is my phone bricked? can't mount sd - myTouch 3G, Magic General

hi, i've searched the threads and tried everything but nothing has helped. found a very similar thread but their solution didnt' work for me...
tried a new rom (froyo), wiped, flashed, rebooted then it had sdcard mount problems thought it was the rom so i wiped and then tried to flash with no luck it says
build: RA-sapphire-v1.5.2H
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or dev/block/mmblk0)
(No such file or directory)
E:Can't mount SDCARD
Boots RA-sapphire-v1.5.2H and fastboot just fine
SAPPHIRE PVT 32B ENG S-ON H
HBOOT-1.33.2005 (SAPP30000)
CPLD-10
RADIO-2.22.23.02
So can't flash any new roms...
is the phone bricked?
Really need some help here i'm stuck

Try this from command line, boot into fastboot and type:
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0

no good,
...INFO [ERR] Command error !!!
OKAY
HELP!!!!!!!

Oops, didn't see that you were using 32B
try this(You need recovery image first):
Code:
fastboot -c board_sapphire.disable_sdcard=0 boot [b]<recovery image name>[/b]
From here, you should be able to flash another ROM.

to be clear... if my recovery image was renamed to recovery.img i simply type this into fastboot?
fastboot -c board_sapphire.disable_sdcard=0 boot recovery.img
NEVERMIND, ok the recovery image has been flashed but it still doesn't let me access the SD CARD to install a rom...
i'm still not understanding what to do after i put in your command. still no access to sdcard
ok so should i just throw my phone against the wall or something...
anyhting i want to flash from fastboot gives me FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
except the recovery image i was able to flash with the code provided above. anyone know how i can flash a radio or rom from fastboot without getting that message? remember the phone is 32B and it cna't recognize my SD CARD (my problem in the first place)

I have the same problem, but just do this:
Go into recovery -> Backup/Restore ->
choose Nandroid backup but don't press home to start the backup; press back instead.
Do this last step 2 to 3 times and flashing from sd should work.

ok well ... i managed to unroot my phone by installing the sappimg.nbh
but now i can't get into recovery...
and my phone does not recognize my SD CARD in any shape or form. the SD card seems to be fine though when i put it in my PC
so at this point... phone is working with stock ROM but SD CARD can not be found.
HELP!!!

I'm going to close this because it is posted in the wrong section.
@Dannyfal, I'll open this back up when you can send me a private message with where you think that this should have been posted.
I know that you're all going to think that this is cruel and even counter-productive but I have to move over a dozen posts each night because some members just don't know what qualifies as "Development." To qualify for "Development" is must be regarding production or modification of Android software.
If you think that this is unreasonable then refer to this post here:

[help] semi-brick: flashed nandroid backup via fastboot recovery rom

help please. i have a nandroid backup on my pc in the sdk tools folder and need to install it via recovery rom using sdk. please...please instruct. i stupidly (as in 'droid noob) partitioned sd and wiped it clean
thank you Amon_RA!!!
i semi-bricked my sapphire 32A with fatal1ty1.4 hero rom (device not previously rooted):
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A ENG S-OFF H
HBOOT-1.33.2005 (SAPP50000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-3.22.20.17
APR 20 2009, 15:30:43
this happened because i partitioned sd using recovery rom in fastboot. my symptom is that boot loops at the hero splash (third splash after the first and then htc magic splash. i can not boot into recovery via send/home but can access send/back and fastboot boot via Amon_RA's recovery rom RAv1.2.0H and fastboot device returns device id. also, i have nandroid backup files (all the .img) in androidsdk/tools.
from reading posts, it was evident i did not have a full brick and needed a guide with command prompts to flash the correct <.img> nandroid files in the right order. i have read hours of xda threads and was dizzy so i pm'd RA who graciously replied as follows:
Navigate to androidsdk/tools where you have all the nandroid backup files you made earlier. You should find back the following files :
- boot.img
- cache.img
- data.img
- misc.img
- recovery.img
- system.img
Boot your phone in fastboot-mode and enter the following commands :
Code:
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash userdata data.img
fastboot reboot
happily, the instructions worked and were good training. though terribly embarrassed but extremely grateful, fatalit1y1.4 hero rom running and semi-brick now back to life.
now i'm reading up as to whether i need to or should apply root though i run rooted roms.
also, i need to do a better job of researching if and how i should format extended partitions and if it is required since i plan to swap hero roms and ultimately apply htc rosie release for sapphire when available.
other than rom swapping, i generally plan to practice modding roms and applying basic tweaks via adb.
any comments/feedback welcome in hopes this helps the next noob
well it looks right
it shure does look like a solution too my problem but the thing is i have no clue where as to find the
- boot.img
- cache.img
- data.img
- misc.img
- recovery.img
- system.img
files i need
well I have found those files needed ( I too partitioned my SD and lost everything) But when I load fastboot commands it returns with
FAILED <remote: not allow>
for everything I try to do
one more..
So I am also in the same position, and my problem is that when I do the fastboot erase that works fine, but when I try to flash the img-files I have from the nandroid-backup, it says:
$ fastboot-mac flash system system.img
sending 'system' (85962 KB)... OKAY
writing 'system'... INFOsignature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
$
..for each of the images and places (cache, system etc)..
Any ideas?

you have perfect spl. See this thread
why don't people put the sdcard in an adapter and plug it into the pc and copy nandroid back to the card
if you can boot to fastboot (back + on(red phone) its not over yet!
Are you on 32a? if so search the forums for sappimg.zip

exactly! that would have been the way to do it more simply
another easy process i like now that isn't much discussed is that of using SU File Manager & Terminal (SUFBS) to delete and add .apk files intead of doing the whole AndroidSDK ADB thing...

[SOLVED] Need some Help

OK I have a Rogers Magic, with the old radio. I have been screwing around with this some much in the last few days I can't even remember what I did.
I think I had the Custom MTD Partitions and I wanted to remove it and switch to Clockwork recovery. So I flashed recovery and rebooted into it, formated the partitions ran the flashed the remove zip. And that is where my problems began.
My phone could no longer see my SD card so I couldn't flash anything. I get "Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev block/mmcblk0) (No such file or directory) E:Can't mount SDCARD" and because of formating everything I no longer had a system to boot to.
I messed around and found that fastboot could see the SDCARD and found and SAPPIMG.zip and that worked. But I now have a vodafone 1.5 rom with hboot that says

I can't get fastboot to load any other zip's or nbh (I did make a goldcard) but I don't think fastboot sees my sdcard any more.
Not sure what else I can do. Any help please.

Go to theunlockr.com and in How to's you have how to root your magic and then install eng spl via recovery and stuff
Been there done that but it didn't work as it couldn't read my sdcard.
However I have finally gotten it to work with the Rogers RUU (that didn't work the first 3 times but finally did on a different PC).
Thanks for taking the time to help.

I've seen someone with this problem before
in recovery, or ROM
cat /proc/cmdline
if you see disable_sdcard=1 , that is the problem
in fastboot mode
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
^^ that should fix sdcard
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
Didn't work with that spl however thanks for looking.
I ended up running the Rogers RUU (a few times before it actually worked) and that updated to the latest perfected spl from them, then the fastboot oem enableqxdm 0 command worked and then I was able root as per the Rogers post E911 update instructions be ezTerry. I now have a working phone again.
Thanks all for the help.

[Q] Magic - Fastboot: FAILED (remote: not allowed)

Hi there,
I'd like to update to a newer Android Version. So as I read I have to flash a new recovery first. I tried to create a gold card in order to flash this new recovery but I still get an error when I use fastboot.
I read several tutorials and threads in this forum but i couldn't find the right answer. I hope someone can help me.
Is there a problem with a "ScanDisk" gold card...?

You said you have a Goldcard already, right?
Also, only do this if your Magic is a 32B. If it's a 32A, you're bricked for life (and I'm not responsible). It says on the fastboot screen which you are.
If it is a 32B, get the first download from the NBH/ZIP section of this thread <a href=http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548218>here</a> (Make sure to read the warnings at the top) and put it on your normal SD card.
Then, boot into HBOOT mode by either
1. Booting into Fastboot mode and pushing volume down.
2. Booting phone with volume down pressed.
It should find the sappimg after a minute. If not, make sure the sappimg is on the SD card not in any folders and also that it's named SAPPIMG.zip.
Choose yes to all the questions. If it has an error, reboot and try again or try it on a Goldcard.
Now fastboot should work and you can do whatever.

1.33.0013 is perfected SPL, remote commands are disabled in this hboot.
If you have custom recovery (AmonRa or Clockworkmod), then you are lucky.
If not, then you must install official ROM: 3.12.531.1 T-Mobile USA FRG83D
http://www.4shared.com/file/j64ygA9t/RUU_Sapphire_T-Mobile_US_31253.html
After that, you can root phone with SuperOneClick, then install custom recovery, and custom rom (via custom recovery)
I already rooted using superone click but my phone wont boot after I tried to flash a rom how do I get it to boot up and work again I'm freaking out oh an I have clockwork recorvery image that's how I tried to flash the rom but i dont have a goldcard can i still use the same method can u give me a walk through or is there a way using clockwork mod

If you have custom recovery - just flash custom rom via it.
P.s. but choose appropriate rom (with tags 32b)

[Q] HTC Magic bricked

Hi guys ! My name is Erwan, i'm from Paris.
I have a HTC Magic ("with Google" at the back).
Here are the description :
SAPPHIRE PVT 32B SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT-1.33.0013d (SAPP10000)
CPLD-10
RADIO-2.22.27.08
I made a HUGE mistake when i was thinking i could install something new on my phone without understanding it well. So now, you are my only hope.
So, what i've done :
1. I made a SuperWipe on my phone
2. I installed the new radio and the new hboot from this topic.
3. I was unable to boot from my Amon Ra 1.7 to perform the Yoshi ROM setup.
I went on google and this forum to search over and over why this thing didn't work and i guess that's because i'm with S-ON.
Now, i have nothing on my sdcard (not even a small *.zip). I can access it from another phone (a Blackberry) to put things on it.
The question is : how can i un-brick my phone ?
I'm just so desperate atm...
edit 1 : i tried to copy the Yoshi 1.5 rom on my SD card, rename into update.zip, then put my sdcard on, HOME + Power on my phone and i get this message : E: No signature E: Verification failed.
edit 2 : C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\tools>fastboot boot recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0G.img
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 1.717s]
booting...
[waiting forever and nothing happen]
that does not sound like a brick. if you have accses to recovery then just flash a signed rom and you should be good, but if you are stuck without a recovery then just got to "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831139"
and read the part about being stuck without recovery, it will tell you to flash the .nbh by placing it on the root of your sdcard and boot to fastboot and let it flash.
Below is what your looking for on the linked fourm.
If you find yourself stuck without recovery!!
Dream
1) Download: orange-1.58.73.2.nbh (MD5: aca4dee0c1ece7e9773f2ecbdfbba7c0) (mirror)
2) enter fastboot and run 'fastboot flash nbh orange-1.58.73.2.nbh'
3) wait for the entire nbh to flash
4) boot into the bootloader again (it will be an engineering SPL 1.42.2000)
5) You can now re-flash the radio/hboot/recovery via fastboot that you wish to have installed.
Sapphire (MT3G)
1) Download SAPPIMG.nbh
2) enter fastboot and run 'fastboot flash nbh SAPPIMG.nbh'
3) Continue as per one click (flashreq) root instructions: http://www.getyourdroidon.com/wiki/i...One_Click_Root

Several Problems with htc Magic / mt3g

Hi friends, I come to you android gurus if you can help me and guide about this cellphone that is giving me a lot of problems.
1. - when I enter in the recovery menu (home + end) the SD and Bluetooth stop working until insert and flash the mtd0.img file again
2. - I put a custom rom CyanogenMod 6.1.0-DS-signed, and the screen gets a green tint and i dont know how fixit i tried with a kernel patch but the screen turns black when the phone is starting and stays black after the logo MyTouch3g and phone never starts.
3. - Which is the most recommended customized rom, rooted faster and more stable for this phone, as some basic applications like angry birds, skate boy, etc, it runs way tooooo slow and sometimes dont respond and freeze, i want to install this custom rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1641521 but is necesary do every one step in the instruction for the install?
The phone is not the conventional magic, it is the HTC mytouch 3g 1.2, the one with 3.5mm headphone jack, in fastboot throws me this information:
