TPT oddity - Blade General

Hi to all.
Trying to resolve problem that I have with non working GPS (rather trying to determine if hardware or software problem) I have flashed various images of android on device.
On last flash i have bricked phone (green android logo and ftm ). After couple of tpt attempts i have tried tpt of orange sff (mine phone has orange logo). After that phone showed that it is locked to network but i could not unlock it. I have than flashed another tpt with fw and it all went fine. got back CM7 and my restored files. I then checked with Blade checker and now it displays that this is stock/windows upgraded gen2 phone but i know that this is gen1 phone.
Question is : How do i revert back to gen1? If this question is answered before please point me where. I'm having bad week and searching thru forum is taking too much time for me.

TPT HELPER app from Google play has a download Gen2 to Gen1 v2 stock. That should to it.

[Q] Downgrade U8800 android 2.3.5 beta to 2.2.1 or 2.2.2

Hello. I got this U8800 with android 2.2.1 but upgrade it to 2.3.5 because i wantet new layout etc.. I dit it this way - placed the map dload with the file 2.3.5 on my memery card and followed by the routine for innstallation. Every is working fine but now i have problems with wifi and 3 g connection. Is there a easy way to downgrade to a android 2.2.1 or 2.2.2 because i have read that this works. Hope somone can help
Just do the same you did to update, but with the 2.2.x dload folder

Thanks, it worked
hi i did the same with a u8800-51 and then once nothing worked and i researched.....(i know i should have researched first) that the u8800-51 was not good for the huawei site upgrade. after several hours of searching i found a link on here that pointed me toward a downgrade, but turns out its for the u8800 pro while everything kinda works i can tell from what i had before its not working properly. long story short im a nub and did not back up the stock stuff. and now have no way to get it back is there anyway that someone can provide me with the files i need to return my u8800-51 impulse 4g back to stock?
Same issue
I also put the 2.3.5 b826 on my impulse also. thought i only had a u8800. Not the 8800-51
i flashed the same u8800pro on mine, and now i am trying to root it, speed it up, and get everything working.
I've contacted both huawei and AT&T with no dice. AT&T won't give out original root files, they think we'll hack them, break em, and go in for warranty with a new flash on a bricked phone. no....never.
Huawei support is dismal, they were useless.
By the way my local warranty place (in Dallas) said I voided the warranty by downloading an unaproved download.
So... for now your phone will act funny, do strange things, and not be stock again for a while.
*Found a smart Huawei rep, and supervisor, they said they might have the stock u8800-51 rom to me by today. I will post if recieved.
*Found a person in the forum that might have the original root also. once again will post if recieved.
*The root file being flung around as a u8800-15 is really a u8800pro rom so not much help
I'll keep you posted on any progress.

So, been scouring this thread, for my U8800-51 issue, after realizing I didn't have the U8800. I thought I was being "smart", because I downloaded from Huawei. Only to discover I no longer had AT&T service, wi-fi & trying to add the right APN info wasn't working. If you've got the stock firmware (Android 2.2-Froyo), I'd really appreciate your sharing, please.
Thx,

hi. a have the same problem with my phone. Did you find the solution??

Swedish Snow / CyanogenMod: Error while searching for networks.

hi,
can't seem to find the answer on any thread or maybe my forum searching skill is not adequate enough.
i have a problem.
my blade is gen2. comes with a stock 2.3.5 version of android.
here are the details that i have pulled out from the information status screen; which might be of useful information to correct my problem.
p729b01
2.3.5
[email protected]
Kernel 2.6.35.7-perf+
build number zte-bladev1.0.0b02
tried both swedish snow and cyanogenmod7 but still the problem persists. the blade can't search for any networks manually or automatically.
no problem with the original supplied android system.
i followed the usual steps: install clockwordmod, put image into root of sdcard, wipe cache, wipe system, install image, and system boots successfully. the only problem is the network problem.
what am i doing wrong?
You're phone is a gen3 blade the roms you are flashing are gen2.

Yeah, you can use the MMHP patch for Swedish Snow and the "CM9" (from the KonstaKANG thread on modaco) gen3 patch for any version of CM.
It's as easy as flashing it with CWM and rebooting and your gen3 phone will work just fine.
Do NOT try the various TPT's though, at least not without an sdcard with the original rom in the /image/image.bin because it probably won't work and you'll end up with a messed up screen (depending on which one you use it'll be different but the usual is a blue screen with vertical white stripes across it) just like i did when i tried the various ones.
The only TPT i've found that works is the windows gen3 TPT which also unlocks the phone but unless you're looking to unlock your phone there is really no reason to use it since it's got the same partition setup as original.
As rahulsa said, use Blade checker instead and it'll report it as a gen3.

Here ya go: http://www.mediafire.com/?15klvs6vs2mdcy3
It's a flashable zip file so you flash it via your recovery.
I'll add the other one too: http://www.mediafire.com/?f3yukhcn7woh3de
It says CM9 but it'll work fine on CM7 too.
Both patches are courtesy of KonstaT.

[Q] How to check version of ZTE blade without ROM

Hi.
My friend "bricked" his ZTE Blade.
We want to try unbrick it, but we must find what version of Blade it really is (I (gen1/gen2, II...).
We can't get also in recovery/FTM/fastboot
Is there any way to do it? (we can't run the pigfish apk....)
Thanks
Ask him what version of android he had on it,
generally speaking if it came with android 2.1 it'll be gen1 and if it came with 2.2 it'll be gen2, there have been reports of users having 2.2 gen1 but 99% of the time you can rely on this. that's why blade checker and ask mr pigfish have to check details in the kernel to establish if it is gen1 or gen2 but considering it is bricked this is what you'll have to go on
OK, thanks, I will ask.
I think that he flashed bad gen version of CM7.
I hope that we can solve it with TPT (phone still boot into green android) but I'm afraid that with flashing bad TPT we can totally brick it...
BTW ZTE Blade gen2 is different from Blade II right?

If he flashed anything above CM7.0.0 and it doesn't boot, he'll have a gen1, I think CM7.0.0 is the only gen1 official CM.
Have you tried booting into recovery? Power on with volume down if I remember correctly. If not try volume up.
Yeah ZTE blade gen2 is different from the Blade 2

OK.
Yes, he tried to boot it with vol+/- or also with home button, but nothing.
Also I must ask, if it wasn't CM7.2, thats for gen2 right?
I didn't have the phone in my hand yet. Maybe next week...

CM7.2 is gen2 only, was that the one he flashed?
If so he will have a gen1 phone as if it isn't booting then it must be that.

He tried to flash CM7 via original recovery manager.
Also he said, that in Czech Republic isn't gen1, so it should be gen2...

Via rom manager? Okay so if you're sure it's gen2 try flashing a gen2 compatible TPT or if you can get into fastboot make sure to flash a gen2 compatible recovery

Motorla Complex Problem

Hello all.
I have come into the possession of a broken MB525. The touch screen was completely broken so I sent it in for repairs. They replaced the touch and everything and they even needed to reheat the motherboard and do some work on it in order to get the phone to start since that was cracked as well.
Well the phone is currently working but apparently it is loaded with a 2.3.6 MB526 stock rom, so it basically reads it as a Defy+ which is wrong. The first problem with it would be the restarts. It has moments when it works fluidly and it has moments when it restarts every 30 seconds. Is this due to the damaged board or is this due to the battery? If it's due to the board I'd rather know about it now so I can just take it easy with it.
The second problem is that I can't get the Internal Storage detected. Even if I put it in USB mass storage, I have no access to the internal SD card. Is this normal?
The third problem is that I can't root. SuperOneClick or any other program that I have tried does not work, getting stuck in Shell root step 7. Is this because of the MB526 firmware? If so, how do I flash a MB525 firmware and which one exactly do I flash for Romania, Europe? I'm going to replace it anyway, I just want the phone rooted with CWM and then I'm going to get CM11.
Thanks guys.
Use this app for root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37508806
Then install Quarx CM10 Rom it's the most stable with everything working. After this come back here and tell us if you have other problems.

It won't root like this. Only one of the versions of the above program works and the Gimli exploit just crashes to home screen while the other one doesn't work. I have the MB526 Retail Central Europe 2.3.6 Version. What about my internal storage? Why doesn't it show up?

[Q] Motorola Defy MB525 stock rom + simlock

Hello guys
Friend of mine gave me Motorola Defy to flash into stock rom as guy from local repair shop told him that this cannot be unlocked to all networks as long as its run Cyanogenmod and there is must to install original stock rom.
I have downloaded stock droid developers in ".sbf" extension and was researching xda in order to find out how to flash it but more I researched more I afraid become to do it.
I have found so many warnings not to downgrade that phone to Froyo, some posts saying not to flash ".sbf" at all but asked you guys for help.
Is there any safe way to reduce possibility of bricking this Motorola to the minimum?
Could someone advise me what should i do in this case? Should I give up flashing?
Helpful informations:
MB525 - on the label under the battery
MB526 - detected by system CM11-20140731-NIGHTLY-mb526
Recovery - TWRP
Thank You in advance for any help provided.

Hi, you can try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50699347&postcount=511 to unsimlock while staying on cm11, but no idea if it will really work.
I have flashed my defy many times without any problems, i have used a sbf from this list http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966537 and kept it as reference in order not to use a downgraded sbf.
Just make sure the defy is fully charged, rsd lite + motodrivers are installed .

Flashing with RSD Lite didn't want to work as program didn't want to discover my phone, found another solution which is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=775913
Simple and works 100% even when my phone didn't turn on because wrong sbf, I could flash as many as I wanted to get the working one, which was mb526 2.3.6 version surprisingly
...
But now I need to get this devices rooted and all xda tutorials are about reflashing rooted sbf and installing twrp after that. Could someone advise me how to recognize rooted sbf which will be compatible with mb525??
I have tried framaroot to avoid flashing again but it didn't work unfortunately.
