus the Beats & Camera) as well like how they did with LG Optimus 2X which got rid of all 'LGs' things etc.
Now my 'opinion'.
The Snapdragon S4 is a better choice and its a shame its only for AT&T. Reason?
Dual Core Cortex A-15 'More Power efficient' which means less heat plus manufactured on a 'die' of 28nm. This phone should be hard to get hot or even warm.
Im sure many of you had a dual core phone, seriously how hot does that get while playing game? Galaxy S2 for example, or even Galaxy Nexus :\!
Nevermind Quad A9! The Companion Core won't kick in when your gaming...

Fighting LG
I guess this is deeper than just responding to the LG phone, it also means that SIII is probably more highly adaptable to combinations of hardware in design than expected.
Although Samsung said the Super AMOLED Plus has a problem or short-lived blue dots, but I think they are reserving it for something even bigger.
Considering the there are also reports saying that Google wants Jelly Beans to be released in Nexus first, I guess Samsung will do something better very soon. What's more, who supplies Apple with the New iPad screen? Samsung!
Maybe "SIII Advanced" with better Super HD AMOLED Plus? Flexible AMOLED? Even thinner body? SIII isn't as slim as we thought.
C'mon man, let's not start another hype-nuke with the Nexus and the amoleds plus 2x epic and flexible amoleds and 1mm phones.

I have neither, but all I can say is that I'll never buy a non-nexus phone from Samsung. If you want good software, wait for the nexus, but if you want good hardware, the S3 would be for you. Personally, I feel that only good hardware isn't what all a person needs..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
I have both. Nexus is rooted, S3 not yet. S3 manages it's power a lot better. Nexus must be rooted to achieve decent battery life. Hardware is much better on S3, but I wouldn't have a problem going back to my nexus either.

The S3's bootloader on Verizon is locked. That right there makes me want to keep my Nexus. I'm new to Samsung anyways. Only had my Nexus for a few weeks now. I've played with the S3... its a sweet phone. The screen and camera are amazing! But I'm content with my Nexus for now.

I don't have a Nexus, but I've played with one and it's certainly a great phone.
I'm an AOSP-addict, who has never once been satisfied by a manufacturer's ROM. I would crack-flash a buggy build of CyanogenMod rather than have something like Sense/Motoblur.
However... The TouchWiz on my Galaxy S3 isn't so bad when rooted and debloated. It's good enough that I switched back to it from the buggy CM10 ROM I had on it.
They're both good phones, but it boils down to how badly you want AOSP and updates from Google.

I wouldnt say that my Sprint GS3 is that much better than my GS2 Epic Touch.I think the screen on my Epic Touch might be better.Other than this they are almist the same.In Qudrant GS3 scores aloms the same in FPS tests(i know GS3 has higher res) it beats GS2 by low margins in others, and in some tests GS2 scores higher.
Is GS3 better?Yes,but not by much. Now international quad core Xynos version is probably a lot better, and Korean quad core with 2gb of ram is the king of phones at the moment.

Same. A15 processors, Mali-6xx series gpu and 1080p displays will be out next year.
I'd like 2GB RAM, external SD and then I see all those new ARM chips coming...
-Note2 is too big for me (great device though)
-perhaps SGS3 LTE with 2GB RAM (depending on the price, I love AMOLED but pentile again... not sure)
-LG Nexus... no ext-SD and no confidence, I'm sure their integration will have problems (just seeing audio quality in GSM arena test in comparison of other S4 phones or benchmarks that seems always inferior to other quad S4 phones)
-HTC J Butterfly if the screen is good and hardware is working without issue (a bit tall though)
So I'm still waiting.
Nexus 4 if it comes with 32 gb storage
Depends, if my parents are gonna lend me money for a car. If so it is going to be the Note 3 or 4

Actually: CPU Quad-core 1.9 GHz Krait 300 (I9505) VS. Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 (I9500).
In tests it seems that I9505 was only some very small steps behind the 8 core... so I would think carefully. If you plan to change again the phone in next year or so, then yes, go for the 8 core. Otherwise, bear in mind that LTE will become more and more used... and cheaper

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy LTE speeds. But I almost always on WiFi. Probably 90-95 percent of the time I'm using my phone is on WiFi. So LTE is not a big deal to me. And like you said, if I plan on getting a new phone in a year then get the octacore. I get a new phone at least once a year sometimes more.

To add to your statement. I just read several articles that discussed how the snapdragon processor is designed for the LTE bands used by USA carriers. The Exynos processor requires a lot of work by Samsung to make it work on lte in the us. The note 3 may be the first samsung phone to have the octacore and LTE in the us. But I don't want a 6 inch screen in my front pocket. That would be almost like putting an ipad mini of your pocket. Almost.

The i9505 will only get hot under intensive use such as gaming or the likes. I had no choice in choosing an i9500 or i9505, but I don't mind. The octacore is all nice when the technology works as Samsung advertised it, but it doesn't, and the i9505 doesn't lag at all for me. Plenty of development and debloated ROM's to keep you happy.

Again, that's what was said about the S3. That quad core + lte was too hard but then the S3 4g i9305 was released. Remember from release they had a quad core + lte in Korea so why people were saying it was too hard beats me. And now again the Korean model is both Octa and lte.

One thing I am seeing a lot of is that the GT-i9500 has an overheating problem. Does the GT-i9505 have the same problem or not? I also see a lot more development on the GT-i9505 but I really only want to root to de-bloat and I don't really need custom Ron for that.

I am using a I9505. What I can say is that, while it get warm/hot under certain circumstances (mostly games + charging in parallel), it is the 'coldest' phone I had until now. Compared, even the S3 is getting much hotter. So far, I did not find the temperature as a disturbing point (as with several other phones).
