Several Problems with htc Magic / mt3g - myTouch 3G, Magic General

Hi friends, I come to you android gurus if you can help me and guide about this cellphone that is giving me a lot of problems.
1. - when I enter in the recovery menu (home + end) the SD and Bluetooth stop working until insert and flash the mtd0.img file again
2. - I put a custom rom CyanogenMod 6.1.0-DS-signed, and the screen gets a green tint and i dont know how fixit i tried with a kernel patch but the screen turns black when the phone is starting and stays black after the logo MyTouch3g and phone never starts.
3. - Which is the most recommended customized rom, rooted faster and more stable for this phone, as some basic applications like angry birds, skate boy, etc, it runs way tooooo slow and sometimes dont respond and freeze, i want to install this custom rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1641521 but is necesary do every one step in the instruction for the install?
The phone is not the conventional magic, it is the HTC mytouch 3g 1.2, the one with 3.5mm headphone jack, in fastboot throws me this information:

is my phone bricked? can't mount sd

hi, i've searched the threads and tried everything but nothing has helped. found a very similar thread but their solution didnt' work for me...
tried a new rom (froyo), wiped, flashed, rebooted then it had sdcard mount problems thought it was the rom so i wiped and then tried to flash with no luck it says
build: RA-sapphire-v1.5.2H
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or dev/block/mmblk0)
(No such file or directory)
E:Can't mount SDCARD

is the phone bricked?
Really need some help here i'm stuck
Try this from command line, boot into fastboot and type:
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
no good,
...INFO [ERR] Command error !!!
OKAY
HELP!!!!!!!
Oops, didn't see that you were using 32B
try this(You need recovery image first):
Code:
fastboot -c board_sapphire.disable_sdcard=0 boot [b]<recovery image name>[/b]
From here, you should be able to flash another ROM.
to be clear... if my recovery image was renamed to recovery.img i simply type this into fastboot?
fastboot -c board_sapphire.disable_sdcard=0 boot recovery.img
NEVERMIND, ok the recovery image has been flashed but it still doesn't let me access the SD CARD to install a rom...
i'm still not understanding what to do after i put in your command. still no access to sdcard
ok so should i just throw my phone against the wall or something...
anyhting i want to flash from fastboot gives me FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
except the recovery image i was able to flash with the code provided above. anyone know how i can flash a radio or rom from fastboot without getting that message? remember the phone is 32B and it cna't recognize my SD CARD (my problem in the first place)
I have the same problem, but just do this:
Go into recovery -> Backup/Restore ->
choose Nandroid backup but don't press home to start the backup; press back instead.
Do this last step 2 to 3 times and flashing from sd should work.
ok well ... i managed to unroot my phone by installing the sappimg.nbh
but now i can't get into recovery...
and my phone does not recognize my SD CARD in any shape or form. the SD card seems to be fine though when i put it in my PC
so at this point... phone is working with stock ROM but SD CARD can not be found.
HELP!!!

[SOLVED] Need some Help

OK I have a Rogers Magic, with the old radio. I have been screwing around with this some much in the last few days I can't even remember what I did.
I think I had the Custom MTD Partitions and I wanted to remove it and switch to Clockwork recovery. So I flashed recovery and rebooted into it, formated the partitions ran the flashed the remove zip. And that is where my problems began.
My phone could no longer see my SD card so I couldn't flash anything. I get "Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev block/mmcblk0) (No such file or directory) E:Can't mount SDCARD" and because of formating everything I no longer had a system to boot to.
I messed around and found that fastboot could see the SDCARD and found and SAPPIMG.zip and that worked. But I now have a vodafone 1.5 rom with hboot that says

Go to theunlockr.com and in How to's you have how to root your magic and then install eng spl via recovery and stuff
Been there done that but it didn't work as it couldn't read my sdcard.
However I have finally gotten it to work with the Rogers RUU (that didn't work the first 3 times but finally did on a different PC).
Thanks for taking the time to help.

I've seen someone with this problem before
in recovery, or ROM
cat /proc/cmdline
if you see disable_sdcard=1 , that is the problem
in fastboot mode
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
^^ that should fix sdcard
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
Didn't work with that spl however thanks for looking.
I ended up running the Rogers RUU (a few times before it actually worked) and that updated to the latest perfected spl from them, then the fastboot oem enableqxdm 0 command worked and then I was able root as per the Rogers post E911 update instructions be ezTerry. I now have a working phone again.

Well... you can flash the 1.33.2010 eng spl to do some stuff. But if you want a fully functional device, you have to flash the 0013 or 0013d spl as tvall stated.

So I just download 0013 or 0013d spl and just flash it in recovery correct?
Then I will have a better recovery, thus making it easier to install radios, and maybe even Rom's?
no.... you must need an eng spl... the 1.33.2010 or something.
The 0013 and 0013d radios are almost exactly the same. to flash roms download rom manager from the market. Them use that to get clockworkmod recovery. You flash roms from that

Here are my questions now:
Can I install Radio with Rom Manager?
Can I install SPL with Rom Manager?
If not, I read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=605239. How do I do a full backup with nandroid or w/e it is.
As I think I know what it means, this is what I did:
I installed that app 'Rom Manager, then installed clockword' but when I did it the first time I clicked the 32B one on accident first, so I redid it with 32a one. It gave me the option of the 2. Now when I tried to make a backup with the app, it would restart, and just sit at the mytouhc screen =( I messed up? The phone still works, I just had to pull battery.
I even tried using RA 1.7 from the ROM manager and it still sits at green screen if I boot in recovery =/
Sigh, so I tried bypassing Rom manager by just using SDK/ADB to install the recovery I wanted...
I try getting into fastboot from my pc, and it says the phone isn't connected. I tried reinstalling the usb drivers MULTIPLE times. I have windows xp, when I go to fastboot it asks to install a separate driver than when the phone is booted up.
The driver is called: #USB\VID\0BB4&PID_0FFF.DeviceDescRelease%. It will install this but it doesn't do jack
If you need fastboot flash an eng spl temporarily. But you need a recovery to do that.. You might be able to do it in adb... Look at the stickies.

Can you give me a link to the two files I should use? I am sorry for being bothersome, but I just know I will eff up if I search the files on my own =/
You could try installing a recovery from terminal on your device. Get a terminal emulator from the market and then follow the directions in Amon_ra's recovery post. That way you wouldn't need to change spl or use rom manager. Hope that helps.
Tried this, got passed SU, but it says this:
flash_image: not found after typing flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-sapphire.v1.7.0H
Copy recovery-RA-passion-v2.2.1.img to the root of your sdcard
start the terminal app
su(press enter)
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-sapphire.v1.7.0H(press enter)
reboot recovery(press enter)
The file you copied to your sd and what you type into the term should be the same. If you have "passion" on your sd card and type in "sapphire" in the term that's the problem. The sapphire recovery is the one you want for your device.
Actually I renamed the file to recovery.img to make it easy to type in. is that a problem?
Sigh I wish I could just figure out why when I put the phone into fastboot mode, then hook the phone to the PC that the PC will not see the phone when I type adb devices... wtf?
When I went through SDK and installed google usb driver rev 4 it seemed to download, but its not showing up in my directory folder... I am so aggravated atm

If I understand it correctly you need and engineering spl to use most fastboot functions that's why I suggested the term install of recovery. What you type into the term has to be what the file is called on your sd so if you changed the name, you type in what you changed the name to.
i.e. #flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img but the recovery you should be installing is the sapphire one NOT the passion one.
Sir I have been doing what you are suggesting right now. It consistently says not found for the emulator, or if I do it via fastboot. Just says remote: not allow.
I put a sappimg.zip file into my sd card and when into fastboot mode. I am currently waiting for it to load which I got the ZIP from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547133: it seems after you do this the fastboot will work?
Though I have no idea what this sappimg.zip is doing atm, I have been getting antsy, so I probably just ****ed my phone... What evs we shall see when this thing finishes updating.
I am worried now. Its taking hella long to boot up my device... god I wish I wasn't so impatient, I probably just effed my phone by doing that sappimg

[Q] Magic - Fastboot: FAILED (remote: not allowed)

Hi there,
I'd like to update to a newer Android Version. So as I read I have to flash a new recovery first. I tried to create a gold card in order to flash this new recovery but I still get an error when I use fastboot.
I read several tutorials and threads in this forum but i couldn't find the right answer. I hope someone can help me.
Is there a problem with a "ScanDisk" gold card...?

You said you have a Goldcard already, right?
Also, only do this if your Magic is a 32B. If it's a 32A, you're bricked for life (and I'm not responsible). It says on the fastboot screen which you are.
If it is a 32B, get the first download from the NBH/ZIP section of this thread <a href=http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548218>here</a> (Make sure to read the warnings at the top) and put it on your normal SD card.
Then, boot into HBOOT mode by either
1. Booting into Fastboot mode and pushing volume down.
2. Booting phone with volume down pressed.
It should find the sappimg after a minute. If not, make sure the sappimg is on the SD card not in any folders and also that it's named SAPPIMG.zip.
Choose yes to all the questions. If it has an error, reboot and try again or try it on a Goldcard.
Now fastboot should work and you can do whatever.

If you have custom recovery (AmonRa or Clockworkmod), then you are lucky.
If not, then you must install official ROM: 3.12.531.1 T-Mobile USA FRG83D
http://www.4shared.com/file/j64ygA9t/RUU_Sapphire_T-Mobile_US_31253.html
After that, you can root phone with SuperOneClick, then install custom recovery, and custom rom (via custom recovery)

I've tried flashing the Amon_ra recovery thru fastboot, but it gives me a remote: not allow error.
My fastboot now says that S-ON instead of S-OFF
I had a goldcard.img from the first time I rooted still, but I'm can't flash any new recovery image or a new rom, they all fail, I also can't restore from a backup, it'll start the process and then an error that reads

ERROR[170]: USB CONNECTION ERROR
The ROM Update Utility cannot connect to your Android phone. Please check that the USB cable is connected properly between the PC and your Android phone.
Check the following:
1. The Android phone is connected to the USB cable.
2. The USB cable is connected to the PC.
Workaround links to drivers / usb-cable and usb-slot / computer OS
Example: http://community.htc.com/na/htc-forums/android/f/17/p/2467/9719.aspx
You need last HTC Sync and Android SDK Tools (with package Google USB Drivers)
Ok, so do I try to flash thru clockwork recovery or fastboot usb?

Write SPL-info from fastboot-mode (first 5 rows, any symbol is important)
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT-1.33.0013 (SAPP31000)
CPLD-13

Ok. Your SPL is stock and you really have MT3G v1.2
Do you solve problems with USB drivers?
Anyway... You can flash 2.10.531.4 from RUU 4shared
or
get 2.10.513.4 in archive: rapidshare
rename it to SAPPIMG.ZIP
place it to sdcard
turn phone off
turn on by pressing and holding VolumeDown + Power (it will start into hboot-mode and search for sappimg.zip)

This error indicates to difference between versions... ROM has 2.10.531.4 version, your phone has - you will know if run:
Code:
fastboot getvar version-main
Try to erase system
Code:
fastboot erase system
and flash again
Can't erase thru fastboot, it still gives me the remote not allow error.. I downloaded the newest r15 of android sdk, and copied the fastboot.exe from r13 to the tools.. what am I missing to fix this?
Damn, it is bad. Your phone is not bricked, but in deadlock.
Can you boot into recovery? Load phone into fastboot-mode and run
fastboot boot recovery.img
Then you can erase system and data partitions and flash custom rom.

Ok, so I ran get version thru fastboot: it's version 2.53.707.2
when I run the fastboot boot recovery.img I get this
cannot load recovery.img
So how do I get out of deadlock?
also in recovery i have options to format the following:
boot
system
data
cache
sdcard
sd-ext
would any of those help?
Try to erase system. We must avoid check of main version to install official ROM
Then we can root it and restore all customs...
