Anyone has leftover parts? - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hello,
It seems that it wasn't enough that my usb port died, it seems that my power button has died as well. So I'm in here asking if anyone got a spare U8800 that he or she doesn't use, because it's bricked or it has a damaged screen, from which you could take the power ribbon cable and send it to me? I'd pay the postage and anything else (be reasonable).
Thanks in advance as this is my ultimate attempt to keep this phone alive xD

I'll bump so I'll ressurect my hope of someone having the kindness to spare their damaged/bricked X5 parts

What he said. I just looked on taobao and you can buy one for 350 RMB plus shipping. Shipping really shouldn't be that much, and the repair is pretty easy. The repair book is on this forum. If you need someone who can speak Chinese to help you negotiate, let us know.

[Q] No power at all - please help diagnose

I bought an hd2 that would not power on from somebody on ebay. I have some experience with small electronics and phones so I thought I would give it a shot. The phone also came with a set of beats tour headphones and a power mat which I can use with my working phone (or more to the point my wife will steal) so I don't feel like I got ripped off.
Anyway, this phone is completely dead. The person that sold it to me said it was running an Android ROM and then was just dead one day. I was really hoping that he just let it power down all the way and it wouldn't charge because I had read that hd2s will not charge when powered down if they have magldr installed. He didn't sound too savvy about phones.
There is nothing going on at all. No LED when plugged in. The battery doesn't get warm. Nothing happens when I press buttons and it doesn't mount or anything when I connect it to a computer. The water indicator is solid white.
I have tried a different battery which I charged with an external charger and different chargers etc. It feels a little like the usb connector could be loose. I can understand how that might prevent it from charging but it should still work with a charged battery right? Same with the battery connectors. I know the pins can have issues but it should still power on when plugged in right?
Could something be loose inside? I am thinking about pulling it apart and trying some surgery.
Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is a beautiful phone in perfect condition so I would really like to use it.
is it a tmous? (red end green send keys) and if so, does it ask for qualcomm drivers and then say drivers not found when you usb it to the pc?
Sounds like you may have as hard bricked HD2(I am betting you have a TMOUS HD2). If it is hard bricked it can only be revived with JTAG. If it turns out to be hard bricked PM me and I can point you to someone that JTAGS HD2's all the time and for a very low price.
Now if none of the battery pins are not bent and you do have a charged battery. I would sugest you try pressing the power button several times rapidly. I have to do it with my HD2, the power button on the HD2's are none to start giving users problems. Also make sure to hold down the volume down button while you try to power it on to see if it boots into the bootloader. If you can not get it to do either of these then as I said before you are probably hard bricked.
Thanks for the info and quick replies. Yes, it is a tmobile hd2. I guess I should have mentioned that.
I get nothing when I plug it in to a computer. It doesn't try to load drivers or anything. I tried two different computers. I also tried the rapid fire on the power on button but I didn't get anything.
I will PM you about getting it jtag unlocked. It is such a cool looking paper weight.
hmm i wouldnt be so quick, , since it doent respond to usb, it could be actually broken, not just radio bricked, and jtag may not fix it. If you are already fairly happy with the other items in the purchase, it might be better to simply sell teh phone as unknown condition - parts, recoup a few $$ and buy a cheap working one. JTAG will cost you, not a lot, but enough to make it worth considering other options.
my sense of adventure will not allow me to give up too easily but I am leaning that way. If I could get $50 for it, I could buy one in working condition and I would still be coming out ahead (I paid $130 but my wife would smack me if I tried to send back her new headphones). The only thing that gives me pause is that it is in such awesome physical condition.
I have the pry tool and other stuff I need to pull it apart so I may just see if a cable is loose. I mean, if it were a big computer, I would be checking all the power connections especially since the guy said it just died. That said, I realize that he may have fried the board somehow. I haven't tried the powermat but I am wondering if it is screwed up. I also wonder about the loose usb jack. He may have tried to jam a different kind of adapter into it.
I just tried another power cable and there connector is definitely loose. Maybe this guy dropped it even though he specifically said he didn't.
Oh just thought I would add. The Micro USB port is sodered directly to the mainboard of the HD2. So unless you are very familiar with sodering I do not suggest you try to replace or repair the Micro USB port. It would be simpler to just replace the mainboard, that would solve the USB port problem and the possum le bricked problem all in one. But that might be more money then you want to invest in the device. So as Sam said, don't count out selling it for parts like the screen and digitizer and such.
Ok thanks for the info! I definitively do not have the soldering ability to work on mobile phones. I don't want to mess it up to the point that nobody will even buy it for parts. I could see trying to sell it with solder on the screen or something. I also wonder if it would make a difference because it doesn't even work with a charged battery. I am thinking that the main board is toast but I might open it to see.
I think I saw a mainboard for $50. I think it would be cheaper and less risky to just buy one in working condition.
nah i got the same bricked eu hd2 phone but what do you think? Service recognize the magdrl and android os?

[Q] is it normal to get black screen when turning on my HD2 with these parts only ?

i'm disassembling my HD2 after it dropped in water ...
the screen were working properly but while i', trying to disassemble the digitizer with some parts the screen became black
what can i do ?
thanks in advanced .
Yes it will boot normally with those parts as I do that to test all HD2s prior to final build up.
Issue I see is button board cable looks to be cut. I use a spare button board cable to power phone on as when laid out like that the original one obviously will not reach socket on mainboard & a spare button board plugged in mainboard is easiest route for this kind of testing ...

thank you for replying ...
actually I'm using an external wire to power on the device because my button board cable is corrupted ...
do you have any idea about repairing the black screen while booting ?
i can't buy any part for my device ... i'm in the besieged "HOMS" in Syria
Might be best let it dry out further before adding power as normally leave handsets for about 4 days to be safe ...
What signs of life are you getting when powering on with your wire ?
If on WM OS you could use MyMobiler to try & get screen image to PC as would give idea on actual possible issues. could be ribbon or connector or worse.
Not a good time or location for a wet handset :-S good luck ...

SM-G935F Hard Brick - Possible Dead Motherboard

Hello all,
I'm currently facing an issue with my phone and have done numerous troubleshoots to try to diagnose the issue. Long story short, my phone suddenly died on me one day at 50% battery life and would not turn back on; couldn't boot into Recovery, Download, etc; absolutely no response. I looked at previous xda threads with this issue like this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/galaxy-s7-edge-wont-charging-indications-t3669736 and followed their recommendation to let the battery completely drain over a few days, recharge to full capacity, and attempt to boot again. I was able to boot into download mode and flash a clean build with stock rom. All looked good but when I tried to boot back into System, the phone crashed immediately after the Samsung logo and got the blue notification light of death. Once again, no response so I let the battery deplete overnight, getting rid of the blue light, and recharging my phone to full capacity.
Unfortunately, since then I have not been able to boot the phone again at all. I finally decided to take the arduous task of opening the phone and replacing the battery, which had no effect either. So from my conclusion, I'm assuming my motherboard may be dead. Does anyone have any tips on how to diagnose where the issue may be on the motherboard? I know I can purchase a replacement motherboard but I want to use this as a learning experience and possibly save $100. Any relevant help is appreciated. Thank you!
After doing all those things you have done and a couple of visits to Samsung service center (They have asked me 28000 INR for replacement of Battery, Motherboard, LCD and Tapes), I gave the phone to someone who dealt with similar issue. He said, it's the Power IC that needs to be replaced. I'm waiting for him to call me. So, check the Power IC, if you can and see if that is the problematic part.
hey i had a similar issue with my s7 edge which i started this thread about https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/strange-s7-edge-semi-bricked-t3703917
i never actually updated it but after a while of my phone randomly rebooting and freezing etc one day it never switched back on i was still in warrenty with samsung so i sent it off and they repaired it, it turned out it was a dead motherboard in the end

I thought that may be it too so I reflowed the power IC chips with some flux and a blow dryer, still no dice. I'm beginning to think maybe it's an issue with the CPU IC and/or capacitors and at this point it isn't worth the effort repairing due to all the necessary tools and lack of documentation for what voltage or current reading should be for each component. I found a nice CPU IC repair video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yi7VySXABo but the tools would cost more than just buying a new motherboard lol. Got myself a new motherboard anyways, probably just gonna use this one as a sandbox to practice my diagnostic and soldering skills on.
